What Quality of Life things would you like to see?
I'd love a "Tray Lock" button for the power trays. maybe at the far right side of each of the trays.
Clicking it would make it so that the bar would not let power icons move, which has happened a bunch lately mouse clicking in laggy situations. It's disconcerting having Build UP, Boost Range, Full Auto, and Flame Thrower all switch positions.
Most importantly, clicking "Tray Lock" button would not allow a tray to cycle its number. Nothing is more annoying, and sometimes deadly, than reaching up to tray 3 to mouse click a power in slot 1 and miss, thus, changing the whole tray to tray 2 or 4... until i can carefully get it back.

"Together we entered a city of strangers, we made it a city of friends, and we leave it a City of Heroes."
I'd like the Friends list window to bleedin' well remember that I set it to Global Friends, expanded view, sorted by Status.
Having to do that every damn time I log onto a different alt is somewhat of an irritation.
Warning:
The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.
SG, coalition calendars
SG, coaltion message boards
In-game description of PvP mechanics (bonus points for showing effects of DR in the PvP descriptions of powers)
Recipes should show if one's vault contains the required salvage
In-game tracker that shows how much damage has been mitigated by (de)buffs
Green numbers that only show how much damage has actually been healed; if the number is < 1, no number displayed
In-game tracker that shows offensive contributions of all teammates (mobs defeated, damage delivered)
I'd be happy with only ONE change:
* Adjustable Range for "Tab To Next Enemy" It's frustrating as ... well, something that's REALLY, REALLY frustrating! How many times have I been tabbing through enemies, searching for someone in the group gathered around me to storm kick into next summer, when, suddenly, I'm targeting the Rikti Drone waaaaay over on Hamburger Hill? Whaa? It makes me a sad panda. PS: Bow ties are still cool. |

One of the QoL features I wanted for a long time we actually have now--the ability to send inf/objects between characters. The fact that it is cross server and can be sent to our global (and therefore accessible from ANY character) makes it even more awesome. When I18 hits and we can send stuff to literally any of our characters on any server without regards to them being a hero or villain, it will be the cherry on top.
I know some people think we should be able to send more than one item at a time, but I get why we can't. Storage is something that has always been at a premium in CoH. Allowing us to send entire stacks at once would just encourage people to use their mailbox as a huge storage system. Sure, it can still be done, but it's a lot harder to do it, and keep it organized, when you can only send one at a time.
There are still two things I would like to see, but I don't really expect to any time in the near future...
1 - Offline SuperGroup Invites
While the usefulness of this is obvious, if not done properly it could also become quite spam-o-rific. Maybe link it to the email system so that only friends can send you offline SG invites?
I know that with side switching coming in a few short days, this feature may be even more useful as people drop their SG in order to shift from one side or the other.
2 - Offline SuperGroup Promotions/Demotions
This one SHOULD be easier to implement than the invites and is also quite useful. Well, I SAY it should be easier to implement, but there again, I am not privy to how the SG rank data is stored. There may be a very good logistical reason WHY a person has to be online in order to be promoted/demoted.
In any event, there have been many times when someone has been due for a promotion in an SG and it was delayed because I wasn't able to catch them while they were online. Would have been nice to be able to promote them while I was there so they would have it waiting for them when they returned.

Oh, and there is another, sort of QoL feature I have been thinking about for a while now, that may actually increase the income of NC Soft slightly. A limited number of free server transfers (as in 1 to 3, not 10 to 20) a month that do NOT carry over and accumulate. Not enough for the free ones to have a HUGE impact on the bottom line, but just enough to encourage people to make use of the feature. Then, if they want to move those characters back they can either wait out the rest of the month, or pony up the money to purchase a server transfer.
If this is done, it should definitely NOT be part of the Veteran Rewards system. This is something that would be even more useful to new players than older ones. For example, a new player comes in, creates a character, is chugging along for a few days, but finds they have difficulty finding teams because they happened to land on a less-populated server. If they had a free transfer or two, they could simply move their shiny new character to a more populated server and carry on. As it stands, their only course of action is to create a new character on another server and carry on. Not a huge deal to someone who has been around a while and can get through the first 20 to 30 levels in a couple of days, but a much bigger deal for someone who is new, and may be a pill that is slightly bitter to swallow and gives a negative first impression.
EDIT: On the topic of cross-server teaming as well as the Server Transfers, I did find it interesting back when they first announced paid transfers, that they included the following statement...
"Customers who are interested in taking advantage of the Character Transfer service should know that it is possible in the future that we may make changes to the game that would remove the need to Transfer servers. One example of such a change would be a “server-less” game configuration where all players can group with anyone, without the restriction of which server they play on. We are not committing to this “server-less” configuration, and in fact there are no plans to implement a “server-less” environment this calendar year, but because we are charging a fee for these services, it is important that our players understand that the possibility exists. We want to be very clear in this regard so that those who do decide to make use of a Server Transfer, when it becomes available, understand that they may not need it in the future. " |

I prefer
/macro TN target_enemy_near but that's me. I like clicking buttons, not getting lost on my keyboard and risking hitting R accidentally. |
I also rebind Auto Run to Shift+R, so that I don't hit it by accident (used to get a lot of debt from the R key ... )
Both of these are saved to my default bind file so that new characters always start his way.

