The Winter Event 2004 actually occurred in 2005, from January 12 through February 8.
The Winter Event 2005 consists of three separate parts that occurred beginning on December 8, 2005, on December 15, 2005, and December 19, 2005.
This event ran from December 14th, 2006 through January 2nd, 2007,
The 2007 Winter Event ran from December 17th, 2007 through January 6th, 2008.
The 2008 Winter Event ran from December 15th, 2008 through January 4th, 2009.
Hmmm... the 2006 listing probably needs editing for consistancy.

Basically, the last two years began the Monday before Christmas week. Which puts this coming Monday, Dec 14, 2009 as the most likely start date.
But until we get word, we don't know.
Besides, don't they send out an email for the Winter Event?

If the Winter Event needs any last minute patching, then look for a surprise maintenance to be announced for Monday morning. Or, they'll just do a Monday morning maintenance anyway to ensure stability for the expected rush once the event starts.

I've gotten plenty of emails from customer support and NCSoft in general since though.
