I'm about to pre-purchase, but i have two accounts.. so i'm thinking i'll get it for just one account for now, then wait and see if Rogue goes the way of Villains and is eventually included at no extra fee.

In the meantime, i'm excited to re-create my Test Server DP character, so... see y'all later

We do know Electricity Control is on the "to-do" list. It could be they're keeping quiet on anything else so as not to get the backlash should they fail to deliver what are probably reach goals.

If that's the case then the pre-purchase basically gives up a month of free play to be able to have the two power sets early. I guess that's good enough for people excited about them but unfortunately I'm not. I loved the idea of dual pistols but I really don't like the animations. I really hope demon summoning is worth it.

Now a preorder is a different thing. If they have one, it'll probably become available sometime around the release of Issue 17 (as my best guess). Preordering it won't give you a code for early use of Dual Pistols or Demon Summoning.
You, sir, have just depressed the heck outta me. Okay then...time to see if someone will buy my gift cards. >_>

So, as it turns out, you can now pay and we still don't know substantially more about what GR contains. Oh well. Hope it ends up being worthy of your expectations, those of you who spend your money.

(now the same people arguing they would reveal all before letting you pay for it will, I presume, turn around and say how it doesn't matter, everyone does it, etc.)

Bought and applied to 2 of the 4 household accounts. I'll get the other 2 tomorrow.

One comment. The purchase is listed as 'perk', could you please get more descriptive for NCstore purchases to make it easier to track what an account does or does not have.

Hi,

i'm in Europe but play on the US server and the NC store only offers me the Europe version of Going Rogue. Is this intended/normal?
Usually, there is a "US version available" link but this time, there is not.

Why people act like 10 bucks is sooooooooo much money?

Playing a MMO should be out of the question, if ten bucks will break ya.

I think Mister Snakey Snake-Type there pretty well sums up my opinion here. I'm gonna go make those lovely Dual Pistols Blasters I've wanted to have on the live servers for so long now.

What more do you want to know, honestly? Do you want an itemized list of content or something? 'There will be x new maps, y new missions, z new costume pieces,' etc? You make it sound like they haven't released any information at all, and are expecting people to preorder a box labeled '?' for $30.00. We already have a pretty good idea of what's going to be included. I can't blame them for not committing to exact details this far out from release, since a lot can change over a few months. Would you prefer that they promise things that might end up getting cut from the final release because they're not finished by the deadline, or that for whatever reason turn out to just not work? Then people would be screaming bloody murder because the devs 'lied' to them.

I'm sympathetic towards people with reasonable complaints. This isn't a reasonable complaint.

Yes she is.

This isn't really surprising. We know there will be Alpha and Omega costume sets with the Complete Edition, and several "Praetorian-themed" costumes in GR.

Ahem. On a lighter note. From one of those players who spends so much time heroing (it's a word now) around that we rarely pop into the forums (we exist).

THANK YOU FOR THIS. And not just for Dual Pistols.

April will mark my ninth month subscribing. That may not seem like much to many of you, but I have made friends and developed heroes that are uniquely my creations, and they mean more to me than any character in any of the MMORPGs I've played over the past decade. Through City of Heroes I've had a hand in producing personalities and stories and histories and allies and enemies that make for very substantial fiction, and it's well worth the money for the subscription and various item packs I've bought. I also bought the series of comics from my local comic book store and have enjoyed those.

Now. Where's my Natural Defender's damn grappling hook gun, fellas? GET TO WORK ON THAT.

Just to vent a bit my frustration, once more I will have to wait for a friend who live in the US to connect, just because of the stupid regional IP block (I refuse to endanger myself and use a proxy to hide my IP).

That means It will take TWO LONG HOURS for me to put my hands on the pistols...

...sigh...

Time to watch a movie...

While you are correct on the upper body armor, I'm not sure about the gloves. It might just be the angle though.

