Dispari I thought Pistols had different Ammo you can switch to? Like Acid rounds or something? Powerboost would surely enhance that.

Nothing is really known about the pistol set yet, and what has been said could easily change from now, till live.

It's been mentioned you can choose what type of ammo you use when you make the DP user.

But there's been talk about a change ammo power as well.

So, it's still wait and see.

I doubt it? Power Boost enhances, and I'm quoting from Mids here:

Stun
Sleep
Confuse
Terror
Immobilize
Held
Run Speed
Fly Speed
Defense (all)
Heal
ToHit
Endurance Drain

From what we know so far, the effects of the pistols will be lethal (no known secondary benefit), fire (+DoT), cryo (-speed/-rech), and toxic (unknown benefit). Power Boost shouldn't affect any of those. Except mayyyybe the -speed in your cryo stuff, but not the recharge.

Power Boost doesn't just boost everything that exists. It has a pretty strict guideline, limited mostly to mezzes and +DEF. I don't even have it on my Energy/Energy because it basically does nothing. Boosts stun in two of my powers, but that's not worth devoting a slot to.

LOL, I wasn't trying to challenge you but *shrug*. I thought we saw a few cryo rounds in the set tis all.

Back on topic, I'm looking into a Pistols/Kinetics Corrupter at the moment. I already have the concept ready and waiting.

Although a Traps/Pistols Defender doesn't sound to bad...

Remember that Back Alley Brawler is looking into removing the time wasted by weapon redraw. Look at the possibilities as though redraw were not an issue.

Yeah. Same thing happened with Power Customization. A shame they can't do that; it'd be cool to colorize our powers.

The devs never claimed power customization can't happen. They said it would be a ton of work. Then they hired people and did a ton of work.

BABs had a solution for getting rid of redraw, but hit a speedbump and has to find a new solution. If he doesn't find a new solution, we don't get redraw removal. It's not a "it'll happen after we put enough work into it" scenario, it's a "this will only happen if we can figure out a code solution to the problem" scenario. It's best not to count your chickens before they hatch.

Even if we do get it, it may not be in time for GR. Or even several months after that. It's not something you should start relying on right away just because a dev mentioned it might one day be possible.

Well, I've got a name for a pistols character (Guns Blazing) but no idea what to play. Leaning towards Pistols/Traps Corruptor. The seemingly wild and reckless hitman who in actuality has his hits planned out perfectly.

Although Pistols/Devices blaster could be interesting.

Sometimes I have to wonder if I'm the only one who isn't bothered by redraw. .__.

From the video, it seems that DP has quite a bit of AoE damage. I want Fulcrum Shift to take advantage of that. My only worry is the survivability. I may have to switch to something with a bit more control...

You're not Alone I play a AR/Kin/Mace...so I think redraw isn't to much of an issue with me as well.

Same here.

I've always hated redraw. Even back when it didn't make a difference. If you can see past that really big irritant, hey, more power to ya, but there's no way I would willingly play a character that incurred that level of redraw.

*shrug* Sometimes you really get into characters and you don't focus on dps numbers. Mind you With My Ar/Kin I have to be very careful with certain foes b/c one hit can stun/hold you....*glares at Ritki*.

Same here. I don't care about DPS except on a couple select toons. What I do care about is that after I use any power besides something in my primary, the next attack I try to do won't go off as soon as I hit the button. It only goes off after a redraw animation. And the more often I have to use non-attacks, the more often I get slowed down by redraw.

That brings up a valid question: Will MM personal attacks and/or the thug minion visuals be upgraded to match DP? They don't have to change effects, just graphics. Otherwise it'll be pretty lackluster after DP is released!

I think it will depend on if there's a matching attack.

Likely, but that would be my thought. But doing so might change other factors of the attacks...like end/rch/animation time.
