Players experiencing issues related to Graphics cards
This latest patch has really made it virtually impossible for me to play the game . I run on a hp laptop on the low setting . It ran great until this last patch. I updated my drivers with no improvement . On for longer than 15 minutes usually, then graphics crash .

When you installed the new drivers, did you remove the old, running something like Driver Sweeper, before installing the new?

CoH whent from working just fine to turning of my monitor or screwing with my graphic card....and dont tell me i need to update my drivers...i HAVE, Champions and WoW runs like clockwork so the issue is clearly CoH.......can anyone...anyone at all tell me anything that might be of use ?
The game ran just fine...did not change any settings or nothing....Clueless !!
CoX for life !!
Sooo....
Did we figure out the black screen flicker?
I'm using NVIDIA 9600 and when I scroll through a window everything goes all crazy. I suspect it's somehow related to some occasional very bad lag I get while superspeeding (which isn't gpu related as I can run the same course 15 minutes later and not miss a frame).
I've tried min settings, max settings. I've updated drivers as well. CoX was working beautifully before i17, now it's poo.
OK, When I first open up CoH and I click next then agree, I get an error: Your card or driver doesn't support GL_ARB_multitexture followed by Your card or driver doesn't support GL_ARB_texture_compression. I'm running an Nvidia GTS 250 with the 197.45 drivers which nvidia tells me are the latest. Its odd because I've played CoH before with this same card and the same drivers. The error didn't show up until I'd updated by BIOS earlier this week. Any ideas?
This is definitely a problem with the video card drivers. If you've updated your BIOS, you may need to re-install your video card drivers (possibly uninstall/reboot/re-install/reboot).
Awesome. Issue resolved! Thanks a ton there. I was getting aggravated over that.
I have a EVGA NVidia 9600 GT and the monitor screen randomly turns off but pc continues to run, forcing me to do a hard boot. Updated drivers - everything seemed to work at first (managed to complete a mission) but after teaming up with a friend and starting to do a mission the screen went black again - another hard boot. Thought it might be a heating issue but this is not the case - can play Star Trek Online and Age of Conan with no problems at all. Have even moved graphics slider to "minimum" but monitor still goes off (hard boot, part III). I have a support ticket submitted for this but mystified on why CoH is the only game I'm having issues with.
Hey guys, I have a Standard Intel Graphics card, and like some of the others I keep getting
Your card or driver doesn't support GL_ARB_multitexture.
It's been doing this for the last couple of days and I'm really frustrated >.< and i just want to get back into a long time favorite of a game, since what I was playing before just won't cut it anymore . anyway, if anyone has any help for us peoplw who haven't upgraded our Cards. I'd really appreciate it if someone has found a solution
Also here arethe spec for my little laptop that I want to play it on:

Hopefully someone can help me out here.
I have been getting the blue screen of death while playing the game, but never get the blue screen when doing anything else on the 'puter. This leads me to believe that its a graphics issue, so I've updated everything that I can think of (graphics, chipset, OS) and still no change. This problem literally makes COX unplayable. If anyone has any ideas, please shoot them my direction.
Here is what I'm running:
Asus M4N82 Deluxe motherboard
EVGA GeForce 260 SLI
AMD Phenom II X4 955 processor
Windows 7 64bit
Running sli? Have you checked that your power supply is robust enough? Think those need 700w 50 amp? The graphics in the game are pretty demanding on GPU's.
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-260-review/4 http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/
Thought about that too, but its a Corsair 850 SLI certified. That and no other MMO games (STO, COD WAW) are having this problem, so I don't think it's the PS. I did get it to run ok in Vista mode, but still want to fix the W7 issue, and (to me) Vista mode is not a fix.
Thanks for the input. VERY appreciated.
Corsiar's are pretty good too. A quick search found these solutions to a similiar problem that you might wanna consider. Good luck to ya, maybe time to get tech support involved.