I just turned in 7 costume sets for “Going Rogue.” It’s really more like 6 ½ though. You can kind of see the base of one and the bits and piece of another, if you search though the new for “Going Rogue,” website. Enjoy!

You can look in the last thread if you like for more detail. My complaint is twofold.

1) I do not believe they should expect people to pay for Going Rogue before they have, yes, revealed what Going Rogue is going to contain, to the best of their current knowledge. I noted at the time that if the list of features included a caveat that some might not be ready on time and would be added the following issue, that I would not have a problem with that and would take it on good faith.

2) I believe the list of features revealed thus far for Going Rogue are not really worth its purchase price, particularly in comparison to CoV. Either there is a lot more coming, in which case the marketing is very bad (which I think it has been regardless), or there is not, in which case I can not blame them for trying to shine up what is there but think the extreme vagueness is nonetheless deceitful and will come back to haunt them if many people buy GR and are disappointed with it (not exactly unprecedented in this sphere).

To answer your question directly and bluntly, yes, I want an itemised list of content. Not every mission, but an actual detailed list of what it includes, and not something as vague as "1-20 content!" which could be comparable to the current 35+ game in variety, or as miserably deficient of content as Mercy Island. 1-20 content that I could run ten times and not do the same path each time would have me laying out my money today - Mercy Island but Shinier will not.

If you think that's unreasonable, you're certainly entitled to. But they don't put up the goodie packs for purchase without an itemised description of what they contain. I bought every one of those. I have no intention of preordering GR and at this point very little interest in purchasing it when it comes out, either. I'm a customer just as much as you are, and that's why I (and others) have aired my dissatisfaction.

This won't run the game. Period. 256MB of RAM will leave you hanging at the load screen for several minutes until you time out. 56K internet connection will go into red netgraph as soon as you get more than a couple of powers, or when you join a team.

This is a little better, but zoning into SG bases and loading the market will still freeze the computer. For proper enjoyment of the game, 2GB is quite necessary these days, unless you don't mind a lot of memory swap going on.

I'm on the other side of this argument. I didn't give a rat's behind for COV when it came out, because I got this game to play a hero. Villains never called out to me. I eventually got COV (collector's edition in fact) just to see if I was wrong about it. Well, I have one surviving villain and I haven't played it in years.

GR on the other hand, has stuff for my heroes to do. Just the promise to be able to go vigilante and beat some skulls in the Rogue Isles means that this expansion is, for me, what COV was for others.

The Complete Collection is $40, and includes a month of subscription ($-15) and an item pack ($-10). So I'll be "really" paying $15 for Going Rogue. For me, it's worth that much.

Given that my laptop only has 1GB of RAM, and I enjoy playing on it just fine when I'm out of town, I disagree with this statement.

The minimum system requirements seem too low though.

Clicked it and got "Distribution failed" and "Try tomorrow" while being charged. No codes or anything. Working it out with support atm.

When my main comp was in dock, I played on one with 512Mb and that was soloable and the market would open up about 1/3 of the time without DCing, so 1Gb will definitely be playable.

I'd bet a fair amount of influence/infamy that Going Rogue will eventually get rolled into the "core" City of Heroes package just like City of Villains did -- but who wants to wait a year or two for that? I'm having enough trouble waiting another two hours before I can head home from work and make my new DP blaster!

Do you have Windows XP or Windows 7? My laptop is Windows 7 and it makes me wait a lot with 1GB.

Which is fine, but the fact you didn't use most of the content CoV contained doesn't actually change the amount of content it had.

Some people might not purchase GR because they hate the concept of parallel dimensions, don't want new characters, or don't agree with its moral presumptions, which are all also fine reasons for them, but wouldn't change the amount of content it has.

I think that the recommended specs listed there should become the new minimum (speaking from experience, the game is still quite playable on a system with 1 GB of RAM, and I don't have issues with SG bases, though it can take a couple of attempts to get into the market), and a new set of 'recommended' specs should be posted.
