Good idea. I'd like to add the minotaur head. Allow the Terminotaur to become whole!

Right, becasue Mako is a furry.

Giving us beastly costume parts does not inevitably lead to EVERYONE using them to be a cute lil furry animal. What it does do, is enable us to make penguins and chickens and dogs and (grrrrr) cats look passable. We, as players, already make all of those, but they would look better if we had beaks and snouts and such.

Take your bias against your personal interpretation of what a "furry" is, and go yiff yourself.

Oh, and /signed.

i'd like to see a real natural pack FOR ONCE and not the ninja one that didn't count. some more stuff this related to real clothes like champions has (i hate that game just using it as an example) also more tights stuff that's not just boring patterns. Release that the same day as mutant since you wont be able to put a power in it probably. Ninja just doesnt cut it or fit everyone.

BWAHAHAA!
Thank you! Yes! ^^^ So many times this!
And yeah, /signed Because atm trying to make anything anthropomorphic that doesnt look like a werewolf out of a cheap B movie is kinda hard.

I'll use an example, my defender, Kitsune Vixen. She's a mutant who's family, somewhere in the past, wound up with actual dna from the mythical animal in its blood. She currently has a human face and body, but fox ears and fur. I *like* to finish it off with the tail but, hey, we're somewhat limited in options.

T'be fair, they never said it was a 'Natural Pack'. It was even called 'Martial Arts Pack'.
I'm sure they will get round to it sometime.

I don't think we can get Jay to budge on this one, but it doesn't hurt to keep requesting it. The only "monstrous" options we ever got were all the way back in I6, and there are a handful of them. And all of them are purposefully designed to be unappealing, hence "monstrous" in the name. I'd personally like to see more monstrous options that look less aggressive and more just animalistic. The more the options we have, the better for the overall game.

Not to mention, the incredible number of characters in comic universes that have animalistic characteristics.

Off the top of my head there's:

Tawky Tawny
Detective Chimp
Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew, for a whole supergroup's worth
Man-Bat
Lockjaw
Feral
Cheetah
Killer Croc
Some interpretations of Killer Moth
The Swarm
Howard the Duck
Thunder Frog
Beta Ray Bill (ok, not really any animal I know of, but it's sort of animalistic)
Sammy Paré, a.k.a. Squidboy

I'm stopping here not because I've run out of examples, but because I need to get some lunch and get to a meeting. However, suffice it to say, there are a lot of them. It seems odd that there are such limited options in the creator, to me. This "furry-phobia" is outright dumb. Sure, there may be some people who use animal pieces to create fetish characters. But, big surprise, there already are. Let the people who want them for legitimate characters have fun, and let the pervs deal with themselves.

My story arcs: #2370- Noah Reborn, #18672- The Clockwork War, #31490- Easy Money

Sartre once said, "Hell is other people." What does that make an MMO?

Indeed, its no worse than the bondage-fetish style pieces we do have, or the android pieces (which is a rather disturbing fetish), or the number of people that make naked costumes

heck, you can even fetishized versions of school girl and cheerleader outfits

Given all of those, especially the LAST one, I don't see the "no furries" complaint...immature people will be immature regardless of what we do or don't give them

Anyway, what the rest of us want animal pieces for are things like the characters listed above and the following:

Mythics:

Egyptian Gods: Bast, Sehkmet, Anubis, Horus, Isis (we do have very intimidating monstrous heads for the evil gods, but some noble animal heads would be nice...Native American spirits can also be done this way)

Mythos Creatures: Medusa, Minotaur, Satyrs, Kitsune, Tanuki, Raven, Naga (many of these I can somewhat do, though Kitsune and Tanuki are missing their tails and Medusa her hair, Naga unfortunately require a new skeleton and library of animations...granted they HAVE the skeleton already, but they'd need replacement animations for all the powers since the snake skeleton doesn't have the bulk of animations attached to it that are necessary)

Werecreatures: Wolves, Cats, Bats, Rats, Sharks, Foxes, Rabbits, Alligators, Snakes (most of these are simply missing one piece: head or tail. Snakes are the most difficult, see the problem with Naga above...also, the above, with the possible exception of bats, are all from actual myths...not comics)

Journey to the West: Lots of the characters have animal characteristics, especially Monkey and Pigsy (though Monkey is relatively easy to do)

My avatar here is my take on Bast, BTW.

