It can be worse then that; the game text file considers that nickname to be tied to it's original forever. So if I made the character "Turd Fergeson" and someone right clicked on it, then I delete the character forever, if someone were to make a Turd Fergeson a year down the line, anyone who had player notes (or right clicked) on my original Turd Fergeson will be told by the game that that NEW Turd Fergeson is still me / my global address. -

The next stage is acceptance.
An 8 year old game is a hard sell, and quite frankly why buy the license when you can just start from scratch? Let it go, life goes on. -
At first I thought, "..but that's not a super hero game" than I realized it makes sense, City of Heroes takes place in the here and now, games with concrete is maybe what we all crave. I'm still enjoying my time in the DCUO, their free to play is the most fair I've experienced in a game of this type yet. When I get tired of the DCUO I'll probably check out the Secret World.

Tabletop gaming (such as Warhammer) does have some draw for me, but the time and expense also keeps me from diving in.

My games of late, well just one, DCUO, a twitchy MMO that an old dude like me will eventually get tired of and stop playing.
Is it just me, or does Borderlands look like Champions Online? -
Actually the only thing that is really telling and significant for us that are still playing is that free to play made absolutely no difference. We should have seen a boost in Q2 2012 revenue.

We still need the operating cost for just City of Heroes and the operating cost for the new project they were working on against the total amount of revenue. To get this thing off the ground again you will need credit from an investor or investors. Hence you need to show the profit margin clearly, if there was a proft.

I have the same issue but in a different game, DC Universe Online. I'm just not a twitch gamer anymore. In fact the devs were nice enough to give some of the enemies and bosses in DCUO some better AI, meaning they now more actively block and interrupt your attacks, thanks devs.

Like Red_Raccoon, I wasn't looking to get into an MMO, and the only reason I played COH was my love of comic books and super heroes.

A Diablo style MMO by the creator of Diablo is a little on the nose. What if people in Beta decide they don't like the whole set-up, too late. Which is how I felt when I joined the CO beta, too late to make the real changes it needed (for one thing those graphics, bleh).
I've been playing DCUO lately, it's an amazing looking game, sound and music? great, missions? dynamic and fun, gear and loot? not so much.
...but I'll pretty much give any new mmo that comes along in this genre a fair chance, even the Marvel one. -
