I don't think global emails actually work across US/EU, if that's the case I'll be happy to chip in to pay any EU winners.
A Penny For Your Thoughts #348691 <- Dev's Choice'd by Dr. Aeon!
Submit your MA arc for review & my arcs thread
Thanks, I had forgotten about that part, that did happen in one case last year too.
After spending some time poring over the arcs that I've played and are actually eligible, here's my nominations:
VILLAIN
410418 The Do-It-Yourself Doom Army Project
HEROIC
384776 Made to Wave the Flag
COMEDY
340316 Drakule vs. The Werewolf Bikers From Hell
SHORT
379488 Storming Citadel
LOWBIE
375018 A Hero in Need...is a Friend Indeed!
ORIGINAL GROUP
346904 Against the Wickerwork Khan
Some of these were pretty close calls. There's actually been quite a number of good arcs published since the cutoff date.
@PW - Police Woman (50 AR/dev blaster on Liberty)
TALOS - PW war journal - alternate contact tree using MA story arcs
=VICE= "Give me Liberty, or give me debt!"
I would like to nominate:
Best Arc - Villainous or Rogue: 373846 - Unfair Trade
Best Arc - Heroic or Vigilante: 384776 - Made To Wave the Flag
Best Arc - Comedy: 379017 - Outbroken
Best Lowbie Arc: designed for levels 20 or lower: 375018 - A Hero in Need...is a Friend Indeed
Best Original Group Design: 346904 - Against the WickerWork Khan
@Gypsy Rose
In Pursuit of Liberty - 344916
The Vigilante - 395861
Suppression - 374481 - Winner of The American Legion's February 2011 AE Author Contest
I'm extremely chuffed to have Storming Citadel nominated, but it won the 1-mission category in the March 2009 Player's Choice Awards, so is it still eligible? Aren't previous winners disallowed?
Eco.
MArcs:
The Echo, Arc ID 1688 (5mish, easy, drama)
The Audition, Arc ID 221240 (6 mish, complex mech, comedy)
Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 (lowbie, 1mish, 10-min timed)
That was kind of a mini-awards, and by March they weren't nearly as popular as the earlier ones, so I didn't see any reason to disallow those previous winners. The 2009 winners and other nominees are pretty much, if not all disallowed due to this year's date published limitation.
Yay! So I'm in the running! Cool.

I wish I had more time to run AE missions. The Players Choice Awards are really a great example of how CoX players can do something special. Kudo's, yet again, Bubbawheat. And, good luck to all the nominees.
For the moment, I will second "Storming Citadel." Maybe I'll get some free time to play and nominate some more before it's over.
The SOLUS Foundation - a Liberty and Pinnacle SG
"The Consequences of War" - Arcs # 227331 and 241496
I am shocked to see my arc on that list! I got pretty burned out on creating AE missions and it was really off my radar. Don't me wrong, I still have ideas I want to do sometime (one of which "feels imminent" is some bizarre way...), but since my burn out, I've found I've really been enjoying just playing the game again. Maybe I was creating AE arcs as a way to get away from burn-out playing the game???
Now I feel guilty for not spending more time in the AE playing other people's missions. I'll try and get to that after Halloween's over, as by then my latest toon project (a troller) should be mature enough to handle it.
Thanks for the nomination, maybe that'll get me kick-started back into creating for the AE.
This year's categories are as follows:
Best Arc - Villainous or Rogue |
alternate: Fear and Loathing on Striga Isle - 350522
Best Arc - Heroic or Vigilante |
Best Arc - Comedy |
(yes, comedy -- you can be both dramatic and ridiculous)
Best Short Arc: 1 - 3 missions |
Best Lowbie Arc: designed for levels 20 or lower |
Best Original Group Design |
Up with the overworld! Up with exploration! | Want a review of your arc?
My arcs: Dream Paper (ID: 1874) | Bricked Electronics (ID: 2180) | The Bravuran Jobs (ID: 5073) | Backwards Day (ID: 329000) | Operation Fair Trade (ID: 391172)
I won't nominate any arcs as it would be inappropriate for the Players Choice Awards, but I look forward to playing through a lot of these. Thanks a ton to those running the competition!

