Emperor Cole at the end of the Power Loyalist Arc...

See? She hasn't even read my previous posts where I indicate that the regime's crimes are real--just that the Resistance is also guilty of equally heinous crimes (trying to nuke the city on multiple occasions, one of them would have brought down the reactor and the sonic shields keeping Hamidon out) and will only ultimately lead to the destruction of what's left of humanity if they succeed.

That said, Cole should be brought down, but so should the Resistance--the Crusader faction especially, if the Resistance wins the Crusaders aren't going to just sit down and tweedle their thumbs. Chaos and anarchy is what they're best out, and when the main thing holding them back is gone, they'll run wild until they're all dead and everyone else, too.

Arachnos has been trying to get the Resistance and Loyalists to flat out kill each other so they can move on in, and Longbow's stated goal is just killing Praetorians. Vanguard may try to help, but seeing as Longbow's even willing to work with Arachnos to take down Praetoria, and they already mostly hate Vanguard for it's membership, they'll likely fight Vanguard every step of the way, along with Arachnos in a three-way war.

If salvation does come to Praetoria, it'll be from Primal Earth Heroes, and not the Resistance itself.

Anyway, I've listed it before, but here is the closest approximation to sides and alignments that I could give.

Responsible Loyalist PCs - Hero, there biggest concern is about the safety of the general populous, even going so far as to compromise their ideal of the law and disobeying the Emperor himself to save lives.

Warden Resistance PCs - Vigilantes, these guys can be pretty heroic--but ultimately, they believe in their ideals more than human life, as shown when they destroy the only source of clean water in the city, dooming many for their ideals.

Power Loyalist PCs - Rogues, through and through, the storyline does some good, taking out the Imperial City destroyers for one thing, but purely for selfish reasons and pretty much gaining power seems to be their only goal.

And finally, Crusader Resistance PCs - Trying to nuke a city is evil, pretty much.

Don't try to reason with her. You'll only provoke more cliched hackneyed slogans and facial ticks.

So the more I read this, the more I see that the person doing the most harm to the Resistance's argument is Golden Girl herself. I mean, I used to be all "well, both sides have valid points" but Golden Girl's incessant "You're a fascist, in America!" is making me be all "See? This is why we can't have nice things. This is why we can't allow people to just go around speaking against the government. Not because it's harmful to the government, but because it actively makes people stupider. Vote NO on Freedom To Say Stupid Things! Talking is not a RIGHT, it's a Privilege!"

Riddle me this: Is there any evidence, other than 'things Resistance members have said,' to suggest that anyone who was taken down by the PPD didn't totally have it coming?


...Why do people insist I believe the Resistance when they say that the Loyalists are lying, but people instantly dismiss the idea that the Resistance could be lying, too?
