Yes please. Let's NOT encourage Jay's prejudice against such an art pack, folks! Frankly I'd kill to have a Beast pack be the next pack, you'd think the outcry about the mutant pack and the practically-forced inclusion of the wolf tail would indicate to them it's very highly desired.

...the problem is, that this is a game centered around SUPERHEROES. I can think of very few comics characters offhand that utilize anything other than wolf or cat heads. Alien heads? Ok, this is a sci-fi themed game, we could use more of those.

I will not comment on anime, since this is a genre I loathe and so I have no idea what goes on there. However it seems to me that furries are an inherently anime theme. But this isn't an anime game.....

The problem is that a bunch of people running around with elephant heads [recently suggested in another thread] would break the theme of the game quite severely. In essence, do we want to encourage things like clones of Beta Ray Bill?

So its not just about Jay's dislike of furries. Its about thematic appropriateness to the game, and cute bunny girls are.... sort of not very superheroic. Or even very villainous... This isn't Playboy Mansion Online. Pining for these type of things is likely to be an excercise in futility, I fear. Mileage will vary but I would not hold my breath for zillions of animal parts to be added; if we are LUCKY we'll get a little more wolf-themed stuff. Wolf, bat and cat-heads would not break theme, and we could certainly use some updated ones.

I agree that elephant heads is pretty much beyond reasonable use. However, this may be "sold" as a superhero game, but it's clearly far beyond that. What's so super-heroic about the jester costume, or the bikini, or the pirate costume? We're clearly not limited by "is this a super hero's costume" when we go into the editor.

What I think a lot of us want are better/multiple options for our anthro characters. More than one wolf head - and frankly, better designed ones that don't look like hydrocephalic dogs. More than one cat head and bat head. More muzzles that are easier to modify as far as length and width. More and better ears, possibly with animations/twitch. Fur ruffs and shoulder manes. Better and more defined "bestial/hairy" skin options that have a sliding scale of how hairy/wooly you are and better color options. Feathers and feathered skin. More scale-skin patterns (king cobra markings on the back anyone?) and more snake-like reptile heads - heck, port in the Snake upper bodies whole cloth, and I'd LOVE to see the lower bodies available as well, even if it wasn't available with certain power sets like Martial Arts. Maybe lizardy neck fringes with the same basic geometry as the jester neck ruff, or even better, the stand-up collar that the Ring Mistresses get. Better bestial/human faces. And more tails - I've been waiting for a horse tail since my first character!

Sorry but the above does bring up a good point...I'd as soon expect Howard the Duck, Casper the Ghost, etc. inspired characters in the game.

They seem to very much lean toward the serious scifi/fantasy/golden age type comic influences rather than the cute/funny/cartoonish ones.

Batmouse? Really? That's as bad as Spiderham.

I have a strong feeling - just a hunch, mind you - that the developers don't want CoX turning into anything remotely resembling the above.

I am all for costume additions that fit in thematically with the vibe CoX has going on. Honest. I don't think horse-tails or horseheads are fitting that descriptions.

The only horsehead I'd want to see in this game would be, if my villains could leave one in Lord Recluse's bed as a warning. Awesome!

I never use bikini or pirate, so they could yank those off the creator tomorrow for all I care. However the Isles do have a history as a haunt of pirates back in the day, so that sort of ties in. Besides pirates make great bad guys.

However, CLOWNS..... clowns will always be thematic. They will be because of *one* iconic villain, The Joker. The Joker is one of the greatest villains ever. *bows in the Joker's general direction*

So don't purchase it if you wouldn't use it. And this is not a "sci-fi themed game," this is a very wide ranging comic-themed game. Which includes common man, gods, high tech, low tech, possible, way out there, magic and mundane themes But if you want to say "Alien heads are appropriate," well, Star wars - cantina patrons, Bothans, Mon Calimari, Quarren... hmmm, seems to be a number there. Babylon 5 gives a number of others, including distinctly non human, insectoid looks well beyond what we have in game. So call them "alien" themes for yourself if that's the only way you can "accept" them.

No, we want to encourage peoples creativity. It would not "break the theme of the game."

We need more than the one somewhat-odd lizard (which is a skinny, strange looking thing on a female character,) something that looks like a PO'd mutant ape, and an annoyed dog. Or just a pattern over a normal face (and one that for whatever reasin is missing a mouth.)

Give me a better cat face. Yes, we have feline, which isn't particularly discernable 'til you're close, and cat ears on a human face just doesn't cut it. Give me a better, crocodile-like face. Something birdlike with a variety of beaks. Go look at the Egyptian pantheon - there's a whole mess of history to draw on there. (And it is fitting, if nothing else for the mention of Gadzul oil and the Blood of the Black Stream being Egyptian-based bits of lore.)

Give me something that looks more draconic. No, the current "lizard" head does not, especially female.

Give me a rat head. And it'd be quite fitting - Not only do we have all sorts of odd things being dumped in the sewers of Paragon and the RI, but - "Splinter."

Give me something that evokes a cobra's hood. (See also Sstheno for "appropriate to the game.") As well as a flat, non hooded snakelike hood for other uses (multiple mythologies.)

Frankly, I can think of quite a bit for an animalistic/beast pack without even leaving *heads* that would fill a number of concepts I've scrapped or seriously toned down (and had to ignore physical attributes of) because it just couldn't be made to look decent with the current choices in game.
