How Many Really Use the Valut Room or Vault Reserve?

I mainly use the Vault when I log onto a character I haven't played in a while to join a TF, say Citadel, for example, and I discover that I haven't sold off all the salvage that dropped on the last TF - oops!
So I go dump stuff that I will want to keep in the conveniently located Vault in Talos, to be picked up after I finish the new TF. Yes, I frequently don't immediately go deal with the drops I get on each & every alt - sometimes, I am ready to log off (long day of play), sometimes, I'm just being lazy. But with 60+ alts, I frequently store salvage on the character to be used by my crafters for each SG (I have 5 in all). I'm sure that made someone twitch when they read it |
I'll also use it for temporary storage of salvage I need to craft IO's while I go to the market to get the rest of the salvage I need and sell what I don't. I don't really use it for long-term storage, though. I usually don't bother with even common IO's until a character is in its 30's, when they become equal to SO's in effectiveness. Until then, I sell every piece of salvage and recipe I get except for temp powers, or costume pieces or unique recipes I want. Then by the time I'm at the 30's, I'll have enough inf to buy what I need at the "buy it now" prices because people have been buying from me at the "buy it now" prices. Thanks to how the market works, I don't even have to have a high asking price to sell them at high prices.

I use the vault for storing my rare personal items that I need for upcoming recipes. Most of the time I use the sg storage for all the other items.
I do see ppl entering the reserve not many but a few, but, then again they might be going in for the day job badge.
Interesting how Linage has races to choose from, yet other NCSoft games don't...

I only found out that there was a Vault in Steel a few months ago, which my friends thought was funny. (Been playing for over 2 years now.) Granted I got a bigger laugh when they found out that there was one in Atlas (both of them have been playing for over 4 years.)
I use the vault a lot.
Quick temp storage & also overflow when crafting.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):

I actually run into people in the Talos Island vault very frequently. I'd make a probably really bad estimate of running into someone else about 2/3 of the time. This is someone who actually runs back and stares at the safe deposit box wall (or is already there and later leaves), so I don't think they're there for day job credit.

I use it sometimes, often enough to be disturbed if it was removed
It's a nice feature, wish it could fit more stuff
All of my characters use it as the holding place for rare salvage I do not want to sell. Comes in handy periodically when, instead of placing a bid, I remind myself to check the vault first. Its always fun to find the desire salvage awaiting me 'for free'.
I wish that my storage at the vault would show up in my recipe requirements.
Nothing like picking up some Impervium and then find out I have four in the Vault. Doh.
I have done a complete 180 when it comes to "hoarding" stuff in games and it's all thx to CoX. I used to store all my rare salvage in the vault, to the point of filling it. Eventually I realized that while I was saving salvage "in case I need it", I was really depriving myself of influence I could use to buy stuff I need "right now". Ever since this simple realization I always sell salvage I'm not going to use right away and man what a freeing feeling it is.
I use the Vault in my SG bases, but rarely use the one in game. If I didn't have personal SGs for my own characters I probably would use it more often, though.
I have taken to using the Vault a lot less, lately, as items stored base Storage items are accessible to all in the SG. (And that's for my personal SGs and the characters that I have that are in other SGs) Since the Storage items got more limited storage space, though, buying more of them costs more Prestige. So in many cases I will go ahead and store duplicates or thing I know no one else will need in my Vault.
Again, if I didn't have SG bases for my own use and had more of a need to store stuff, I could see the Vault getting much more use.
I use the Vaults all the time. Although, I seldom use the Vaults out in the City. I mostly use the Vault appearance in my Bases since they're closer to the Invention table that are also in my Bases.
I use the Storage Racks in my (personal) Bases to hold the expensive IO Salvage, which can then by accessed by any of my characters. Of course, the Storage Rack can only hold 30 pieces, so any extras go into the Vault. I also keep a small supply of non-rare, yet occasionally hard to come by, commonly used IO salvage. |
I also keep 1 rack for event salvage.
I keep my vaults for hard-to-get but commonly used common and uncommon salvage.
I'm always using the vault. With my tendancy to play without a supergroup I'm left with limited storage options.
Usually I have a couple of spare recipes in my auction house along with a couple of stacks of salvage and any bids or sales I've got going take up the rest.
Everything else is in the Vault.

I don't use vaults as much as I used to. Exceptions exist- I have one character who's looking to become a serious badgers (two hundred ninety... two... ) and she has a perpetual shortage of market space, personal salvage space, everything space. I also tend to throw a lot of commons up on Wents during 2XP at high prices, and having the salvage for an extra ten or twenty IOs means an extra five or ten million inf.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
My toons use them so much that they welcome me by name when i enter.
It would totally change the game as I know it. My upper level toons could mentor the living crap out of my newbies. Buy up entire sets for them...as long as we're having shared storage, might as well have the ability to store enh, something I've wanted for a while.
Interesting that GW has it but another NCsoft game doesn't.