The only problem I've been seeing are frequent flashing of the screen, like a black flash that lasts for a fraction of a second. I haven't played around with the video settings much to see what might be causing it. I have a Radeon 4770.
I know the problem isn't just me as someone in chat was mentioning they were having the same problem. |
For the record I'm using a Radeon 4870 with Cat 10.8 drivers.
Hey all. I recently resubscribed to CoX with the new Rogue expansion and was very excited to play in Ultra Mode. I believe my computer is more than capable of running in Ultra Mode with most if not all settings maxed, but for some reason the game becomes choppy when I turn Ultra Mode on (SPECIFICALLY when I pump up Shadows.)
Here are my specs, if that helps:
Power Supply - 1200 Watt -- Thermaltake Toughpower W0156RU Power Supply Quad SLI Ready
Processor - Intel® Core i7 950 Processor (4x 3.06GHz/8MB L3 Cache)
Processor Cooling - XIGMATEK Dark Knight 120mm CPU Cooling Fan System H.D.T. (Heat-pipe direct touch) technology
Motherboard - Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire and SLI Supported w/7.1 Sound, Triple-Channel DDR3, Dual Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Three PCI-E MB
Memory - 12 GB [2 GB X6] DDR3-1866 Triple Memory Module
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 1792MB w/DVI + TV Out Video
Hard Drive - 1 TB HARD DRIVE [Serial-ATA-II, 3Gb, 7200 RPM, 16M Cache]
2nd Hard Drive - 1 TB HARD DRIVE [Serial-ATA-II, 3Gb, 7200 RPM, 16M Cache]
Sound Card - 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard
Network Card - Killer K1
Operating System - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
All of my video card drivers are up-to-date, too, as that was the first thing I guess I considered when I noticed Ultra Mode wasn't working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you !
(Again, the game works fine with other settings pumped up in Ultra Mode, like the water or whatever, and works perfectly fine with Ultra Mode turned off as well. It seems the shadows and ambient occulsion (sp?) make things worse...I think?)
Hi, my girlfriend is having an issue where certain things will freeze her game. Entering the SG base is one of them, which is a bit of a concern, but also going to the tailor freezes the game, and a few random times as well. The most important bit though, is that going to options, and clicking the tab for graphics settings also freezes it.
Becasue of this, we cant even try lowering any of the settings, as we have not even able to find a way to alter the graphics settings without actually logging a character in. She has an NVidia 9800, and we also tried tweaking some settings in the nvidia control panel for the specific application, but that also did not work.
We tried logging into a server with a low load, and stood in a corner away from people, looking at a blank wall, hoping that it would help if there were no effects or anything going on on screen at the time, but it always freezes going to the graphics settings tab.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Edit - I forgot to mention that she has the most recent drivers, and tried some old ones as well. Everything is up to date. Also, she tried it in safe mode, and submitted a request/bug report, or whatever it is ingame, but has not got a response, even though it was a few weeks ago that it was submitted.
Edit 2 - Maybe there is a memory leak? She went to change her costume, it froze, and we noticed it taking up a huge amount of memory when we went to end task it. I still am not sure how to fix it though.
Hey all,
I was wondering if any of you may know what can be causing a sudden "blackout on screen with a little icon of a monitor and computer and a "!" in between them. I have turned off Ultra-mode. I have switched out monitors, and it only happens playing CoH.
My system is:

I am not a computer person. I have a friend who works on mine at times. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if your running XP, but you might wanna check your error logs to help track down the alert/warning. Sounds like an interface problem between the monitor and the computer. Bad connection/cable or?

I have a ATi XFX 5750 on the 10.9 drivers and after awhile playing CoH this happens.
Restarting CoH fixes the problem but it comes back after so long.
Its defo not an overheating problem as the gfx never goes over 60c.
Its a new Win 7 install with a new motherboard and memory has been checked with memtest.
Plenty of PSU power to (650W).
Anyone got any idea's ?

Some textures start to change randomly while I the camera moves.
The loading screen start to change to random textures while the loading bar progress.
(I think they change on refresh).
And, like you, not overheating (but I notice it goes worse on higher settings).
As far as I can tell, it only happens with CoH. I played other games more demanding and for longer periods and nothing happened.
I was just wondering when

Is going to be fixed? In has been in every Nvidia patch notes for over 5 years now.
Not horrible or anything to look at the gimp replacement cursor... just not perfect.
