Breakneck Lives!

Yes, he does!

My little dark/psi defender (Agent Blake) went toe-to-toe with Baron Zoria (solo) and his evil minions of the Circle of Thorns, and not only trounced the would-be summoner, and freed Candy LeBeaux and Jimmy Preston...

BUT SHE KEPT CYRUS THOMPSON ALIVE!

WOOOOOHOOOOO!

*****

Oh sure, it craps all over story continuity, but that's what the Menders are for. This is, after all, an Ouroboros arc.

Have any other heroes also pulled this off (actually keeping Cyrus alive through the last mission)? I'm curious... I never in a million years thought I would pull it off, let alone with a dark/psi def, but she did it!

(Incidentally, the arc was set as +1x1.)

Wow, if you'd asked me I would have said that was impossible. Doesn't poor Cyrus buy it during a cut scene? What did you do to interfere?

In the cutscene, he drops. But as soon as it ends, he's still on his feet, and THEN Zoria attacks him. Blake just jumped over everything in her path, dropped the Dark Servant for heals, and went to town on Zoria before he could kill Cyrus.

Wow. Good job. Not only did you do something wonderful and heartfelt, you also destroyed the timestream continum itself! Congratz!

And Mendor Hickman was probably waiting until you walked out of the room to pop off poor Breakneck and restore the continuity.

To all those bringing up continuity: it was screwed up the moment we did the arc instead of the Freedom Phalanx, not only that but it retroactively damaged continuity!

Remember, the model was originally supposed to be kidnapped from Icon and the ritual was supposed to take place outside.

Michelle, you've created a CoH "Elseworlds/What If" universe!

So I guess they put up the statue of Cyrus in front of the King's Row train just to commemorate his part in defeating the villains...or maybe they just needed a place for the pigeons to perch...

Congrats

I've done it with my illusion/rad, but for keeping things alive thats a bit cheating isnt it?

Think silos tf keeping all the npcs alive in the final mission would be the ultimate task

I've never managed to do that...

But I have managed to get Flower Knight killed. Does that count towards a booby prize?

However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator

How to keep Breakneck alive:

Just before the cutscene starts, you need to jump to the left. As soon as it ends, step right and run forwards as fast as you can, keeping your hands on your hips, for aerodynamics. As you get to the room, get in between Breakneck and Zoria and pull your knees in tight, before typing in /powexec "Pelvic_Thrust".

This'll cause a time warp that allows you to save Breakneck, save Stateman's brother, rescue Manticore's parents and drink nanomite free Crey Cola.

And in the spirit of Christmas, I think we need to remember that Breakneck will ALWAYS live in the hearts and minds of children everywhere...

man, that mission was one of the best I've ever played. they did a reat job on making you genuinely feel sad that he had been killed, even though you saw him only ONCE before. great job on saving him! and don't leave him alone with anyone but Vanguard... The Mendors are Watching...

Still waiting for the MON GROUNDS shop next to Cyrus' statue in Kings Row... So saving Cyrus did not help that...

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

We mess up Space Time all the time in Ouroboros.

Look at Mender Silos's TF and SF.

They have opposing goals.

In one, you prevent Lord Recluse from taking over Paragon City. In the other, you help him.

I'm seriously expecting the Coming Storm to blow in and Ouroboros to be revamped by GR...

Congrats on saving Breakneck though!

Oh, yeah... by the way...

For those of you who've watched my "Avatar: CoH Style!" video? That's Agent Blake. The girl just has STYLE.

Congrats Michelle

Yeah never been quite sure about how permanent Ouroboros is... the very fact that the access is a Temp Power is suspcious to me. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see something happen to it.

This is just me speculating, but I've always imagined the menders keeping these little alternate timelines locked away actually inside the crystals, growing and shaping them and trying to see how they'd modify the existing timeline without actually letting them out into the world. The idea is that the flashback crystals are a lot like the AE systems... an extremely complicated lifelike simulation that the menders are using to gather data on possible modifications to the actual timestream. And then, when they've got a model that appears to produce acceptable results, they use their actual time mojo to graft the simulated temporal divergence into the world outside the crystals. So Mender Silos can run as many versions of the Battle of Siren's Call, featuring victories on either side, as he likes. Since none of them are "really" happening,

I got this idea from Sandman: a Season of Mists, actually. In it, Odin is discussing with Dream the fact that he's built a miniature simulated universe in which he's been gaming various versions of Ragnarok, trying to figure out if there's a way for him to prevent it, avoid it, or at least survive it. And then he mentions that in one of the later simulations, which presumably started running closer to the modern day DC continuity, the influence of Costumed Superhumans resulted in some unexpected new directions for events, although still insufficient to prevent the end of the world.