<<<<

More animal parts for costumes would be nice - but can we have proportions done a bit better, please? For female characters, *all* of the animal heads are disproportionately small and really only approach looking right if all the sliders are maxed on the head.

On, and, Power - as far as the "beast" MM set goes - you may have been posting here long enough to know that making such a set requires making a whole set of new model skeletons that do not currently exist in game. That's why we do not fight wolves or see cats on the street. And it would be more than one skeleton, since a cat doesn't move the same way as a bear does, nor for that matter are a housecat and a lion and a puma all that similar. In order to be a successful powerset, how would you decide which animal skeletons to make? And how would you deal with requests for other animals?

Yeah, if we're asking for fetish stuff, can we have female costume pieces for males? The kilts aren't short enough and no bikini options.

Since it is a beast booster, lets put dragons, unicorns, griffins, and a phoenix in. Since they are a beast : P

Yeah, that would be very good. I can deal with Monster heads not being affected by facial sliders (even if I don't see why they shouldn't be), but the female versions are just absurd - tiny and stuck at the end of a long cone neck. They just look goofly.

And can we get a few more monster heads that don't have the huge ugly jaw? Or a few with the mouth closed so it doesn't look like a cheap Halloween mask when it never moves?

Indeed, the following heads would be nice:

Raptor (as in predatory birds)
Vulture/Condor
Song Bird
Oriental Dragon
Canine (actual canine head, not the beastial things we have now)
Feline (with optional mane and other details for various sorts of cats)
Goat (or at least something non-carnivorous that can be made horse/goat/cow by adding details)
Other reptiles/amphibians (snake, turtle, lizard, frog)
Fish (Sharks, piranaha, something Sahauginish)

maybe have a seperate category for animal heads as adverse monster heads

as to monstrous heads

Cthulhu-ish
demonic heads akin to what champions has

Minus all the 'furry' comments, it's not like having a range of animal costume-pieces is itself freakish. After all, humans have been anthropomorphising various animals, objects and concepts since the dawn of sentient thought. It appears enough in the comicbook genre in both physical and spiritual aspects of characters that it doesn't even look out of sorts in the game's genre. Toad from the X-men series wasn't an actual frog but had various powers and body-motion to simulate one.

But yes, there is a chance that if Paragon Studios went all out to make a comprehensive list of anthropomorphic costume pieces, that there would be a higher degree of really creepy players coming in doing who knows what in ERPs. But I myself don't really give a damn about that, I'm more interested in making new characters and concepts, whether they very human or not.

Personally I would also like to see more diversity in alien costume pieces too, just more options to set myself apart from the thousands and thousands of human characters already dominating the game. Maybe even more Robots and Android pieces, I already know that Going Rogue will have unlockable Praetorian clockwork pieces which look pretty damn good. But that's all so far.

But the decision to make such a list of anthropomorphic costume pieces a booster pack may annoy some, who understandably would like it to be part of the free issues. But because there really are so many different animals, you'd either have to cut out a lot of unusual species or make such a booster cost much more than normal boosters cost. Boosters are usually $10 and come with 1-3 costume sets, to do what the Beast pack, or indeed the ideal anthropomorphic range of concepts requires, that'll be well over 3 costume sets for just one species. An example would be felines in that you have domestic cats and big cats, they still require a model or two more, plus some new patterns and textures to make them distinct.

As past experience in the forums have told me, you'd need close to an entire playerbase constantly hoping and suggesting in order for any major effort to be produced by the studios (Case in point: Power customisation despite it requiring an overhaul of the code to do) So the same would apply to such a beast pack, to get a decent amount of species and customisable pieces to be produced, even as a super-booster, would require large percentage of the userbase to convince that it will be worth the cost to make it. And that's not even counting the apparent nature of Sexy Jay on this issue.
