Gaussian's Syncronized Fire-Control Proc
anyone know if this is worth doing?
I think it would be. A chance for build up every ten seconds sounds pretty nice to me
It lasts 5.25 (or 5) seconds instead of buildup's normal 10 seconds. There may or may not be a cooldown period associated with it. I've never gotten a straight answer for that.
Be well, people of CoH.

Yeah, and there is only a 5% chance. I am thinking I will be better investing my slot on some extra knockback protection in dark embrace
You can see it activate if you edit your chat tab or are watching your combat logs. It is under the healing received category, don't ask me why and it doesn't say the same thing as it does when you hit build up. It says something like your attack power is increased temporarily.

does the 5% chance hit enough to consider doing it? My KB protection is 37, If i don't use this proc i can get it to 41. I am just trying to see if it is worth it.
Take the 41 KB protection instead. Gaussian's Proc is a waste of a slot unless you're going for set bonuses.

WARNING: I bold names.

I'm not so sure the "check every 10 seconds" thing is correct. Slotting procs on Health and Stamina work that way, because they tick every 10 seconds with a duration of 10.3 seconds, but I don't think FA does.
According to Mids, FA ticks every 0.5 seconds with a duration of 0.75 sec. That means that you should see the proc fire every 10 seconds on average. It lasts 5.25 seconds and won't stack. So on average you should have the Build-Up buffing you roughly 5 seconds out of every 15, give or take.
But I have to say I've never actually six-slotted FA with Gaussian, so I've never seen it in practice.

imo the proc is only useful in an actual build up/aim power since those are the few seconds you will always be attacking while in toggles it could go off any time and be wasted.
I run this Proc on a couple different toons in Focused Accuracy or Tactics. As noted, fine to get the set bonus but it does not fire often enough to make a big difference. It is not five seconds out of every 15 I can promise you that.

Goon keeping it Gank-u-ster
someone once did the math and it was something like a 2.5% average damage bonus assuming your character is constantly attacking.
there's better things to waste slots on if you're gonna put it into tactics.
Yeah, I'd only recommend it if you need it for set bonuses.
The only times I would consider using aside from the defense set bonuses are in something like follow up in claws or soul drain from Dark Melee, because for whatever reason, it always procs when there's a tohit check involved and it's succesful from my experience. Maybe it's changed, been a while since I've played my DM/SD seriously.
@TheKatalyst
My **** is bleeding.
A regular damage proc in an oft used power would serve a lot better to buff damage.
Gaussian's proc seems like a waste in a toggle power. Hard to make sure you actually get to utilize its benefits when it does finally fire....unless you are constantly attacking, which in most environments is nearly impossible to do.
If you slot the chance for build up in tactics, how does it work? Does it check every 10 seconds or so or what? Was thinking about doing it, didn't know if it would be a waste of a slot or what.
