So what other games do you play? (Non-MMOs)

I meant to start this thread a little bit ago, but since Borderlands 2 will unlock for me at midnight, here goes...

Aside from CoX, what other games do you play?

It would be great if I could get together with some City friends on a co-op game like Borderlands 2.

I have a fairly broad taste in video games, so I'll post my list later, but I'm curious what people will be playing out there when the lights eventually go out.

I really haven't played many video games since the coh news, it's like I've lost the taste for food. Not just favorite food, but all foods. It sounds weird and depressing, but I've been kind of wandering around through life recently, contemplating the mortality of things. The death of this game is like a big metaphor to the finality of life for me. Fewer and fewer things have been holding meaning for me recently. I've played very few video games and I've logged onto CoH exactly one time since the day of the announcement. I've been spending my time doing some extra stuff for work, spending more time with my wife, and dabbling a bit in my slightly secretive hobby of perler-bead sprites.

I've been working on this painting of Frosty for so long that even I think it's so ****** that I can't be bothered to finish it, and at this point, I doubt I ever will.

his arms are too long for his body and I cannot unsee it

Anyways, to answer the question..
Before the announcement, I was playing Minecraft, a little Borderlands, Diablo III for a while after it came out, Prototype, Darkness II, Magicka, Counterstrike: Global Offensive and Skyrim a tad. If my guys are feeling old school and cooperative, we might fire up a a game of Age of Empires: II, if Pwny stops complaining about how much superior its sequel is. Very recently, I modded my Wii and went crazy downloading old SNES ROMs (of games I legally owned in the 90s so IT'S LEGAL I SWEAR) that I've been slowly getting into. Just last night I may or may not have also done a similar thing with PS1 games. I plan on replaying Spyro 1-3, Wild Arms 1/2, and Final Fantasy VII-IX. That should keep me busy for a while.

Let's see, Non-MMO. Well I finally went back and tried to finish Suikoden II til i realized I'd made it impossible to collect all 108 stars soooo... putting it down again til i feel like restarting from scratch.

Otherwise I started up Suikoden III, I'm on a break from FF13-2 (which... I actually like a hell of a lot more than it's predecessor) and I've been poking at Nostalgia on my DS which is proving to be a cute if utterly generic (with a few unique aspects) JRPG.

Waiting on Borderlands 2, though playing it on my PS3 (and single player). I think Torchlight 2 also drops this week so looking forward to that -finally- coming out (really enjoyed the beta).

Actually now that Borderlands 2 is coming out it kind of makes me want to go back to one and finish up some. I started a game with each character, beat everything (minus the secret boss in Expansion.. 3?) with the Sniper, I think I got to the end of the main game with the Siren? And had only just started the Soldier and Berserker.

Not a god damn thing. And that's surprisingly odd, if you were me.

I've already forgotten about most of you

Ryxx, you're worrying me dude. The bead thing is good, look for stuff outside of gaming to help you.

My games of late, well just one, DCUO, a twitchy MMO that an old dude like me will eventually get tired of and stop playing.

Is it just me, or does Borderlands look like Champions Online?

It does have the cel-shaded look, which was all the rage a few years ago, but I think Borderlands (and I assume, the sequel) look much better than CO.

I believe Borderlands pre-dates CO, so CO looks like Borderlands!

I find Crusader Kings II to be a ton of fun, and it has filled my non-MMO computer time lately.

I haven't gotten around to ME3, yet.

Otherwise, I'm a tabletop gamer.

City of Heroes was my first MMO, & my favorite computer game.

Tabletop gaming (such as Warhammer) does have some draw for me, but the time and expense also keeps me from diving in.

Playing Borderlands 2 as well, though on Xbox. I generally pick up and play a new console game or two every month, but nothing will ever replace CoH.

My phone line is still on the blink (thanks to some pikey scum bags vandalising the exchange and stealing the copper > ) so I've been stuck with offline games at the moment.

Had a brief revisit of the original Crysis, had another go with some old games like Dungeon Siege II and Star Wars KOTOR, but currently enjoying a replay of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on Xbox 360. Playing on the side of Registration this time around.

Hopefully my phone line should be back up tomorrow, so I can return to Paragon!

Occasionally Sims 3 and every now and then I might fire up good old Doom 1 or 2 (have doom 3, beat it (but hated the lack of monsters to shoot.)) and it's been collecting dust ever sense. Probably one of the few females that play(ed) Doom. That's about it. I play games but not a major gamer. Something to kill time and do while husband is away or when I'm being a night-owl while he dreams about what he is going to do at work the next day and or fire. Or while he ranting and raving about his job accidentally hooking him up with coach seat instead of buisness class while I interior decorate a virtual house while saying "yea" "uh huh" and "oh really" occassionally.

At one point had two xbox 360s and two ps3 and never played either one. Gave one of each away to some random kids, and one xbox360 went kaputz after crazy brother tried to do some crazy computer stuff to it, something about playing japanese games. And the other PS3 I just misplaced it during our last move. Maybe some kid that always wanted one came across it and took it home to enjoy. Husband did frown upon that, especially the just giving them away part. "If you are going to waste money on those things at least get SOME of the investment back! We are not a charity!"

I dunno. I tend to play fighting games but I'm essentially "behind" since I'm out of practice and haven't played much new stuff.

Been in a pen and paper RPG campaign for the past few weeks.

I have some stuff I've bought that I've never played so I may or may not start some of them up.

Maybe play some homebrew stuff. This includes a game I released but there's the whole no advertising thing so not getting into it here.

*shrug*

We need to team up some time. I played a little on opening night, but the combat doesn't feel as compelling as BL1, and on top of that I still have crap lowbie weapons.

I haven't in quite a while, there was a Tetris clone Firefox Plugin, and I'll play Solitaire for score/speed while running vir-scans & stuff. I've got Far Cry1 & GalCiv 2, and may take a look at "Elemental" and see if they got most of the bugs out yet OR try to find one of the more recent "Civ -?-", or MoO-II type games.

I had been looking forward to "Warface" coming to the US - but that was when I thought it was gonna be a free/basic game to promote the new Cry Engine (3? iirc).
Kinda like counter-strike or whatever - now it seems it may end up as a F2P game. But instead of building up points/ranks on some recent FPS games = you'll have to buy them like temp-buffs If so = Frak that... And, surprise - I think that's because NCsoft &/or Nexon bought into it - from the Kiev-based Crytek Studio. (I know one of them did it's hard to tell who owns who/what over there now.)

And it looks like there could be similar problems with "Defiance" from Trion & Syfy = IDK how that's really gonna work yet?

When Far Cry 3 comes out I'm gonna be all over that- from the trailers & previews - it looks like they realized what sucked in FarCry 2 and went "back to the well" - for some fresh awesome.

Fortunately, I found the Wing Commander Saga - "Darkest Dawn" came out in March = a 10 year project fan-remake, Finally got permission to use the IP from EA - plugging Wing Commander III probably helped.

Several of the original Wing Commander games are available at gog.com, so make sure to show your support for the actual creators of Wing Commander by going and purchasing some copies! You won't regret it. Especially make sure to pick up a copy of Wing Commander III, since the story of Wing Commander Saga: The Darkest Dawn was written to coincide with the events of that game.
And better still, I found that Chris Roberts is now going to make a new Wing Commander-ish game!

I think It's fair to assume the Darkest Dawn went over well enough to convince him it was time, He mentions having wanted to wait until the Tech caught up to his Ideas = its had plenty of time... He decided for whatever reasons to give it another go now - that'll probably take a couple years but since the Jumpgate revamp tanked = Well, there's a "hole" in the space-based fighter sim genre.
