I've been gone for a couple months.
When did they take away rep? o.o

Uh, it was announced, Roberto. It's even at the very top of every forum, "Announcement: Upcoming Forum Changes" - it's a "global" announcement just like the forum rules and phishing announcements.
OP: I survived the forumgeddon from EU and NA being merged, when the forum was down for several days. A few hours is easy-cheese.

Was it announced ahead of time tho Agge?
I don't check those pages first thing, maybe it was.
I knew there was something in that section about it, didn't know if it was a Heads-up kinda thing or after-the-fact, or just a Discussion about it, after-the-fact.
They announced that the servers would be down, but they didn't know that it would also take down authentication for the forums. So no, it wasn't really announced ahead of time.
Er, well, not sure that the inability to login was ever mentioned. That certainly isn't in the gold announcement.

Finished reading Temples, Tombs and Hieroglyphs.
Ate lunch.
Went to work. (still at work.)
... *shrug* No biggie. (Add in the daily webcomics, DA, news reading, etc.)

The forums asked me for my username/password, I went "huh? ok." Didn't work. Wrong one, it said. I tried another combo, and another. Nothing.
Began to be concerned that someone had hacked into my account. Went to the master NCSoft account and logged in fine there. Another "huh? ok" occured.
Not sure what was wrong, but wanting to take precautions, tried to change the passwords for both accounts. Just to not make it so easy to the hacker. The system told me I could not change my passwords and needed to contact support. A worried "huh? o...k..." took place.
Filed a ticked with support with two issues, no forums and innability to change account passwords.
Before they even replied it had hit me. . . I had forgotten all about the forums upgrade. A huge wave of relief took over me, followed by guilt for making a poor support person read yet another reply from an idiot.

While I knew about the game maintenance, the Forums being unavailable
was a complete surprise...
Alas, I was at work so there was nothing for it but to spend the rest of the
afternoon doing the stuff I get paid for.... 
D*mn meddling devs forcing me to work for a living - utterly hateful...

It caught me by surprise, but not much of a problem for me, just went along with a normal day, excluding anything I do on the forums or in-game.

I didnt know about it till you just mentioned it. Just figured i had a caps in the wrong part of my login or something. i went grocery shopping and played some dragon quest XI blissfully ignorant of anything. I unlocked rangers, woo, hello higher crit rate.

I was worried it was me, or that they'd been hacked, since when I switched from trying and failing to log on to the forums to accessing my account I got a security alert from Firefox.

That was among the most miserable 12 hours I've spent in a long time.
No pithy Arcanaville statements.
No kvetching from BillZ.
No throwdown, rep losing (if we had rep anymore) forum threads with Steele Magnolia or Dispari.
No EvilGeko being, well, EvilGeko.
It was horrible! Devs, don't EVER kill the Forums again! I'll do something crazy if you do! I swear I will.
