Definitions of Servers
Champion - Weirdos. I've never gotten a good feel for the server. Everyone acts like a a bird or strange bug or something. Quick thinking, silent, alien. The tanks rule though. The others are strange twitchy reptiles.[I kid, I kid. Mostly.]

Seriously though, Champion was my main server for years. Lots of friendly, skilled players there. And some oddities as well. Especially redside.
Currently Champion and Virtue alternate somewhat randomly as my main server. Recently i've been playing on Virtue a bit more, but that's somewhat related to avoiding drama and playing redside mostly where Virtue has a much higher population.

Trialtester is a-wonderin': I was just wondering what you guys think is the "definition" of your server? I mean, what is considered to be the most remarkable thing in your particular server? |
Dec out.
Correct. Coming up last is no longer an issue. We now have a handle on our drinking binges and are able to function while still drunk from the night before.
Pinnacle. It's got Bill Z Bubba. And booze. |
Protector definitely is the "little server that could". Once we were known as lolprotector by mostly freedomites, because heh who was on the server? *chirps, echoes, etc* ... But Protector has a very tight family feel to it - even if we DO a lot of soloing (and we do) there's pretty much never going to be a time when someone CAN'T find a team. We're there for ya.
And, we have Badge and his maniacal nutty event ideas. Robot Rampages, Confuse Hamidon, etc. So if you're ever in need of being badly in xpdebt... come to Protector, where it'll be a blast getting to the Debt Cap

Victory is said to be the unofficial GLBT friendly server and in the time I spent there, I believe it. Nothing against the players, of course. Just a notable higher amount per capita of rainbow colored costumes or costumes with pink triangle logos and names like "American Pride" or "Pride Fighter", etc.
Pinnacle is my pretty much the only server I play on and I never noticed anyone too drunk to play. Course I'm high as a kite most the time so that could alter my perception...
...We used to have "New Player Welcoming Night, then we started that whole Mentor Project thing, so we're a "newbie-friendly" server.
We have our own "unofficial" internet radio station in http://kjsr.net. ... Again, I beg to differ. I know that "one member donating $600 to the Cat Tales Zoological Park in Mead, WA." very well, and he did it last November. I cannot vouch for the other parts of that wiki entry, though. |
I'll second everything here. As a matter of fact, the concept of "meet-and-greet the new players" was originally introduced on Protector and quickly spread to our neighbors. IMHO, it's the best kind of endgame content a vet player could hope to have.
And I'll add add: You're too humble.
It was you (and JanLee int the past) who donated at least 600$ to help care for Cimarron. The wiki may be referring to the first 600$ donation though, and therefore would need to be modified to reflect the current state of affairs: that (based on available info) Protector has donated at least 2400$ for the care of this animal.
Cimarron was adopted back in 2005 initially from donations given by players whose names have been lost now.

I play on Liberty... I feel it has the best of both worlds I can play solo all I want but when i want to team I can find one. Every time I have tried to play on freedom I get a flood of tells for SG invites and PUGs and more blind invites then on any other server I have ever tried.
List of my toons http://cit.cohtitan.com/profile/1854
Liberty- It is a very friendly server. Good mix of being able to solo and finding a team is never a problem, if you look and ask for one.
Wasnt my first server but its home to my first 50 and the other 17 that have came since then.
No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded...

Virtue's where I go when I want to relax and be someone else.
On a typical PuG I can stay in character from start to finish and usually get a response from two or three other players at least, sensing that silent nod that they get what I'm doing and play along.
Other servers I used to play on were cool, and people were polite and friendly about not wanting to talk in-character, but Virtue seems to get it more often.

That pretty much sums it up. Overall, Champion is a great server and has been my home for several years. It is very much a community-minded server with weekly events/raids, very helpful and experienced players. The key to experiencing the Champion server to the fullest is to join one of our active global chats. They are the best link to the heart of the community.
