See, this is the kind of thing that pisses me off. Next time you try to accuse me of doing something, make sure I actually did it. Or you can go make sure now. I'd LOVE to see a quote where I yelled about reinstating the prompt BEFORE it was reinstated. A link to the post would be very handy, too.

See, Bill, this is what I mean - someone makes a big stink out of something, then I end up taking heat for it just because I happen to share a stance. Yeah, that's one thing I can do without.

About the other crap... passing around blame... It's ridiculous and a waste of time to reply to Billz or anyone else about it further. It has been made clear over and over... but, quite frankly, people are complaining and whining and hating on players with a differing opinion instead of looking objectively at what was the case and what truly happened.
That's fine. It's your right to be that way. I won't even call you names for it or anything.
I'll just back anyone on getting an auto accept/decline option in there, because it is obviously a very desired thing.

I knew fully well that Slashman, or if not him someone else, would come along and post exactly what he posted in response to my post. These forums work like clockwork. You know this. You also know the futility in getting people to change their behaviors. Hell, the only reason I'm as nasty as I am so often is because I didn't accept that simple truth sooner.

So if you wish to turn out reactionary and bitter, keep tilting at that windmill.

I'm not going through the months of posts on these forums about this issue to see what you did or did not post - I'll take your word for it that you stayed out of it until now. So my apologies for my interpretation of your post.

Basically, Bubba called me out on WANTING the prompt back, and I'd lie if I said I didn't. I wanted the prompt back, but I want a lot of things. I may or may not have spoken on the subject once or twice prior to this thread, but it was mostly to air my frustration with the Mystic Fortune power itself, and I may or may not have said "I liked it better with the prompt." once or twice. I don't remember.

Point is, I never actually demanded the prompt be turned back on, partially because I don't believe making demands on the forums ever has any effect (despite what Castle may or may not have suggested), and partially because it's not a big deal. Mystic fortune bugs me, and people yelling at me about how it shouldn't bug me doesn't change that. No point in making a big stink out of it when the argument itself is more trouble than that stupid power can ever be.

By the same token, it kind of pissed me off when people got down into personal attacks over it, explaining what kind of bottom-dwelling scum those who wanted the prompt were, so OF COURSE I made a big deal out of it then. That kind of attitude is just rotten. It probably peaked at around the time someone suggested all of those who want the prompt to go play on some other server. The "vocal minority" insulting dismissals didn't help matters any.

Basically, I, and I dare say quite a few others, got into this debate more over the insults and dismissals involved in it, rather than over the merits of having or not having a prompt. That's why it kills me when we start throwing blame around - all it does is bog the argument down to the point where no-one WANTS to see it resolved.

This actually seems like the best solution to all the buff whining.

I'm running at the Sociopathy cap already, don't waste your buff on me.

And as for why I want the prompt, and especially that frelling rooting animation removed, I tend to team with...well, they're my in-game friends, and they're nice people, but sometimes they just do. not. get. simple gameplay concepts like "I'm actually paying attention to the fight to keep your Mystic Fortuning butt alive, so SAVE YOUR LAME BUFF AND DO SOMETHING USEFUL."

Okay, here you go. It was actually after it was reinstated, but still, I think most people would agree these are pretty harsh words.*

Hideous, I'll grant you. Useless? Perhaps if you're softcapped to all positions or all types. If not, they're still helping plug up some defensive hole.

Which cold shields are we talking about?

I assume he's referring to the shields from Cold Domination, Ice Shield (15% def to Smashing, Lethal, Melee for a defender) and Glacial Shield (15% def to energy, negative energy, AoE, range). To my understanding there are some characters that can cap to all positions (Super Reflexes and Widows are two, I believe), but for the most part softcapped toons lean more toward either smashing/lethal or ranged/AoE.

Plugging holes with shields sounds... hurtful. Whatever floats your boat though.

Yes, I am referring exactly to being softcapped to all positions. For some reason my /SR Scrapper is always the one who ends up on teams with Colds. I don't tell them not to buff me because I realize that for some people remembering who to skip is a pain, but I do not need the shields in that case, and I wish I could just dismiss them.

Dont know if this was intentional but I chuckled at the imagery.

This pretty much sums up my feelings over this whole mess. Well that and feeling that painful things should happen to the person that told Castle to put the prompt back after a lot of threads requesting that it be removed in the first place.

While I may 'oops' a couple of times over multiple missions, when someone asks not to be SB'd I usually have to problem remembering to skip them. If you never ask then odds are, that they will always forget to skip shielding you.
