May would be around the 6th anniversary - so it would be a good time to have a big publicity splash - a 6-year old game releasing a new expansion gives a good impression of continuing success, I think.

So, what's it to be, specifically?
I'm pretty sure they mean live servers - they've already announced that Dual Pistols started their closed beta yesterday, so saying people could beta test them again next month isn't really such a big thing - but saying people can get them on the live servers a couple of months before GR goes live is a pretty big hook, I think.

I think he's asking for clarification from Avatea (you know, someone with a a red name).
I wouldn't mind clarification either, because the wording is ambiguous - it says 'you have the opportunity to access' not 'you CAN access' and it doesn't specify live server or test server, just that you 'have the opportunity.' Language like that is vague, and I'd like it to be clear.
Will pre-ordering it give me access to dual pistols and demons on the live server in March, or will it give me access to it on the test servers in March. This is a yes/no answer question.
And Golden Girl, while I'm sure you *think* you know for sure, and even if you're right, I'm confident that I and others would prefer to get this clarification from someone with RED in their name and that gets paid by NCSoft, and not rely on the assurances of someone that THINKS they know.

Seriously, it's just not logical to offer a second closed beta - like the incentive to pre-order is to be able to level a DP avatar to 50 on Test and then do it all over again when GR goes live?
It just doesn't make any sense - in-game perks that don't work on the live servers aren't realy perks.

I think there may be a misunderstanding about what was asked.
Yes, they have already told us we're getting dual pistols and Ultra mode before Going Rogue. That's not in question.
The statement from Avatea that was being questioned is this:

The question referred to "have the opportunity to get access...If you pre-purchase"
Does that mean that people who prepurchase will have access to dual pistols ON LIVE before everyone else does when i17 goes live? Or is that an opportunity for those who DIDN'T go to Herocon, DON'T have 60 months, and may have let their account lapse during the loyalty period to get in on beta before it goes live? Cause... if you get into beta... you "have the opportunity to get access"
The statement is not clear, it has too many variable. If there have been other comments made that clarified that statement, I haven't seen them.
...I told myself I was gonna stay away from this, after I got trolled... but, here I am. I hope, if there were misunderstandings.. that clears them up.

On a whim, I asked the clerk, "Hey do you know when Going Rogue for City of Heroes comes out?"...
The guy said, "looks like late April early May, but that is subject to change"...
Sounds optimistic if there are systems such as the mysterious "endgame", side switching and so on as well.
Still news would be nice...the Training Room is indeed down for "internal testing" (which could be anything from a pig roast BBQ with booze fountain for Sexy Jay to pre-testing GR...) so we'll see.