QOL addition to the Market interface screen...
1) make the Salvage setting open up automatically to the Invention salvage, instead of whatever it defaults to now (Base?)
2)allow me to customize my own Market interface screen... probably too much to ask for... but I'd love to organize my own, it would fill the screen totally, be opaque, have permanent window areas for my own salvage, and recipes, and enhancements along the right side... etc. etc.

to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!
Another thing I'd like to see:
A way to lock down certain parts and colors in the Character Creator so you can click "Random" and only randomize those features you aren't married to yet.
The one little thing I would like to see is an entry in the AH that tells you what an NPC will pay for something. For that matter, I should be able to sell stuff right from the AH interface.

Another vote for being able to invite/promote/demote offline SG members ... and there needs to be an SG leader "logbook" of such actions.
Raise the capacity of SG salvage racks to be on par with the rest of the SG storage units. The so-called hoarding issue has been proven to be a fallacy. With the merging of the markets, the argument is even more ridiculous.

YUMMY Low-Hanging Fruit for BASE LUV
1. Offline SG invites! please??!
2. Log out to character selection screen.
I would like to see the buffs/debuffed icons an enemy target has on th target window.
1. A Teleport to Contact temp power
2. I'm 100% with Obsidius: More options for temp power theme, eg why are all flight powers the same #$%ing jet pack? What if I use magic, can't I get a pack-less flight power? Why can't I buy a longbow jetpack or a goldbricker jetpack? Why are they all the same #$%^ing one?
3. temp powers with larger stack sizes. Three venom grenades? Three? Three Vanguard psi bombs? Ok, sell them in batches of three, but let them stack to 30 or something.
4. insp vendor in the hospital
5. insp vendors who sell wakies, because with the ability to combine three, it's just annoying. Go ahead and raise the price to 150, and save me the time, I'm ok with that
6. all costume pieces available for all body models. I want dresses on my men, and I want that's and muscles on my women.
7. delete about 4/5 of the merit vendors, it's like there are more of them than mobs.
8. Gold ticket roll = 5400 tickets, merit random roll = 20 merits, both give the exact same
result, allow conversion at rate of 300 tickets to 1 merit or 20 merits to 5000 tickets. (I realize this will never happen because you could use tickets to choose specific recipes. Sadness).
9. Remove the "talk to pvp zone liaison" quests or at least give them a more interesting flavor.
10. Give a reward for the AE tutorial. 5 tickets would be enough. But something.
11. radio/paper missions can be picked up from any zone, mission appears in correct zone for difficulty level.
12. allow autocomplete (not just abandon, but complete) for any mission including timed missions and all the ones you currently can't abandon (aura mission, cape mission, DJ Zero mission, patron arc finale's etc). If I'm having difficulty, then I should be able to complete the mission. Period. No exceptions.
13. SG Member notes. Meaning I put a note on a character in the SG that says "bob's alt" and any member can read it and see it.
14. more unique hero/villain enemies on missions. I don't like warehouse after warehouse full of generics, give me a named enemy on at least half of my missions. Don't have to be EB power, but as a hero I should fight 3 super villains before leaving Atlas Park, and at least 1 in the tutorial.
15. @ Redside Devs: please, for the love of God have mercy on us. Remove Arachnos and Longbow from half or more of the story arcs that feature them and put in any ANY other faction. Please I am on my knees begging here.
16. Let Devouring Earth enemies other than the rocks level to 50. boy those missions are boring when it's 100% rocks. Not hard, just boring.
17. My #1 request: I don't care what David Nakamura says about it, I want a huge femal body model.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Didn't read through the whole thread but I'll repeat what I've asked for in the past.
A way to see your global friends list from the character selection screen. That way, if I see a friend on Triumph, blue side, level "X" I can pick an appropriate character to join him/her with.
Please oh please, with sugar on top?

As a regular PuG leader, in this situation I'd ask my team to travel back to some zone without having a mish up, something I don't like to do as leader.
Good idea Gavin!
I'd love to see a prompt added to the Teleport to Mission power that would pop up if you hadn't set your mission. As it is now, it just teleports you to the first one in the list. PITA for such a long recharge power.

Improved Map. I'd like to be able to toggle off Merit Vendors (actually, make them DEFAULT to off too. >_<), so that I can better explain to a newbie how to find things on the map. That's just painful. As an added bonus, let your team see a Thumbtack you put on the map (and make the thumbtack use the same color as your random name color!)
Small thing, but a good map makes entering a new zone or just being a new player far easier. The Merit Vendors really messed the map up.
Also, mousewheel zooming on the map.
Ooh, and a filter option to turn on highlights of Day Job Areas.
Love a lot of the suggestions made already.
A couple from me would be.
The ability somehow to see which of my characters needs that badge/tf/sf without having to keep a spreadsheet or log each of them on to check.
The ability to attach more than one item to an email.
And please please please more than 18 base storage items and lots more stuff for base building.
