Top Ten things I wish were in City of X...

A Funhouse.. I want to address THIS idea... this is great... we need one big giant funhouse PER SIDE... and a new one for the Going Rougue area.

Lots of mirrors and checker patterns filled with trap doors and all sorts of things. invisible teleporters to other areas... all kinds of neat stuff would be fantastic in a fun-house sort of way!

THIS and the Chinatown idea... maybe we dont add as Zones, but just make these big enterable instances in pre-existing zones... new buildings!

We could also stand to have some coffee shops or something where we can actually enter and hang out in like it is in RL.. just a few, not a lot.. here and there... maybe 1 hotel per side where you can rent a room and actually go in to it and hang, stay a while... go swimming at the hotel pool... hahaha.. watch some damned HBO.

I am being funny in a sense, but its intriguing, is it not?

Being able to carry NPC hostages like that would be cool. As would being able to carry/drag defeated teammates.
And carrying more than one.. say, three hostages? Solo? One on the left shoulder, one on the right, drag the third with your teeth!

APB and our timers come to mind.

We've already got items ("get information from computer," etc.) that have an interruptable timer to perform an action. Over in APB, you have actions (raid, break in, mug, etc.) that also have timers (that can be interrupted.)

Apply them to more places.

- Villainside - mug. Simply because heroside, you can get INF for rescuing people getting beat up/purses snatched/etc. Not a LOT, but still. Villainside, they just run.

- Take Hostage / Arrest X - if you can manage to get them without getting interrupted, no reinforcements show up. Otherwise, their cries alert everyone.

- Interrogate. If you don't kill a boss (say) right away and start to "interrogate" when they're under, oh, 20% health, if you're not interrupted - get a tip. (Not neccessarily the next issue's Tips from the announcement, but something building to a mission/arc related to the group.)

actually, yeah, i re-edited the post to mention areas, rather than zones, the chinatown or kheldia would be better in existing zones, just take a corner that isnt used for anything in steel, cap or such and redo it. I'd really prefer to cool it on the zones and just revamp existing zones, at least blueside, otherwise you dilute the population too much .

I just came in to say that the Yoko Ono LP throwing would be especially funny if when you cast it and it animated, that it used that screeching monkey Moko Jono from the PowerPuff Girls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=durO4...eature=related

/gotta wait for it just a little bit...

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Thanks so much for that thoughtline on my Yoko Ono idea.. yeah I do like that... they need to have a cat in heat or a dog getting run over... and that would provide the sound that Yoko wont legally provide, and it wont be any different than her own music!

I had roommates that once put their speakers up to the heating vent and pounded out "Pray for Peace, John" (basically Eric Clapton feedback and Yoko shrieking wordlessly for about 20 minutes) while I was in bed. I did, indeed, think for a moment upon awakening that someone was killing our cats.

EDIT: Wikipedia fixes my ancient memory. It's Side Two of Live Peace in Toronto 1969 from the Plastic Ono Band and the two songs are "Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking for Her Hand in the Snow)" and "John, John (Let's Hope for Peace)"

More in-zone content for the zones we have. Fires in Steel Canyon and Troll raves seem to be it, which is sad.

More NPC citizens and vehicles on the streets. This is a CITY, not a country neighborhood. Where are the traffic jams?

More simple, heroic costume parts. Wide variety and overly-detailed pieces are cool and all, but maybe we should revisit our roots and create more simplistic designs so we can have a wider variety of options for the tights wearing crusaders of justice. This is, after all, a game about superheroes.

I agree with all 3. Although with the second point, some citizens are congregated in their walking paths in some zones (i.e., Independence Port) and other areas hardly see any. More vehicles and pedestrians may increase lag, though.

I'm all for more patterns. One that really comes to mind that could use several options is the magic pattern. I don't like the current one. Where's the stars and moon pattern?

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Well, it is a city half destroyed by an invasion and still periodically under attack from the same enemies, so I'm surprised there's any civilians left at all.

Here's my list:

  1. More casual outfits for more "street" characters.
  2. Better character and world models. I think computers these days can handle a few more polygons so that my character's boobs don't look like a roughly cut-out foam piece.
  3. Addition of vehicles and removal of the really stupid tram/ferry system. I just want my character to summon a car, ride it, and the bring up the loading screen to load into a new zone.
  4. Revamp of Mercy Island
  5. Revamp of the UI. I find the current UI too bulky with too many unessesary borders and whatnot.
  6. High resolution textures for world and costumes
  7. Overhaul of bases and base editting
  8. I'd like to see character origins and enhancement stores play a more significant role in the game. I don't know how, but I still want it!
  9. I want most of the NPC costume pieces unlocked for player characters. The universe would not implode if someone, somewhere makes a Manticore clone; instead, it'd give everyone a massive set of new costume options.
  10. Power customization for pool powers. Gawd, I hate Hasten.

Oh now that would be sweet. Especially since, as someone else mentioned, we've got that whole over-the-shoulder bodybag thing (especially when they dump the bag on the ground *plunk*)!

Yes!

Actually, the heroes and villains we run into periodically in bank/mayhem missions? I'd occasionally like to see them go zooming across the zone and have them dash into the bank, and when you click on them, get messages like, "Sorry [PC NAME], but there's a robbery in progress and it's up to me to stop it!" (or villainside, "I got a bank to rob, kid, why not go steal a baby's candy or something more your level?")

top ten things I want:

10: New animations for older powersets.
9: 'Peaceshade' and 'Warbringer'. Merge the Kheldians
8: /em Breakdance
7: Removal of Stamina. Global endurance reduction of all powers.
6: Free Travel power at level 8. No more wasted power slots.
7: End Game content
6: Less monotinous soloing content
5: Costume colors that change color in combat. (Blue armor that changes red when entering combat for example)
4: 100% proliferation. Ice armor for brutes, Thermal Radiatino for Defenders, etc.
3: More Explosions
2: Less crowded 8-man team experience
1: Water-based powersets.
0: The actual implication of my top 10...

Was discussing this with a friend earlier, what I'd like to see is a bit more pvp, bank missions for instance, would like to see a pvp version of a bank mish where heroes and villains collide. Maybe some task forces where somewhere in the task force heroes and villains meet to do battle.. Just some thoughts

I want Giant Atomic Ants. I would be insanely happy if I got the opportunity to fight the cast of Them! Because, really, we're in a comic book. We need giant bugs (and monkeys).

For those of you who arn't familiar with it, this is Them!

It would be pretty funny if they tried to run away and you had to chase them down.

There's only three things I'd want:
- More costume pieces
- An option to do Cel-shaded graphics like Champions has (the ONLY thing I liked about CO was the cel-shading)
- Inspirations for +recharge speed
