Am I having time zone issues again or did they forget to do this? It is the 27th right and 10am ish Eastern now? Because all the servers are up.

The last major patch they did interfered with my internet provider and got them blocked. THere was about a week where I could not log in, literally. The log in screen kept erroring out.

Hopefully this will not be that bad.

My question to a dev, if this has not been asked yet, is; Do I need to remove what items I have up on the auction house to prevent errors? I do not feel like losing stuff.

My guess would be that the fewer stuff people have up for sale or are bidding on, the smoother the marker merge will be.

The day before the merge happens, I think it'd be good if as many people as possible cancelled any current bids, and collected all their bought items - we should all try and make the merge work as smoothly as we can.

Actually, there is in my state. No price exemptions, and it's considered "food for immediate consumption". Though even 8% tax comes out to exactly 33 cents (well, 32.4, which is rounded up, because that's how money works, it's rounded in favor of the company).

But yeah, you can only get a 5-pack of Wrigley's for that. Even a FastTrac slushie is 2-3 times that (.69, or .75 after tax here). Not to mention that the EULA explicitly states that they don't guarantee uninterrupted access to the game.

Dammit, now I want to run down to FastTrac and get a slushie. They have sour apple....

If I had to guess, UM has been causing some major server meltdown, and they're upgrading for that and the anticipated load GR will bring.

Yesterday and the same thing today. Was there any actual maintenance on either day? Did they get the dates wrong or something?

Dec out.

UM is purely clientside.

As for perparing for GR, etc, - why it's only NA servers? Granted, EU servers being in Germany (IIRC), there being only 4 of them and NA low populaion being EU high population may mean that server hardware is upgraded NA side and not EU side plus the ability to back up EU servers much faster...

Or that they just stagger maintenance...

Extened maintance, you say?

Some jerk hacker has obviously been dupin too many rares.

61866 - A Series of Unfortunate Kidnappings - More than a coincidence?
2260 - The Burning of Hearts - A green-eyed monster holds the match.
379248 - The Spider Without Fangs - NEW - Some lessons learned (more or less.)

The servers need weeks of preparation to adjust to the awesomeness of GR.

For all those people that want CoH to be more like WoW here is the perfect first step!

At least it's only once...so far.

well could be worse i guess...

in your Begining, there was Darkness... and in your ending, there will be Darkness...

it is not a boast... just the way it will be...

Maybe it just me, but for an extended time like this, I think we should get a bit more explanation than simply "maintenance." It doesn't have to be long and detailed, but give the community a bit more to go on.

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

... Hit it ...

Strange. That's exactly what went through my head when I read the announcement. Man, it's really going to be hot if Jupiter turns into a star.

Lisa stares at announcement in shock then utters a pathrtic wimpering "Oh FudgeSticks."

I am off tomorrow. I was going to try and get some levels on my Blaster......

12 hours!!!!!

During the day!!!!

And I have to go to bed early because I start my day at 3:00AM Friday

Why, oh why, could they not do this at night?

I know, I know, because most people are home at night, and are at work and school during the day.

For the majority of the playerbase this is indeed the best time....for me....sigh.

I know and I accept that they could not please everyone, but I am going to get almost no playtime when I thought I would have the full day, and planned for it...my household chores are done, everything is ready for work on Friday, meals are all taken care of....

Yes, I would like cheese with my whine because I am indeed whining.

Lisa-Glum, down in the mouth, not happy. . .oh well.

I'm trying to figure out what explanation is worse...

  • That they didn't know that it would take the forums with it...
  • Or that it didn't occur to anyone to mention it.

I was wondering if it was just me, seeing as there was still 400+ people logged in. I guess they were Euro people, maybe?

Market Merge != Server Merge. The hero and villain markets will all use the same pool of items/bids as of Issue 18.

Oh cool i guess.... /raises prices by 100% for heroes to buy mwahaha

I was hoping it was server mergers ...cause I think it would be nice that they get nice new hardware up and pile us on to a few servers...oh well. there goes wishful thinking.
