How will the i19 news affect your Controller?

There's a reason why I've been with this game since CoH Beta.....Had to take a small leave due to the new baby. This game keeps getting better and better and all those other games that come out and try to duplicate arent going to be able to keep up.

The invisibility pool is going to get some attention from me due to allowing few more LotG: +recharge. I may pick up the rez on a few of my rads or hover on those that don't already have it. One thing is certain, my plant/ff will no longer have an excuse for skipping ally shields.

On my Fire/Rad, prolly grab Mutation, then a few Stealth powers to mule some LotG's.

I more excited for my lowbie toons. Grinding through the <20 levels has always been a chore, especially when you have to give up 5 powers (3 fitness, 2 travel) for your toon to ever be functional. No more wheezing for blue on teen teams!

I redid all my controllers in mids and it gets ugly, very, very fast. I'm talking about end usage.

Fire/Rad: Well, I dropped my ranged def capped, AV/GM soloing build for a more team friendly, AoE-oriented build, but w/3 extra power picks, I can get back to ranged def cap (& AoE w/RI running). Problem is I'd be running 2 more toggles and my end usage becomes a beast, even w/maxed out (perma) AM. If I go w/this route, toggle management will be key (as opposed to now, where I just run everything 24/7 w/zero problems).

Ice/Storm: I may fit in Med pool for AS and drop Hibernate as my only current self-heal. If I go w/Fighting, end use becomes an even bigger problem since Storm is already beastly, but my defensive numbers look insane.

Ill/Kin: End problems? What end problems (you know, unless Transference misses...)? Perma Hasten, np, and like 2 sec shy of perma PA w/capped ranged def. Can fit in Group Invis (on top of SI) for teaming.

Earth/TA: Haven't played w/this build yet for I19, but I'm guessing I'll fit back in Leadership, even though it's largely not needed. Or maybe Med Pool, since everyone loves that Heal Arrow. Somewhat worried about carrying 2 more toggles though.

Plant/Cold: Again, what end problems (Heat Loss FTW!)? Similar to Storm in the godly defenses & resists you can achieve w/Arctic Fog + Tough/Weave/Maneuvers + epic shield +set bonuses, but w/infinite end as well (well, like a 24sec dowtime for HL).

Elec/Therm: No idea, just rolled him up and I don't even know what I think about the set yet.

It was stated by the devs at the PAX panel. There is a thread in the "City Life" forum under "Tweets from Pax Panel".

...that would be the news.

As for posts?

Here and here are the ones most will find pertinent as they are from a Dev.

What if every player took manuvers, slotted one end reduction, AND Grant Invisibility and slotted the LotG proc? The additional defense from manuvers and grant inviz would be noticeable, with Less slipups aggroing extra groups during initial contact with spawns. I am going this way with my support guys for sure: defenders, controlles, corruptors, and masterminds. I hope most SoA take manuvers, but that would be another class that single slotted manuvers could help.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

I just realized a factor that could have motivated making Fitness inherent: No one can ever take Stamina in Praetoria until they are about to leave... and in so doing, they would be skipping powers for pre-reqs that (new players) would never have seen before.

Maybe?

Also, has anyone asked if Swift and Hurdle will go inherent too? I hope not, I don't want all of my characters to be crazy fast kangaroos.

If Swift AND Hurdle come with the deal, that makes Ninja Run even more viable as travel power. That frees up another 2 slots in the 1-14 journey.

As I mentioned in a scrapper thread, since they also improved Sprint w/I18, you're looking at a run speed of almost 60MPH at lvl 4 (assuming they don't stagger the Fitness inherents and you get Swift/Hurdle by then) w/a decent vertical to boot. Then just buy a raptor pack (can't in Praetoria atm, right?) and your travel needs are done and over with. On half of my controllers, I'm keeping SS as a travel power only for the stealth component (no need w/Steamy Mist, etc).

Does Vengeance buff Plant Pets (Carrion and Fly Trap)? How about /Storm summons (Tornado and Lightning Storm)?

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"

*Arc #177826-Lights, Camera, Scream! - 3 step arc, camp horror; try out in 1st person POV - 35 Ratings/4 Stars

Grrrrr, exactly why I don't want Swift AND Hurdle to be inherents.... it makes no sense whatsoever!

Fortunately, I think not enough people get this. "but the endurance consumption" and "but it provides me with such a small benefit" will keep the game balanced.

I'd take it a step further than what you proposed, if everyone took Maneuvers and one of Assault/Tactics (either), everything would get even more silly easy.

Carrion, yes but individual tentacles have short life spans and low base damage so it won't help very much. Fly trap, yes, it's a normal pet. Tornado and Lightning storm, only if YOU are vengeance buffed while they're cast (buff carries over from you to pseudo pets).

IMO, False.

1) Leadership power values vary from AT to AT.
2) This is assuming that everyone runs big teams.
3) Even if everyone in the game took a Leadership Pool power:

a) Maneuvers - Defense cap and no Defense Debuff resistance - when a good chunk of enemy groups use Defense debuffing attacks; 8 Maneuvers doesn't mean much unless you're running with 8 Crabs, other defense support toons or a defensive build that doesn't need the extra 2.68% defense buff

b) Assault - Damage cap; not too hard to reach to begin with and can be accomplished with current powers/ATs without breaking the game

c) Tactics - would be the gold mine out of the set; this would come the closest to making the game easier to run through at all difficulties. Broken though, not sure.

d) Vengeance - not enough experience with it to comment

Not to say that an 8 man Crab team or /FF Mastermind team (or any large good/specialized team) won't cause murder because of the change; they will... but the thing is, they already do

hate to threadjack.. but I just thought of something.. would this benefit Kheldians while in Dwarf/Squid form? just something to think about..

In regards to Controllers.. without the added Slots.. I don't see much change ..maybe pick up Assault, Teleport, etc anything I can one slot.

I can see this a huge benfit to Regen and willpower toons however..
