Being 45 minutes away I may need to try and make it....depends on the info I suppose...and logistics with work....
Finally you head east and it's Boston???? wtf.
Tech Support Rule #1 - They will lie to you. Usually intentionally.
The schedule's live, and the Saturday night concert is starting at 8:30 pm -- will the Meet & Greet details be changing to accommodate concertgoers? Or, heh, more specifically, will people have to be present to claim any raffle prizes, as I assume the raffles will happen as the party's winding down?

I saw that too... time to make some hard decisions. But since this is the first time EVAR on the East Coast, I may have to ditch the concert for the MnG.

Also, while it is Friday, it's Friday with four weeks to go until the con. We just got the schedule, like, yesterday. I don't think the precise meet & greet details are too urgent yet.

(Wish I'd admitted that when I bought my tickets...) Providence would be as good as impossible for me, too, even if an RI venue would have been kind of appropriate.

Looking forward to catching everyone at the Meet and Greet! Unfortunately, no tickets are left for me to snag for Saturday. Oh well!
I'm going to hazard that King's in the Back Bay as a guess for the meet and greet location.

Far be it from me to make a serious suggestion, but having some way for folks to say "I'll probably be there" might make it easier to gauge the size of the event.

As far as the neighborhood, it's hard to say. The Hynes Convention Center is next to the Pru and a bunch of upscale shops, as well as sitting in the middle of the (somewhat scattered) Berklee campus. A short walk gets you into slightly seedier areas of town, and I've never been in the area past midnight. Boston is a large city. There is crime. Try to walk with others and stay in well-lit public spaces with people around. If you must walk alone, stay mindful of your surroundings and try to avoid isolated areas.
Be careful, be aware, be sensible. All you can do.
Oh, and the BPD frowns on beating up people hanging around on street corners no matter how they're dressed, and weird clockwork robots are probably just MIT hacks (pranks) at worst.

Hmm, probably a good thing it shuts down at ten pm, else I might be running into problems the later it gets.
Or begging for rides...(I hate begging, the last time I needed help getting home from somewhere, it was hubby who did the begging...)

Still working on getting a pass to PaxEast via their forums - just waiting on some replys today.
Looking forward to the meet-n-greet, but probably will be going solo as the wife is not too interested. However, I have no doubt that there will be lots of friendly folks to talk to / play pool with that night!

You'll miss out on the panel and any other stuff going on at the con proper (the panel's about it for CoX content), but you'll still get a chance to buy swag, win prizes and hang with the devs.
Now if they'd just announce the location, I could finalize my schedule.

Bringing along several SG mates with me. We all have our 3 day passes and will be looking forward to this as the highlight of our trip.
