  1. Just used code 35EB-3XJK-SD9U-WTQX-UVCL from the NA post. Don't give up hope! Keep trying! You can have Kirby Dots for a little while, anyway.
  2. I might go to Champions Online. I've heard it's been improved. DCUO is also a possibility, because the pre-New 52 characters are still running around...but probably not. I may pick up The Secret World and/or SWTOR as well, but they won't give me my superhero fix. I'm just not interested in fantasy games anymore and EVE doesn't look compelling to me. I'm looking forward to the WOD MMO when/if it actually comes out.

So unless by some miracle City of Heroes is saved...I guess you'll find me on Champions, if anywhere.
  3. The new Elemental Order costume set looks sweet!

But I want to be able to buy it separately.

I'm sorry, Paragonites, but I don't like randomized blind packaging. If I buy blind-box figures, it's almost always through resellers so I know exactly what I'm getting. When I'm in the market for inspirations or enhancements, I am always, ALWAYS looking for specific items. And when I'm in the market for costume sets...I want the whole package at a flat rate.

This is a cute idea, but please don't do it again. Or, if you do, let us buy the specific items we want separately, as well.
  4. So...the good news is that City of Heroes has at least one Omeganaut. The bad news is that I have to miss the panel due to the Saturday morning round. Will there be video coverage at some point, or some kind of posting of the presentation? I hate missing the chance to see it in person and ask the devs about all the great stuff coming down the line, but, well, when someone asks you to be an Omeganaut, you say yes.
  5. If the next animal pack includes antlers -- with but especially without deer heads -- I will be very happy. I've been wanting to put antlered NPCs in my AE missions for ages now.

Boston has a smoking ban in all bars and restaurants. I believe this also applies to private rooms.

Ooo, good question. I expect I'll still be carrying my messenger bag, which is pretty danged bulky, too.

Because I already know I'm going to have a fun time with great food and that I'll get a chance to buy great CoX merch. But since I probably won't be able to stay the whole time, I'm curious about the one point that's unclear.
  9. Just as a point of curiosity, since both links go to Jillian's catering menu, is this meant to imply that food will be served at the event? Or is food and drink still our own responsibility?

They don't say anything about sneakers in their dress code -- just construction boots, work boots or Timberlands. Have you seen them turn away people in sneakers?

I suppose I'll take a pair of heels just in case, though I'll feel utterly ridiculous wearing them with jeans and a t-shirt.
  11. If we win raffle prizes, will we have to be present to claim them? If so, when will the raffle tickets be drawn?

Asking because I'll likely have to leave for the Saturday night concert in the middle of all the fun, sadly.

If nothing else, the Meet & Greet will not be happening at the convention center and we've been told that PAX admission will not be required to attend.

You'll miss out on the panel and any other stuff going on at the con proper (the panel's about it for CoX content), but you'll still get a chance to buy swag, win prizes and hang with the devs.

Now if they'd just announce the location, I could finalize my schedule.

If you're not staying within walking distance, definitely put aside cab fare if you're planning on staying for anything past 10 or 11. Technically the last trains go just after midnight, but if you have to make ANY transfers, don't count on being able to make the last trains/buses of the evening.

As far as the neighborhood, it's hard to say. The Hynes Convention Center is next to the Pru and a bunch of upscale shops, as well as sitting in the middle of the (somewhat scattered) Berklee campus. A short walk gets you into slightly seedier areas of town, and I've never been in the area past midnight. Boston is a large city. There is crime. Try to walk with others and stay in well-lit public spaces with people around. If you must walk alone, stay mindful of your surroundings and try to avoid isolated areas.

Be careful, be aware, be sensible. All you can do.

Oh, and the BPD frowns on beating up people hanging around on street corners no matter how they're dressed, and weird clockwork robots are probably just MIT hacks (pranks) at worst.

I feel your pain; I use the T (and, very occasionally, cabs) to get around, too...which is why I'm now rather desperately putting feelers out for a room near the convention center, as I've finally admitted to myself that there's too much awesome stuff going on late at night to commute. (Wish I'd admitted that when I bought my tickets...) Providence would be as good as impossible for me, too, even if an RI venue would have been kind of appropriate.

I wasn't so much figuring the night would be changed, mostly wondering if the time might be tweaked -- I could easily make a late afternoon meet, for example -- or, like I said, if I can hang out for part of the time and still be eligible for the raffle.

The nearest D&B is in Providence. There are other places around downtown Boston that fit the bill, but I'm not sure where.

Also, while it is Friday, it's Friday with four weeks to go until the con. We just got the schedule, like, yesterday. I don't think the precise meet & greet details are too urgent yet.

Yeah, and God knows if PAX East will be in Boston again next year, or if they'll even have one, or when NCSoft will come back...I've never been to a Meet and Greet, but I've never seen Jonathan Coulton live in concert, either, and I'd really like to. As it is I'm going to have to hurry to try and be one of the first 4,000 congoers in the door on Saturday so I'm guaranteed a seat.
  18. The schedule's live, and the Saturday night concert is starting at 8:30 pm -- will the Meet & Greet details be changing to accommodate concertgoers? Or, heh, more specifically, will people have to be present to claim any raffle prizes, as I assume the raffles will happen as the party's winding down?

Unfortunaly I dont think the High colar can be done as a shoulder option. When the Magic Booster was about to come out I remember a post by Jay to the effect of "I had said that High Colars were technically impossible, untill I figured out a brilliant workaround to do with the cape mantles"

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't think that was necessarily Jay saying that his solution only worked for cape mantles (because we do have shoulder pieces that cover areas comparable to the high collar mantles) -- I think he was saying that he'd found a workaround that made those mantles possible as cape pieces. I don't think it would prevent a standalone high collar shoulder option. But Jay himself would have to chime in on that.

And perhaps a shoulder mantle+fur option since they also look dead sexy together.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Good idea! It could probably still be two-toned as I imagine most people would want to color coordinate the fur and high collar mantle anyway.
  23. I'll miss you, Ex! I wish you nothing but bigger and better things.
  24. If we can't have the Magic Bolero and High Collar Cape at the same time, what about adding the High Collar mantle as a shoulder option on the Bolero (so it would replace the fur if that option were selected)? That might leave us with a look of similar sexiness, at least.

And, yes, it would be awesome if we could have the Shoulder Fur (and possibly the High Collar) as an individual shoulder option and not just as the one and only Bolero attachment.
  25. That seems unlikely. A few players having double capes shouldn't be an issue, and all cape movement is based on animation files, not physics, so it's essentially a couple instances of the same animation running simultaneously.

But I'm not a dev and I'll cheerfully admit this is all conjecture.
