We actually have more vowels than English! A, E, I, O, U, W and Y.

Here in North Wales it's only really in the villages that you find fluent Welsh people. Also, the further west you go the more they speak the language so there will probably be a lot more Welsh speakers in Anglesey than Wrexham, for example.

Also:

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i byd
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri
Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mad
Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed

Gwlad, gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad
Tra mor yn fur i'r bur hoff bau
O bydded i'r heniaith barhau

There's more but that's all that's sang.

The version of this I've never managed to find is the one they used to teach to the non welsh speaking rugby players in the national team. It's a collection of English words that sound fairly like the real welsh ones, but make very little sense. This was felt to be easier to learn and allowed them to belt out something approximately right when the anthems were sung.

Swedish and English are the only ones I would consider myself fluent in.

I have started to learn a number of other languages, but most of it has either been forgotten or I never learned that much to start with: Russian, Spanish, French, Finnish, Japanese, Korean and Esperanto.

Actually Perkele/Perkons/Perukunas/Perun is well... balto-slavic-finno-ugric pagan god usually associated with thunder and lightning.

In modern Latvian "perkons" means "thunder", in Lithuanian "perkunas" is both this and a curse (then again, my Lithuanian is... Well, it isn't.) and in modern Russian the word is well, not used for anything.

Anyway, I can speak Russian, English, Latvian (though it's bad), and kinda-sorta-almost understand French. They tried to teach me German in high school, but it was a miserable failure.

English, and enough german to get by working at a gig staffed by mostly germans.
I'm better at reading it, but not by much, and have been told by native germans that i speak the language in a slight black forrest region accent.... i assume this may mean i speak like a german redneck.

Schwiizerdüütsch for teh win!!

So, Swiss german dialect would be the native thing. Then of course German itself.

English comes next, I use it a lot at work, and I read most of my books in English, to keep in touch with the language.

Then there's some French, which I learned at school. I use it very seldom though, and it got alot worse in the last few years :-/

I'm from the North American side of the servers, so I hope I don't come off as intruding.

I only speak English fluently, but I know enough Spanish to be able to read and write it. I also made an effort to learn Russian that didn't turn out so well.

I am curious as to whether people would count the (joking) trilingual claim in my signature.

Its spelled Norwegian.

My languages are... English & Norwegian. That means that I have an easy time understanding Swedes and Danish aswell. (I lack however the skill to speak the two.)
Somehow Swedes has a hard time understanding Danish and the Danes have trouble understanding Swedish, but both of them understands Norwegian. (I've yet to come across a Dane or Swede that did not understand Norwegian)

Did French for a couple of years at high school, and it's probably as good as my woodworking skills (another subject that lasted two years at high school).
