I barely made it, but I was able to finish "The Icari" in time to submit it for this challenge!

It looks like I've got some strong competition though, so I hope my arc is good enough to compete!

I also got an automated response acknowledging receipt of my submission. (Really a customized "out of office" message.)

WN, is there any chance that your spam blocker may be catching the automated response? You might check your spam / junk mail folder just in case.

I had checked all the spam folders and such. Apparently it needed to come for the email address that is on the game account because when I sent it from there I got a response within 30 seconds. That or there was some other issue with using my other email address.

Hello Architects!

Time is up on the entries for the Architect contest! Now begins the fun part for you all – waiting! Well, maybe that part isn’t so fun, but I’m sure you all can figure out a way to make it fun.

I’ll be playing through all of your arcs soon and I’ll be sure to let each of you know when I’ve gotten through them. Good luck to everyone who has entered!

Now that this contest is over, I'm gonna put in my 2 cents, since I didnt want to bring it off topic before (even tho some others may have done so already).

The AE is a great tool, and needs more attention. These contests are a great way of doing just that. I really like the idea, and it's a goodway of generating a positive "buzz" towards the AE.

However...

I seriously do not get the limitations this contest has been subjected to!

As pointed out by a few other posters before me, not being able to participate to one of CoH's many contest because of where we live, is annoying. I can understand that when the prize is of a monetary value or a physical object, but the prize here is nothing more than a Player title and a gold star... I mean really. No one outside the game would be affected by this; no borders to cross, no money to transfer, nothing!

If at all possible, I would appreciate a detailed explanation on why not every CoH player could participate in this?

My suggestion? Make a different set of rules for when contests have prizes that are related to in-game contents/items only, and require no involvement from outside factors. That way everyone would be able to participate, it would cut down the complaints in these kinds of threads by 1/3, and most likely draw more attention. Not to mention might be waaaay easier on Paragon studios to generate contest prizes? Player Titles and AE status don't cost a thing to give out like actual money or physical prizes, and other ideas could include special enhancements, rare IO sets, or even custom items so the player would be the only one to have it?
