A Revamp for Rest.

I'm just making use of the /Ignore command right now. Frankly, theres nothing more that can be said that I have any interest in hearing, because it's all complete, trolling drivel.

At this point, I'm actually not sure which of us is trolling the other. You seem to be getting remarkably exercised over the idea that someone, somewhere, might not be working as hard on playing a game as you think they ought to.
Didn't you know? Video gaming is serious business, and we should listen to random people who, very loudly, try to dictate us what problems we should, or should not be having, or what we should, or should not do!

I liked this thread better when there was discussion of the merits of the suggestion and the reasoning behind it mixed in with the volleys of abuse.

Having a zero-recharge rest will not make resting after each spawn as fast as joining a team, using inspirations, or magically playing better. Resting after each spawn will still be the slowest way to go through content, and almost any other method will still be significantly preferable, so it's not like having a clue won't be rewarded anymore. It's just that the absolute worst possible performance in the game that actually admits forward progress will be somewhat faster and less frustrating. And I will happily support Paragon Studio's decision to make terrible, clueless, uncoordinated players happy enough that they continue playing and paying for the game that I also enjoy.

In short: when you oppose zero-recharge rest, you value punishing people for playing badly over getting money to make the game better. That's not very smart, IMO.

The only possible downside I can see to this is it might trick people into playing very safely. As in resting every spawn. They already think they need t3h h34l0rz, I would hate to see them making certain everything is utterly perfect before they dare think of advancing an inch.

I would still take that possibility over standing around like a moron waiting for my knee to become good enough to use again.

You know since they took the end out of brawl I no longer hold the belief that the timer on rest is a balance issue...just a hold over.

You, know, I just thought of something.

Arcanaville mentioned that block adds a nice balance quirk to CO, in that it provides a mechanism for non binary challenge, I.E. instead of asking if you can win, ask how much you have to block to win.

This would help in a sort of similar way at low levels: how much do I have to rest? It would also do much to make sets more balanced at low levels and make stamina less perceived as a requirement.

As for the idea to make it an out of combat boost while walking, I'm entirely for it. This is one of the things CO does better. You get automatic super fast regen out of combat, because delays between fights are just stupid.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

No it's not just you...what makes me chuckle is that they claim 'not to care what people think' and then go on and post suggestions...which means they DO care what people think otherwise they wouldn't be posting suggestions in the first place.

Anyway...on topic...yeah I support a rest revamp...perhaps not a 0 recharge but like say a 30 second recharge so it's not always there but you would still have to wait occasionally.

Other MMOs have a mechanic similar to rest it's just a money outlay (health restoring food, mana restoring drinks) they're inexpensive enough that you can easily afford the basic vendor bought foodstuffs to keep you going for a long while.

A zero-recharge Rest? Seems like a simple, useful change to me!

My score isn't red enough. I guess I'm not trying hard enough.
