In the "post GR info here" thread in the HeroCon forum, the first post has links to some videos. It's in one of those videos, I think the second one, but I'm too lazy to look myself.

If they were purists, they could just stick to the Dictionaire Infernale by Colin Plancy.

My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.

It's possible the Dev artists responsible for the GR demons might have looked at a reference like that for inspiration. But my guess is that for a game like this they are going to end up looking more or less however the Devs end up making them look designed specifically for this game. Besides I doubt there's really "one right way" to draw a demon.

If you ask me, they look pretty gnarly. How many of us were expecting them to just use the old CoT models?

to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!

Not me - new power sets are one of the features of GR, so they were always going to try and make something new - it'll help sales

Not me. The devs prefer to make things broad and open to interpretation over making them overly specific. Overly specific things only please a small group. If the set was just Circle stuff, it'd only please people who like Circle, or handwave it and pretend it's not Circle. A broad and general demon set is more open for people to do with as they please.

Also the same reason we'll probably never get Arachnos or Carnies for MMs. Also why Mercs and Bots are new, and not Knives or Council robots.

Sadly, you can count me in the group that figured they'd reuse the CoT demons as pets for the Demon Summoning set. I figured some variation on the Fire Imp for the first pet, the regular Demon for the second pet, and the big honkin' winged Demon Overlord for the third pet, with regular Fire Blast powers to fill the personal attacks and different auras for the pet buffs.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the photos from HeroCon. (See people, it helps to set your expectations low; you'll be happier more often!) I'm most excited to see how the new Fire Whip powers turn out.

I'm still curious if the second piece is meant to be mostly to scale. If it is, the Assault Bot finally has competition for "biggest pet." That demon is huge.

I hadn't noticed that, good catch. Although that is just concept art and very likely to be changed, I think it'd be pretty cool to get a really large pet. I don't mean like Monster Island large - they still have to be able to get around inside caves and block other players' view after all - but big.

It seems like it's been a long time since any details have been set free for us to gander at, I'd love to se a video or at least a few screenies of this powerset.

Lots of wrong ways though...keeps them fed. OH - you meant draw like a picture, not draw like summon...never mind

lets say i was peasently surprised. expedience tends to suggest reused models, so them putting in the work to make them unique was not unappreciated.

I think Des would look better in a short skirt...

While I think their version of "Betty Page as a demon summoner" is fine I agree that a miniskirt might have made her look a tiny bit better. Who knows...

Then again I'm a little biased about my thoughts on her anyway because a "demon summoner turned good" was really the core character concept I developed for my original main character almost 6 years ago. Obviously Demon Summoning didn't exist then so I had to settle for a Fire Controller with Imps, but it's still fun for me to imagine that the Devs literally stole my character background and copied it for Des.

Ms. Liberty and Dominatrix already have minis - hotpants are a new thing for signature characters, so it adds variety.

One of the devs referred to them as "The Hotpants of Evil" as I recall...
