Ghosts of Deleted Toons

I and my friends are all noticing that when we delete or move a toon off of a server the name does not get deleted.

When I log back into the serve my toon's name is still there but no picture. I can delete this name and make a new toon. However, I cannot use the name that was in that spot. Again when I log back in I'm seeing the names of the supposedly deleted toons. Now they have moved down the list to unavailable character slots. Is this a known issue and if so is there a fix for it on my end or is this something that the Devs are aware of and looking for a solution for.

Edit: Further quick testing makes it appear that this is a Liberty Only server issue.

I have two of these, also. Both toons were deleted several days ago in prep for this expansion. At this point, I have two "ghost" toons. When I try to select one of them I get a "database problem" error.

I am having the same problem, When I try to create a toon using the same name it says the name is already taken.

It happens when I delete and transfer characters to other servers.

Yep... As FCM said, I also have three deleted Liberty toons currently in limbo.

I'd really like to have those guys back in their spiffy, new Praetorian incarnations some time soon.

I'm also having the same issue. Deleted 2 toons then when I log in the show back up as ghosts.

I'm having this problem as well, also on the Liberty server.
These "ghosts" prevent the creation of new characters with the same name. Since I had plans to reroll a couple of characters as Praetorians, well, this is a problem.

Moved 2 toons from Liberty to make room. Both transferred to holding server fine. But still stuck with ghosted hold outs from those 2... Moved from Protector and Infinity with no ghosting what so ever.

Did they mention a limit to transfers that I missed? Only 6 (while still nice) isn't quite enough to make the room I need/hoped for my home servers

I have 36 slots unlocked on Liberty; yesterday (Tuesday) evening I used a server transfer token to transfer my #36 toon, Deianira to another server (I think Champion). The server transfer appeared to go through (Deianira1 showed up on Champion), but back on Liberty, the #36 slot was still occupied, with the same character name (Deianira) but no costume showing.

I then attempted to delete Deianira from Liberty server, which seemed to succeed and leave me with an "Available" slot, in which I created a new dual pistols/kin corruptor, Marcia Law, who started in Praetoria.

I played Marcia Law up to level 10, then logged out to switch characters. When I got back to the character select screen, the ghost of Deianira (no costume) had reappeared in slot 36. The new character (Marcia Law) no longer showed up. Very strange. I tried quitting the game and restarting it a couple times; same result, so I'd guess it's something server side.

I figure there is probably a 50% chance that the new character did not get saved properly and is lost, which would be disappointing but not a huge loss (since I only played her for a couple hours, I'm sure I could get back to that point easily). But this did scare me off from attempting any more server transfers to create new alts in Praetoria.

Would love to see this fixed soon. Praetoria looks cool.

Also happening to me on Liberty. I'm glad it isn't my home server, because I got frustrated enough to go to other servers and make the toons there instead. I'm glad the names were available elsewhere. I petitioned and they said they were "escalating my petition", but that it will probably take several days for that petition to even be looked at. That is okay, though, because my toons are elsewhere for now.

I'm having the same problem. Since all my slots on Liberty are full, I transferred 3 toons to other servers and still have their "ghosts" still in the slots. I heard that people have been able to delete the ghost and make a new toon in it's place as long as they use a different name, so I decided to try it with transfers. I deleted one of the ghosts, went to a different server, grabbed a toon I'm ok with losing, and tried to transfer. The transfer isn't recognizing any open slots on Liberty even though I deleted the ghost. So I can transfer toons off of Liberty, but not on to it.

As Code Monkey said in the other thread, I'd already submitted this as a bug. I just went and filed a support ticket on the subject as well.

Here's hoping we can poke them enough to get something done about it sooner rather than later... If I end up losing Solace's name over this, I'm going to be a very unhappy camper.

Edit to Add: 'Just PMed Ocho, too. Is that all the bases covered?

Same thing happened to me. I guess I have to wait until they fix this to play in Praetoria. Liberty.

There is hope! The Liberty server has been taken down for maintenance until 3pm Pacific time! Maybe our cries for help were heard

Please let me know if this issue continues to occur after the server maintenance.
