Is there a way for a Loyalist to get this badge? Guide says:

Avid Reader - (Praetorian) (Tutorial badge) You take the time to listen to and read everything you run across. As a reward for this remarkable trait, Rothstein of the Resistance gave you this badge.

I've talked to everyone and clicked all the optional text I could find. But when I talked to Marquand (sp?) I didn't get the badge.

The person you have to talk to to get that badge is in the Tutorial mission. He's the Resistance leader in the room of Ghouls who will call you over to talk with him after you've cleared the room. If you just blew through that room or didn't read all his dialogue options, you missed the badge.

Got it. I did run through that room. Thank you.

So off I go Ghoul hunting.

(BTW this is the only tutorial badge yes? I looked through the list and didn't see another listed. I just didn't see anything saying it was the only one. Of course the other 2 tutorials only have one, so it stands to reason... )

Yeah, that's the only tutorial badge. Although when you choose Resistance or Loyalist it counts toward Moral High Ground and grants either Resistance Member or Loyalist.

I find that the badges for tip missions are also moved down one, so I was mistaken about how many need to be adjusted. Arena Victor (1296) is still where it was in Beta though.
They might well be as listed from 1070-1151. I suspect 1152 is Moral High Ground.

I verified these without having to get GR:

1153 Tipped Off
1154 Walking the Path
1155 Ear to the Street
1156 Streetwise
1157 Well Informed
1158 Inquisitor
1177 Eye of the Storm
1179 Judge & Jury/Merciless

Edit: 1178 Whip Cracker

OK, I was wondering why I didn't get Agent Of Chaos/Order/Praetoria after the launch yesterday. Today, my copies of GR showed up, and after I "upgraded" my accounts, the badge stated awarding.

So, it works like V.I.P./Destined One: Upgrade your account with Going Rogue to unlock the badge.

I'm guessing that anyone who Pre-Purchased has been getting the badge on characters since the servers came up yesterday.

An update on this. I haven't been able to get any Seers in Tina's new arc or in the new version of the Agent badge mission to count. That is one flaky badge.

Hi Guys,

just to clarify please,

Defeat badges -

Desdemona I get by doing a Vill/rogue tip mission

Seers I get by doing the new Tina's arc

Praetorian Clockwork I get by doing ??

Thanks

Praetorian Clockwork work fine, and you should be able to get that one on either Tina or Maria's new arcs. Tina's The Instant Army arc in the 40-45 level range is chock full of the new Clockwork. Seers, on the other hand, don't seem to be counting, but I have yet to do Maria's arc to see if they work there. Maria's A Hero's Epic arc would be the best place to test them out, as the mission in Mother Mayhem's asylum is full of Seers. In just about any other mission that they're in, the Seers are mixed in fairly evenly with other Praetorian mobs that don't have badges associated with them.

The other option would be to wait until existing characters gain access to Praetoria and street sweep level 1s in Nova Praetoria...

Given that Gamestop/EBGames Canada hasn't got my preorder yet (grumble), I was able to test this myself.

The seers in Mother Mayhem's missions do count. The seers that are <Imperial Guard> faction (later missions) do not count.

That would explain why sometimes in Beta they counted, and other times they didn't. Two different faction tags. Makes perfect sense now. Thanks.

Oh, and since I didn't see any mention here, you can get Eye of the Storm as a level 50 Hero from the "An Unstable Detonator" tip mission. Maelstrom appears in the Hero choice from that tip, and the way that the Vigilante choice is worded, I assume he's there, too.

Note that on the maps the stars indicate badge markers and the arrows indicate the resistance plaques (and relative direction you should face). Click thumbnails for larger version. For convenience, the Rail Rider multiple part explore badge markers are on these maps as well.

Eight (8) badges are listed here, but the linked map shows nine (9) stars. Do we have one accidental extra star, or is your list missing one badge?

The ninth is one part of the 3 part Rail Rider badge (CTA explore). It is in the multi-part section.

  • Rail Rider - CTA explores
    • Nova Praetoria - ( (-4551.4 -187.3 469.7))
    • Imperial City - ( (-2383.9 -238.3 755.3))
    • Neutropolis - ( (2226.0 -212.8 1111.3))
Specifically it is the yellow disk (CTA) in the lower part of the inner island.

Do Failed Experiments spawn anywhere outside of missions? I defeated all those I could find in my missions (I confess, I haven't done all the Neutropolis arcs* -- trying to save some stuff for other characters), but I have... I think every other Praetoria badge and am ready to begin the invasion of Primal Earth.

I searched Neutropolis Underground with no success, and I certainly didn't see any FE above ground (just regular ghouls).

I suppose I could just leave it undone and wait for the arcs to show up in Ouroboros, but... it would just be irksome to leave with unfinished business.

*I did all of Crusader and the first two Warden contacts. If the final Warden or either of the Loyalists can complete my set, please let me know and I'll do that, gladly.

Aaron Walker, the first Warden contact in Neutropolis, has a mission with them.

Sadly, I've already completed his missions and the contact following him (which was, instead of what I needed, more Clockwork and Syndicate... like I didn't earn THOSE badges back in NP.)

HOw does one get into the BAF to get the badge in there? Dratted forcefields.

Oh, I thought you meant the storylines from the two previous zones, my misunderstanding. There are plenty of them in the other paths' Neutropolis arcs, though I forget which ones exactly.

Hi Snow Globe,

firstly I really hope that you now have your GR stuff from gamestop, that situation sucks

And secondly thank you for the research on the Seers and Mother Mayhem.

I am now about to go get the badge by using the Asylum mission from that arc but because I am thick, I wondered if there is any way to do that without doing the previous 6 missions to get to it?

I did run the first three last night and all I saw were DE and scanners. I will be solo so may have to do a couple of runs even at +4. Can I farm the mission through flashback by logging out and back in again with out completing the mish?

Thanks

You'll have to do the preceding missions to get to it if you're doing it through Ouroboros. It's not terrible, though. You'll have to face Chimera, Nightstar and Black Swan alone, but you get helpers against Bobcat, Neuron and Battle Maiden. You are exactly correct in how to farm for mobs in an Ouroboros arc, log out and back in to reset.

Hi Ms Mesmer,

thanks for clearing it all up. I have just done all the missions past defeating Battle Maiden and so am all set for the asylum now (lol actually the same in real life I think!).

After spending weeks crouched in front of a CoT guardian for the Immortal badge i really don't know why I am whining about having to do a few quick missions to get the Seers badge Must be that "Grumpy old man" syndrome kicking in
Cheers

Edit to add: well serves me right! About 20 mins after I posted the above I logged in to find I was back at the start of the mission to defeat Chimera. It transpired that in the 45 minutes I was logged out the server had crashed and had been rolled back to get it up and running
So it now means I got all the AV's to take down again. Goes to find the "Suck it up " straw.