I'm not sure about what category since it was used in a contest but I would like to nominate @Cai's Hack arc Part II Arc#: 403410 (Part I Arc#: 403052 was a precursor)
It was used for the following contest and was truly a fun challenge.
You need the background post with the clues for the real value of it.
Hello Gamers, I want to play a game of word association. When I say poisoned, who do you think of? When I say dead by 12 PM EST Monday, 05/03/2010, to whom could I be referring? When I say riddles, what comes to mind? Some people get riddles confused with proverbs. I really don't understand why. A proverb is akin to sage advice. For example: He who puts riches above life in the end receives neither. Riddles, however, have a more sinister end. Using something that is known to reveal the unknown, a riddle seeks to guide its reader on the path to enlightenment, or the path of confusion. A good example of a riddle would be: When the sum of need is three, I before E except after C. Or maybe proverbs and riddles aren't that different after all. The time for games is upon us. You are in need of an antidote. I happen to have one. This antidote is divided into three parts; The Cure, The Needle and The Syringe. I have made for you a video clue for each one. Watch carefully, it's the last clues you'll receive. Enough talk, time is wasting. The Needle The Syringe The Cure The new Arc ID# is: 403410 It's time to play the game. The Hack |

Dear Devs: Stop ignoring your niche communities. Base builders, PvPers, Architect authors--we pay our subscription, too.
Thanks for doing this great contest again! Totally looking forward to playing everyone's nominations. There is one MA author that immediately springs to my mind as being vastly underappreciated and more than worthy of any and all honors, namely one Witty Librarian of Champion renown. I went ahead and nominated the latest arc from said author as both a heroic and villainous arc because; Pirates! It's also very funny and has a wicked custom group. Do yourself a favor and play Witty Librarian's other arcs if you haven't already and are looking for a real treat.

I'd like to second the nomination of Drakule vs. The Werewolf Bikers From Hell #340316 by @LaserJesus. It's a funny series of arcs that only got better as they went along.
I felt at first I might not be qualified to nominate anything as I don't play AE arcs half as often as I feel I should to consider myself 'knowledgeable' - I don't have the breadth of experience with them all that many others here do. Thinking about it though, I realized this was one series of arcs that I actually bothered to search out one after another and one of the few that is actually still stuck in my mind from back when I had time to play with the MA super team on Triumph.
Seems like reason enough to speak up for it, right?
I'd like to nominate
The Ghastly Secret Of Dreams
by @Clave Dark 5
Arc ID: 386861
for the Comedy category.
It's rather bonkers IMO, reminded me of a Marx Bros or 3 Stooges runabout. The custom group is great, and the endboss is barking.
Eco.

Added a new rule about allowing an arc to be in only one category which has been applied to "Hack" and Pirate War, we are still discussion the best category for Captain Skylark. If the arc you nominated gets placed in a different category, you may nominate a replacement arc in its stead.

Wow. Good thing I reactivated my account! I may have missed this entirely otherwise...
Thanks for all the nominations! I'm... uh... glad they all still apparently work.
Having been gone for the last few months, I unfortunately am not as much up on arcs. I'll probably end up playing through the nominations and seconding some stuff. I kind of want to second Dhahabu Kingdom right now... but Captain Skylark has too good of a title for me not to give it a shot.
I will however second Talos Vice for Best Lowbie arc, because of pastel-clad Hellions. That really should be reason enough right there for it to be guaranteed a spot for voting.
It's awesome to see this competition going again. And thank you ArrowRose for nominating one of mine! I've made sure it works but I should see if changes to MA might have made it possible to improve it further. It's not primarily a comedy, but I hope it might have its moments.
I hope to get back into AE a bit, and Bubba's arc club looks like a good way to do a bit of that on the back of playing other new content.
Arc: 379017: Outbroken See all your old friends in the Outbreak Tutorial sequel!
Arc: Coming Soon: The Incarnate Shadow Shard of Fire and Ice Mender Rednem needs you!

Lowbie: Past Echoes of Tomorrow #379399 by @Equation aka Arbiter Fabulous
Short: By Any Other Name #398110 @Fetch
I haven't played that many Villainous arcs that stand out this year yet, though I may try to find some this next week, and I can't remember any villain groups that notably stand out other than the one that's already been seconded.
Here's hoping for more nominations, less than a week to get them in!
Nominations are now closed
Voting thread will be posted no later than November 22nd, and probably sooner.
It's time once again for the second annual Player's Choice Awards. For those of you who are disappointed with some of the exclusions of the Dev awards, these Architect Awards are from the players and by the players. There are some changes from last year, and hopefully they are all positive ones. As usual, this is the thread to nominate arcs of others, rather than try to promote your own arcs. Choose any categories you want to nominate an arc for, or choose arcs for all of them. Spread the word! Feel free to use the link http://tinyurl.com/2010PlayersChoice to this thread.
