i17 open beta
And demon summoning. The animations are great. I can't wait to make mine on live.
SO glad we can talk about it now! A lot of hard work and goodies in issue 17. A great way to tide us over until Rouges this summer! Thanks Devs!
I'd like to wish only a week for open, but I know that's not gonna happen Probably the 27th; don't remember what the anniversary date is.
Demon Summoning will be my life for quite some time when it hits. Closed beta made me believe again.
I've already forgotten about most of you

Which is actully my One year aniversery in heros and on Victory! I created my account when last years aniversery party began.
I'm not much of a beta tester... it takes me long enough to get things done on Live. Things sound good, though. The auction improvements sound great... you'll be able to know what salvage you need ASAP with the new features, which was always annoying for me (though does it let you know if more than one recipe needs that same salvage)?
Anyone run the new versions of the Posi TF? I'm curious to know how those are/what they are like.
Guide: Tanking, Wall of Fire Style (Updated for I19!), and the Four Rules of Tanking
Story Arc: Belated Justice, #88003
Synopsis: Explore the fine line between justice and vengeance as you help a hero of Talos Island bring his friend's murderer to justice.
Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory
Not really into the beta stuff anymore, but I can't wait until it goes live. I17 looks to me to be more of a quality of life type update than anything (and that's more than welcome).
Don't mess with Texas!

i heard the average time for each part was about 1 hour, but its much more exciting now (will have doppelgangers in it)
Ah, Demon Summoning. Looks like I'll be avoiding redside like the plague for a bit unless I feel like shooting my speakers.
Player Buff fix. Some buff powers had been recently changed to affect a max of 16 player allies, which had implications in some groups and in large outdoor fights. These are now fixed to affect up to 255 targets. The powers affected are:
- Group Fly
<sigh> Viv says its no longer "all me".

I ran the first of the two new Posi TFs. It was much, MUCH better than the current version and still gave pretty much the same story in five missions instead of what, 13? And the one FedEx mission now has Azuria teleport you straight to the mission (although now the whole team has to visit her instead of just one person).
They did a really good job giving some new flavor to existing maps with details like barrels full of Vahzilok plague, a makeshift surgical ward in a sewer and other small but nifty things like that.
I didn't get to finish the final mission because our Scrapper logged out (not quit) right before the last mission, leaving my very squishy Grav/Kin Controller and the even squishier Elec/Gadgets Blaster my friend was playing to take on 3 dudes worth of mobs, and it was just taking forever to smack down the many bosses that spawned for us. I did very much enjoy what I got to play of the all new end mission, though.
Best of all, as has been mentioned, it only took about an hour, and we were playing at a slower pace so we could take in all the changes and look for bugs.

Cool. Length and flavor were the biggest issues on the Posi TF, so it's nice to hear them fixing that up (though the Vahz are much more fun now with all the body bags they're carrying around, heh).
Nice to see that they're finally making a big improvement to rewards in AE, rather than just a straight nerf. That power selection issue was a pain when it came in, so I'm glad they're rectifying it. I hope that means other good adjustments are on the way (and yay for new maps and monsters in AE).
I'm also keen on the new story arcs... I'll be checking those out right away.

It's true. This game is NOT rocket surgery. - BillZBubba
Don't think it was in the notes, but I know I saw a post stating you can do the OLD Posi through ozone still. I *assume* the merit value will remain, but unknown as I hadn't seen it or done it.

Yes the old Posi tf is available through Ouroboros.
soloable as well. |
Still, a well-built character with a bit of stealth could probably solo it in a little over an hour, so that's not a bad reward at all. It's gonna be scary to see how little time it takes for Stalkers to run the old Posi TF once Going Rogue is released.

Eh, I'm sure some will trim it down easily, but the thing that usually slows down the Posi TF are the patrols and defeat alls. I'm sure a well built Stalker will do okay, but it shouldn't be too different than a heroside character running it solo now.
Hopefully they'll get the merits settled well for the new version, but if it's fast, it might still be worthwhile for what you get. And if it's fun, people will want to play it: it's still possible to get people to run a Katie Hannon TF, and that's all of 9 merits.

Hmmmm, yeah, hopefully they'll have options to turn things on or off with that. Not sure how it is now, but you would have thought they would do this in the first place... you're oftentimes just interested in one particular recipe (or two) that you have in your inventory, but there are some others you are holding on to or are planning on selling.

I like Protean's mechanic but it sucks that it effectively prevents me from completing his arc with my blaster since I've outleveled it and have to do it as a flashback.
It's true. It started today.
