Thank You, Cryptic; Now I Can Die Happy

The one turn off I've always had with this game was that you couldn't WALK around like you would see with the city's citizens and villains. It was such a defect that I was always forced to use Hover all the time, which isn't really -as- good. So, I would like to thank the folks who finally decided at Cryptic that adding "Walk" would be a great idea.

Really, thank you.

No one at Cryptic decided anything regarding CoH. They sold it to NCSoft some time ago and Paragon Studios are the developers now. In answer to your question Back Alley Brawler was the dev responsible for Walk.

Errr, don't thank Cryptic, they've not had anything to do with the game for some time. Thank the gang at Paragon Studios.

But yes, WALK is awesome.

I think you mean NCsoft/Paragon studios, Cryptic sold it quite some time ago.

Hrm. I guess I've not yet been informed that Cryptic sold City of Heroes to NCSoft/Paragon Studios.

Nevertheless, whoever made it, I thank you.

November 2007, to be more precise.

Not a fan of walk myself, but that's been done to death in several other threads. None of my female heroes or villains are "hootchy mamas".

I'm sorry Addy, but I follow your characters around all the time in game expressly because of their extremely high level of hootchy moma-ness.

I enjoy walking in the right places. For example, during this holiday season walking in the cabin on the sky slops made for a very relaxed RP atmosphere.

Yes - they sold their heart to NCSoft, and their soul to Atari

I think you have a low standard on what is important prior to your own death.
You know, death isn't really a hardy har har subject.

well, that's largely circumstancial. Dying in your sleep isn't funny... running out in to the middle of traffic and getting hit by a milk truck after stealing a cookie from a 3 year old is hilarious.

Personally, I enjoy Walking very much, especially in a game that fosters a rush-rush mentality where the only point in existence is to get from place to place faster. I enjoy walk for the same reason that I enjoy sitting down at a quiet cafe with a view alone and without bringing any work. It's relaxing and scenic.

And I often think people are far too spastic in the face of overt sexappeal as a general factor of society.

Thank you Cryptic for selling this game to NCSoft who happen to have developers that are 20 compitent levels above the ones you currently have employed.

Amen to that.

I love walk too. The only issue I have with it is how much I now enjoy watching my female toons do nothing but walk up and down all day...

I need to break this addiction...

More like, thank you NCSoft for taking all the good people away from the failboat that is Cryptic, giving them a huge budget, and filling their new offices with all sorts of new competent people to help.

Exactly... I WILL thank Cryptic for implementing a Walk in Champions Online which finally "motivated" the Devs of this game into giving us a Walk here after asking for it for over 5 years. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

P.S. Do I even have to mention the CO Acrobatics/CoX Ninja Run "coincidence"?
