City of Heroes® Super Booster: Pets includes all new and improved costume options, character emotes, new persistent auras, and a new power option tailored to characters with various pet themes..

  • New Costume Pieces: Animal skin Loin cloths (with an off one shoulder one-piece version for the ladies), Pith helmets and Johdpurs, a 'dressed in furs' full set of outfit parts, as well as high tech armor covered with specimen jar protrusions, a chitnous/oozy set of parts covered with bulbous egglike protrusions, a set of animal tattoos on skin, and a couple of sets of clothes covered with alchemical signs and runes
  • New Emotes: One that pulls an egglike spheroid from nowhere and throws it at the ground, one that spits some goo at the ground, a 'whistle for critter', a 'snap fingers summon', a 'on all fours bay at the moon' and 'crack whip'.
  • New Auras: Trailing misty spirits, trailing odor/pheromones, sigils/runes floating in the air, floating glowing/blinking capsules
  • New Power: Summons a creature (pet, not henchman) that attacks in melee for lethal damage plus lethal DoT: customizable to appear as a tintable bird, canine, feline, ghostly person, dinosaur, flying insect, or bladey robot.
  • New Noncombat Pets: A large cat, a large dog, a bird of prey, a small dragon, a person's ghost, a small devil, a small angel, a blob, a tentacled horror, a monkey, a fan/stalker, more robots.
  • New Buff Pets: A floating bird, sigil, or 'eye robot' that buffs perception (doesn't stack) and accuracy.

How about a Utility Belt booster. Several minor situational powers, plus a Crisis Monitor.

  • Parachute: (Toggle) Reduces falling speed to a non-damaging level while active. Maneuverability is equal to baseline jumping ability plus Hurdle, but accuracy and defense are reduced significantly. Plus the character can drift randomly, so if they start out high enough they can be carried well off course, perhaps even landing in a dangerous area.
  • MedKit: (Click, 30 minute recharge) Equivalent to one Dramatic Improvement.
  • StimKit: (Click, 30 minute recharge) Equivalent to one Take a Breather.
  • Auto Stabilizer: (Click, 30 minute recharge) Equivalent to one Emerge.
If you have an ally targeted, the MedKit, StimKit and Auto Stabilizer will take effect on that target. If you are targeting an enemy or not targeting anyone, they will affect yourself.
  • Crisis Monitor: This device pops open a window that provides real-time status on zone events and giant monster activity. Every active zone event and currently spawned GM is listed here, so that a character who missed the event channel message (for example they logged in after the message was broadcast, or were busy fighting) can be aware of its presence while it is still ongoing. (Except Sally, because nobody thinks she's real.) The Villain version is called the Anarchy Monitor. Vigilantes and Rogues can access both, but they are separate devices. Each monitor lists only the events and GMs active within its associated faction.

Interesting idea Trip, but the problem with it is that the Devs have already stated that apart from AoEs, powers cannot target both a player and another target. It's gotta be either one or the other. I.E. self rezzes can't be "recoded" to work on teammates on the fly. That's why there are two separate powers for those functions. Same with self and single target heals.

Hmm. Okay, just on yourself then. Or not at all - the part I really liked about it was the Crisis Monitor anyway

And as an afterthought, I'd love to see a couple cce's retroactively added to the Cyborg booster. They didn't have the tech for cce's when Cyborg was originally released, but I always felt like they were missing. I'd suggest:
  • Nanobots: A black cloud of nanomachines spews out of a wrist panel and envelops the character. When it dissipates they have changed costumes. Remodulation successful!
  • Power Surge: Arcs of electricity crackle across the character's body, speeding up and multiplying until they explode in a burst of light. When it fades they have changed costumes. Critical failure averted!
Accounts that have already purchased the pack gain access to the new cce's instantly, and new purchases get access to the cce's along with the rest of the features.

Collector's Pack (in-game items no longer available from within the game or from outside the game)

  • Prestige Sprint: Slide
  • Cape of the Four Winds
  • Arachnos Chest and Cape Symbol
  • Anniversary Badges 1-6.

Sidekicked!

Veteran Status from July 28, 2004. This will grant all the Veteran Badges and Powers as if the player had started on July 28, 2004. This would put them one cycle behind those who started from day one (April 28, 2004) so that those Veterans will still have the prestige of being one Veteran Reward ahead of those who bought this pack.

Secondary set Booster pack for each power set.

What I am trying to get is basically having 2 powers to pick from a line for a given level range. As an example I will use Devices. You can pick up Trip mine at level 28. Instead of being able to pick only Trip mine you would have an option from the Booster pack to pickup Sticky Grenade. Basically A bomb you toss at a mob that blows him up and does AOE around him. Maybe does less damage but can be used more often.

Instead of Targeting Drone at level 10. Aid Bot, basically heals you similar to aid self. Instead of Gun Drone, maybe a mech type robot you get from Vet reward. Walks around shooting mobs with lasers. Again a different type of damage.

Or maybe allow for players the option of mixing up some melee and ranged attacks. Instead of Rain of Arrows you can pick up head splitter.

Again just some ideas to make you understand the concept.

Cape: ripped towel, sheet
Weapons: egg beater, power drill, mop/broom, turkey baster... spoons...

This would NOT be a good example of a 10 dollar booster. This would be a MAJOR change from the game's current setup.

