Congrats to all the winners including those not only of the Best of the Best but also so the Newbie and Group categories. It was nice to see such variety and style. I for one had a hard time choosing.

Thanks to all the contestants, the crowd control staff, the other judges, Chloe Crimson for coordinating the event, Pum for sponsoring it, those that stepped in last minute to keep things moving smoothly, Niviene and Ocho for assisting/supporting, and all those who came just to show their support for the event over all.

Hopefully we'll have another large event like this on Justice soon. Until then, see you all at the next Hami and/or Rikti Mothership Raid.

Pictures of the winners? I was out of town and could not make the event myself. (and by the rules, also not able to compete)

You didn't have to leave town in order not to compete. The extra effort is noted however.

Was a busy day today, so images will have to wait until tomorrow. I can tell you this however. A commercial air hockey table weighs about 550 lbs. and cannot fit down the basement stairwell of a house built in the early 1950s. Not without a sawzall.

I just wanted to say that I had a great time there on Saturday! And thank you to Pum and all the people helping out to run things.
Everything ran really smoothly and excellently!
Everyone in the final seven were really terrific!

I just thought I'd come by for some fun and decided to enter with a costume I recently made and am pretty happy with.
Hehe, I really didn't consider winning anything...
I do know that I plan to run some events and stuff myself on Justice to pass some of the winnings around and promote some more fun.

Anyways, I'm eager to see pics of all the other contestants and the winners of the other categories.
That's the only bummer of entering the contest... I didn't get to run around and look at everyone else being judged... nor did I see the winners of the other categories.

Thanks again!

*waits patiently for pictures*

Are they up yet??

Here's some more pics from the contest. I regret not being able to jump into PD2 since PD1 was way full. As far as I know, there were about 180ish people in both zones combined, and about 121 heroes and the rest were villains I would guess... >.>

If anyone has any PD2 shots please put them up! I use imageshack.us to get these pics hosted for free. Hopefully they stay up.

This is Chloe loafing off instead of doing her job. Everyone that lined up there was competing in the general contest category.

Watching the judges do their biz in the noob category. We opened it up to anyone with a 6 month badge but not a 9 month one since, I uh really meant that I wanted people who had 6 months inclusive instead of what I put in the rules.

Happy Birthday! You don't look a day over uh...um...59.

There were some really cool ideas that I could pay...tribute...to. Man, I should have put a disclaimer on the rules giving me full rights to copy these toons. I can see that everyone put in their best effort.

Like this guy:

The combover gets me every time.

I was so surprised this guy didn't place. Then again, I wasn't even part of the judging, and seriously, I have NO IDEA how anyone did other than what you guys know. The judges are sworn to secrecy and have already sacrificed a choake to bind their souls to one another.

Sharp look and the glowy eyes. Noice.

Great posing and colour combination.

No gallery is complete without babes. Just turns out this was an interesting frame with the planetoid/moon in the background.

Babe? Hmm...I guess the devs should put in a slider for 'Adam's Apple'

The team competition was srsbzns! I thought these guys were awesome. Even symmetry in the lineup.

The crowd votes on the finalists for crowd favorite.

This was where the cool kids hung out after everyone was gone. Everyone here did a remarkable job and I can't thank them enough for helping me out. Somehow they left me to clean up Pocket D after too.

That's it for now. Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the contest! I invite everyone to post in this thread, good or bad, so any future contest can be even better than this one.

Outside of standing outside AP and Mercy spamming in broadcast, I can't think a way to get the news to new players (on all servers).
I think this is an awesome event. I try to run similar events on my server, Guardian.

One peice of advice on advertising. We have a Global lvl50 only chat channel. Most people are on guardian, but there are people from all servers. They would advertise the event for you i am sure. contact me at @Medic-Lifeline and I can try to set you up with one of the Moderators to get you invited to the channel, or see if we can get some advertising for you.

An interesting aside with regards to merits. Everyone has claimed all their merit rewards except one person, and without exception, every winner has chosen to pick a specific recipe(s) as opposed to rolling.

Nothing wrong with choosing specific recipes, but I was surprised that no one wanted to take the chance of not getting any decent drops, even though the general sentiment is that rolling strategically can be more profitable when looked at from an influence/infamy standpoint.

Just an observation.

In 50 rolls at 30-35, I can almost guarantee one or more LoTG +recharge, Numina +reg/+rec, Miracle +recovery, Obliteration quad, and other notable runner ups.

I was actually hoping that one or more would have done the random rolls and that you would have been kind enough to report the results. Ah well, so much for me living vacariously.

In other news, I got to the party late due to X-mas shopping so I didn't get to compete or even earn a door prize.

I thought for once that NOT being Pum's friend would help me. Rats! Foiled again.

From what I did see, it was well attended, attracted some very cool costumes, and was run smoothly. Congratulation to the winners and to Pum, Chloe, and crew.

I see how this makes sense, but I can also see how this since this loot was "unearned," it might feel like the right time to splurge on that big purchase item. I tend to think of any unexpected windfall as bonus and should be used for pleasure first. Would you rather get that brand new $500 video card for Christmas or 100 $5 lottery tickets?

That said, had I entered and won, I probably would have rolled because I know you could easily get two LotG 7.5s and an Oblit in rolls for the price you'd pay in merits for one LotG.

Never argue with stupid people. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Thanks for the great contest Pum!! Attendance was remarkable and the organization of the event was top notch! The screenshots of the winners are fantastic so I just had to get a better picture of Voodoo Gypsy in the mix!
