Healix can't Haiku.
In Haiku, syllables must
go "five, seven, five."

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

If you are focusing on counting syllables and forcing the thought behind the Haiku into such narrow conditions then you are missing the art behind them.

Sticking to 5-7-5 is akin to a novice cameraman stating something vacuous like "lens flare is NEVER a good thing" because he's still operating from a starter's rulebook instead of his own skill as an artist.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, Dollymistress! I was really enjoying posting till that verbal wipeout...one of the most beautiful forms of Haiku I ever read was this one, and it doesn't follow the rules.

Oh, but it DOES follow the rules...

Here is the interesting part. Every time I have looked into Haiku, it tells that syllables are different than "on" which is what the measurements refer to. When translated into English traditional Japanese haiku gain or lose syllables (as defined by english). Also English haiku are not limited to the 5/7/5 and there are other patterns in modern Japanese haiku as well.

A haiku is a form of poem. Saying they must all conform to 5/7/5 is like saying that all poetry must rhyme. Yes, a large portion of poetry does rhyme, but generally there are forms of it that do not. (Notably haiku generally do not) Art is art, let it be and let people have their fun?

"A haiku is this
but form found differently
amused here"
