It is better to ask forgiveness than permission.
No no no...you CAN flashback. The problem is that my blaster is elec/elec and generally does better when I blap than when I play full ranged. Protean has a melee AoE the heals him by draining your end. I like it since it forces you to be aware instead of just mashing an attack chain but since the flashback caps at lvl 29 it really shuts her down since I don't have access to Power Sink. You can't invite people mid-flashback/TF and I can't solo him so I'm screwed despite enjoying the encounter. I can get close and I can almost sap him but it's not enough. I noticed an intriguing safe spot among the flames that are trying to kill you that I may need to experiment with.
Hmmm, guess I won't know until I play it. Is this heal autohit? If it is, that is kind of, well, annoying. It's nice to be able to prepare at least and deal with that sort of thing. I know one of the guest author arcs bothered me when it featured Lieutenants with Power Sink. Nothing I could do to dodge it, and they drained your endurance ridiculously. Wasn't so bad if it was one mob, but when they were in almost every mob... ugh.
Sounds like the best solution is to remain at range, then. Elec/Elec isn't as good at range as it is at melee, but it should do fairly well. An AV might be a bit rough, but I've dropped EBs staying at range. I do hope this heal you're describing isn't autohit, though. With my build I was able to solo Nosferatu as an EB (with some inspirations), so I'd hope I could do the same with this guy if I prepared well.

Hmmmm, yeah, hopefully they'll have options to turn things on or off with that. Not sure how it is now, but you would have thought they would do this in the first place... you're oftentimes just interested in one particular recipe (or two) that you have in your inventory, but there are some others you are holding on to or are planning on selling.

In response to Hippeh, he did seem more vulnerable to KB after being sapped (I think it's an actual shield and not an auto power) so it is entirely possible I was "doing it wrong".
No but I think it has moderately decent accuracy. However, a few players mentioned they just stayed in melee the whole time rather than dodging in and out.

Another thing I did not think of: If his power had recharge, siphon speed spared me a good amount.
You know, take back what I said :O

i agree with the timeout thing for channels, will really help cleanup VB/VB09 (moreso VB)
Nice QoL addition to chat. Will be interested in seeing if people get all in a fit since they didn't log in some alt on another server for a while and expect to use a global channel they joined.
If anything, they should really have some more information for new toons on globals so that new players get in these sooner.

There is already a mess of fits going on in the discussion thread for this feature for other reasons

If I understand this correctly /chan_timeout AwesomeChannel 0" would do nothing, correct?

Why are people angsty about the new channel options? Or is it something else? Feel free to linky me if you wish, but I didn't find it in a quick scan.

The angst seemed to be over the minimum days of 7, which is shorter than a vacation, which may lead to griefing/channel takeovers/a variety of other Bad(tm) things.
right... minimum of 7 days. You wouldn't want the channel to kick people in 1 to 6 days, would you? That would be retarded. I think the anger is coming from stupidity, personally.
I hate to be the bringer of bad news... but Willpower sucks!!! you're better off rolling a regen

The scenarios people are coming up with are somewhat comical IMO - like there are Chat special forces just waiting to take over your channel if you let your guard down for an instant.
Well, I feel that there is a lot of drama on the chat channel change. Maybe there are channels where Mods haven't logged in for a while, leaving the door open for opportunistic mods to do whatever (sounds immature, but nothing surprises me anymore, even Voo! ). I am curious what happens to channels where the mods are all kicked for inactivity. Is there an autopromote feature?
Anyhow, the way I read the notes is that you would be kicked if you do not log in after X amount of days if a minimum has been set through the new command. And using 7 as a minimum is tight since that could be as long as a simple trip out of town. You leave one weekend, and come back late the following weekend, you may have not logged on for 9 days. Now you are suddenly kicked from channels that are set <9 days. Add in a spring breaks, summer trips, holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, and this become more than an annoyance if every few months you have to rejoin channels. Will people set to 7 days to channels on the servers? Definitely. Will this happen on Victory? Like I said above, it wouldn't surprise me.
Wait, I thought the command was a one time event. When you do that it establishes a standing rule for the channel to kick anyone who hasn't logged in in X days? If that's the case, then 30 should probably be the minimum.

There is some kind of auto-promote feature, at least back in the day; happened to me way back when with a different channel I OP'd (and the only OP) at the time. I can only assume that it can still happen.
The command does not seem to be a one-time only command. It appears anyone with OPs can change the setting whenever they wanted.
There is an incredible amount of paranoia over every conceivable problem that could happen with this. And I think it's funny.
