This is a group that, for the first nine years of its existence, had a mascot named Snapper. It's sort of a grand, goofy comic book tradition.
I could understand a name like Skippy Sidekick for a community rep but, according to the Dev Digest, Skippy is a dev!
I just can't wrap my brain around it. Picture the Justice League with Superman, Batman, Skippy, Wonder Woman..... does that work for you? |

Yeah, you can't always use names that people expect. I knew someone who had two cats named Bob and Fred.

hmm.... My preference for someone with that nickname would be Harry 'Snapper' Organs.

I love pets with nontraditional pet names. It's a wonderful thing.

A friend of mine had a dog, a cat, a lizard, a snake and a horned toad. They were all named "Fred".

you're gonna need a bigger bar of soap.
ok, moving on, his name is intentionally supposed to be "sidekickish" before robin became a walking linkin park song, sidekicks used to be goofy and silly, it fits the theme. I rather like it. besides, jay is apparently "nice axe" where can you go from there? did he also have a half-a-bee named eric?

No (and I have no idea what that's a reference to).
He just decided that the perfect name for anything was "Fred", way back in the '80s. He tried it on his wife, but she ended up smacking him so he stopped.
EDIT: Ah...surprising that a big Monty Python fan like me hasn't heard that before.

You just came to make a comment in the thread, that's all. You weren't expecting a kind of Spanish Inquisition!
"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
No, sadly, they were each Fred individually.
And I seem to have left Fred the turtle off the list.
EDIT: Mind you, he had other animals (another dog and cat and a wide variety of snakes) that weren't named Fred, but at least one of each type had to be.
Dec out.
