Ok, im about to ask the unthinkable from the forum goers for a Scrapper I want to gear for PvP.

Im going with a Claws/Invln build.Im requesting the following for my build.

High Global Recharge IOs, additional Damage through Global Damage IOs, Additional Resist IOs, Moderate Recovery IOs, and minor to Moderate Accuracy IOs.

My focus will be on excellerating my Dull Pain to be recharged fast first and formost, and the rest of the requested IO increases are secondary concern.

I would perfer not having it in a Mids format, but a mapped out IO and Slot chart for use.

Thank you for your time.I want to be a Vanguard Sword Soldier in PvP, and will look as such.

Purple IOs will be fine, I finally have a farmer I can live with.

Claw's lack of buildup makes it suck for pvp.
And all lethal damage, which EVERYONE will have resists against.

But I agree. Low overall power + only lethal won't get you past anything in pvp.

I'm not sure you really want that combo for PvP... I don't know about invul but claws is terrible at PvP

Fire/reg is one of the better sets for scrappers in PVP

Then on top of that are you doing zone pvp or arena?

Yes the builds are that much different between zone and arena

Then which zones because the different zones require different builds

You're asking a HUGE favor of us here. First of all, we'd need to come up with a competent PvP build for a horrible powerset combination (PvP wise, that is). This wouldn't be a problem if someone actually played a Claws/Inv in PvP and had a build ready, just waiting to be posted, but because that's not the case... Second, you want us to take it off of Mid's and make it into a spreadsheet, just for you? Nice. Want it on a silver plate, too?

You should at least listen to what other people have said on the PvP forums, give it a try and then post what you've come up with for criticism. This is the common method for everyone.

Trust me, if I had a good PvP build for Claws/Inv saved on Mid's, I'd post it here.

Just because you have some personal vendetta against mids doesnt mean we have to go along with it. People use mids because it is easy, and you are asking us to do something for you, that we do not do for ourselves. Good luck.

Also, DP is pretty freakin easy to perma. You would know if you put some time into your own toons before telling us to do the work for you.

PvP in this game is nothing like PvE. The devs pay little attention to it. There is little balance in pvp, the good pvp sets are THAT much better. That is why all the pvp guys sound like broken records.

My apologize for wanting to play something out of the normal, and if the build sucks, wouldnt that be my choice in the first place to play it?Im not sure telling me that I should go with more popular builds is the way to go when on a game that gives you choices past the popular builds reguardless of there performance.

As for asking for a build on a silver platter that isnt Mid's Grown?I dont know how difficult that would be, so I apologize yet again?

Also, I have no idea how easy it is to Perma Dull Pain, and I do have some small amount of knowledge for IOs, and Ill most likly be adding a Damage Proc to Focus, and use that attack alot in PvP.Might work, might not, but isnt that my call to try it?

No one is telling you that you can't play a claws/invul, what we're saying is that you are going to have very disappointing results.

Also if you want help with a PvP build I'd suggest going to the PvP section because most people on the scrapper boards don't PvP.

The popular PvP sets are popular for a reason.

Invuln sucks in PvP because the power that makes it good in PvE is useless in PvP. I'm talking about Invincibility. It gives you a defense boost based on the number of foes in melee range of you. First off, defense in PvP is like hiding behind a cardboard box in a gunfight. Second, no one is going to stay in melee range with you long enough to give you any kind of boost at all. Willpower has the same problem with RttC.

Claws is a DPS set rather than a burst damage set. In order to get good damage out of Claws you need to take advantage of your low cast time/fast recharging attacks to pile on the damage. No one is going to hold still long enough to let you do that. What you end up with is low cast time attacks that don't do much damage because PvP damage is deterimined by cast time. You will be using almost nothing but Focus and Shockwave in zones because only a brute is going to enter melee with you. And a brute will punch right through Invuln and kill you most of the time.

So you have the problem of not being able to kill any ranged opponents because your burst damage sucks, and probably not killing melee opponents because your secondary isn't going to keep you alive long enough for the DPS nature of Claws to get a kill.

My Claws/Regen gets a few kills, but he has a secondary better suited for PvP. I also didn't create him specifically for PvP, he's my main and I just happen to occasionally PvP with him. If I were creating a character JUST for PvP Claws/Invuln would be near the bottom of the list of sets I would use.

Here is a novel thought. Make your own build.

Here is the challenge I want to make a PVP Resistance based SR scrapper say with mmmmm......spines...no wait claws and I want it made for me and I want it paid for by the scrapper forum donations.

I like want NO or minimum attacks because I'm a bit strange, and I want all the travel powers because I like the freedom it provides.

If you fail on any part of this I will call you all names and refuse to look at this thread again.

I think that about covers it.....no wait I want to be able to farm 54 bosses.

But....I'm looking forward to the thread Fire-Minded starts in a month or so entitled "Why does my Claws/Invuln suck in PvP?!"

Go ahead and build what you want, but remember before you complain later that you were WARNED by multiple people and ignored what they had to say.

I think this thread is quite funny. It might be because in one thread you cry about being owned in PvP (by Stalkers, but the AT doesn't really matter) and in this one you want to build a Claws/Inv for it. What should we think about that?