City of Heroes® Super Booster X: Modern Age Heroes got grittier, Villains got smarter, and the world got a little less safe. You don't need to put every power in your tray. If you don't like it, leave it out. But for stuff you only use now and then, you should look into /popmenu . It's perfect for things like Self Destruct and Mission Transport.

I would really like a weapons booster pack. lots of diff alts for our powers. We have dual blades so why not add axes to it among others. This is something I would def pay for.

Really, really want this. Go have a look at in-game SWAT for the face mask and such, it looks pretty damn snazzy.

In addition to many stated, here are a few of my own:

Heroes of the Old World: West
Costume sets: Renaissance (Poofy, flowing shirts, floppy hats, though woman's options might end up limited with current game tech), Gothic Knight (Something a bit better detailed and cognitized than the current Medieval), Crusader (Chainmail and a special coat to go over it), Privateer (More Pirate options!), Da Vician (Lots and lots of clockpunk gear)

Weapons: Basket Hilt Rapier (Broadsword and Dual Blades), Claymore (Katana* and Broadsword), Hand-and-a-half sword (Katana, dual blades, Broad Sword.), Wheel lock (Assault Rifle**), Blunderbuss (Assault rifle).

emotes: Sword Salute (summon a longsword and salute with it), Fencing Salute (Summon a Rapier and do a salute), Roman Salute (Okay, just kidding), And probably some kind of Renaissance style dance.

*Because I would like to have a Two handed Western sword, dammit!
**Try not to think too hard about how singleshot guns are firing like that.

And probably quite a few based on this theme of WAY old school heroes, I know I would love a Shinsengumi haori with robes from my katana scrapper. Or just haori in general.

I just have a hard time coming up with ideas specifically for booster packs... as I'd just like to see anything I can think of added to the game in a regular issue or so...

So, my answer is, anything that they can't squeeze in otherwise...

(Not starting an anti-booster rant, just saying, I can't find the motivation to join in... But carry on please! Just... Devs? If you can... Please put it in without a booster!)

Marketing-wise, the boosters need to stay broad (the same way that EA got really good making sure there was something for everyone in each and every danged Sims EP *curse them!*).

For example, consider a "surf and turf" booster (or whatever catchy name you want) that has several amphibious options from frog and fish heads, hands and feet to scuba and diving gear to a "drippy" wet aura that could easily be recolored for slime monsters or ghostly ectoplasm.

Or, dare I suggest a "kawaii kit" booster that includes a range of costume items that includes a range of new cutesy anime inspired costume parts (which I personally don't have much use for) as well as a number of confetti like costume auras including hearts, kisses and other cute symbols and maybe additional animal bits.

Guess I'll need to see what comes with GR, but as of now we still have a lack of strapped-up-gear to allow any player characters look anywhere near as cool as KoA and Malta do on a good day.

As far as what goes in future boosters, more more more of the same variety we've been getting from the Magic pack forward. More movement powers. More stylistic temp powers like the tarot cards. More emotes. Certainly more costume change emotes.

A couple things we've been lacking in all the boosters:

- auras. Could definitely use some more of those.

- power animations. Would be great if boosters included one or two new animations that fit the overall theme that could be swapped in power customization. For example a head goring animation that might go with a more animalistic pack that shows up as an option in three or four commonly shared powersets, etc. I got the sense on the first (and maybe only?) alternate power animations received, the goal was keeping the alternatives broad and generic. A booster pack is one place where old powersets could receive a little more diversification and spice, even if it is only a power or two. Heck, what if all the blast sets got an alternate nova animation that somehow plugged into a "green thumb" plants and more sort of booster... what would THAT look like, just as an example? This would go a long way towards allowing players to really elaborate their concepts and the power sets they sometimes choose as stand ins for sets and combinations that never will be truly available. I know the tarot animation did that for a few of my characters... as did the ninja run.

'nuff rambling for now. back to work with i.

I'd like one that replaced the SS animation. That's Super Swim not speed. With SS you should be able to fun on water with that big splasy wake. I'm tiered of doggy paddleing to my destination.

Some power armour (Yes I spell it with a U, wanna fight about it?) would be nice. My first ever CoH character was a Power armoured AR/Fire superhero.

Stuff like... Animation changes (Energy fires from chest, wrists, single hand?), animated costume pieces (Moving gears) Jetpack or rocket boots... I'd kill for a power armour powerset to be included, but... That aint happening. *Sadface, but accepting face*

Maybe even an Iron Man inspired costume change with robotic arms ala Robotic henchmen coming up to take off the armour.

Personally seeing it as, with GR coming out... The Rikti lording it up with their sweet digs, PPD keeping their Hardsuits in lockdown and Arachnos being rather... Cool looking, but laughably low tech (They're like stormtroopers in black!) there seems to -still- be only 6 or so full sets of power armour to wear, full helmets just don't have enough options to be nice... Half helmets with the Martial arts booster seem to be VERY popular for PA variants... So, maybe some new Half helmet gear to mix and match with?

Ghost booster would be nice for magic types, considering I see enough Ghosts in the D on virtue that have to rely on some stealth power (Which could be replaced by a 'Ghostly aura' instead or something)

A millitary pack for naturals with several alternate weapons (M16, X8 for AR, Chainsword for Broadsword and Katana... Luger for DP? ...Nah.) with some modern looking gear would be cool...
