PvP is a joke: True
99% of good PvPers left the game over a year ago: True
PvP is dead: False

Freedom server consistently has large KB matches hosted by myself and members of the Unsupressed SG. 8v8s are a fairly common sight. It's no i12, but it's the basis of building a new PvP community.

As the population grows we can start doing touneys and maybe even leagues.

Matches are run with Heal Decay and Travel Suppression turned off. Anyone is welcome to participate, regardless of PvP experience/skill.

Support/Disruption players needed most.

Transfer to freedom, it will be worth it.

I support this. I've been playing a Widow since they became available and stopped participating in PvP since the elusivity nerf. The past week or so I've been getting back into it and had some good times in kickballs and RV.

Members of the community have been generally friendly and willing to help me test. Surprisingly haven't had anyone talk **** to me yet. But, that might be just because i'm playing a widow lol

When you're given crap, might as well make a crap pie!

Soooo close to porting a few toons there. But I'm cheap and hate to spend 10 bucks a pop for them. Likely my Psi/Em, Emp/Sonic and Fire/Pain at this point, maybe my Inv/SS for some disruption. Do many other people run support over there?

Heroside is mostly Tankers and Scrappers with the occasional Blaster or support, and redside seems a bit more balanced - not many Brutes, some Stalkers, and a decent amount of Doms and Corrs.

OCCASSIONAL blaster? Thats like, all there ever was back on my server, ( of course we had the cocky regens too)

Thats really odd.

Now I made a fire/em heroside but I can't decide if I wanna make a mind/elec dom, grav/energy dom, fire/pain corr, or fire/thermal corr villside.

Also: What is this unsupressed sg and is it hero or vill?

Also: Yes, freedom is awesome. I'm cheap like some of you just go to PI and there will usually be some farms or find a farming sg and leech off them :P

While that may be the case in zone, arena is slightly different. There is an overwhelming number of offense - blasters/doms (mainly blasters). Support is existent but we need more dedicated support players. Disruption in the form of controllers is lacking.

Well even at that, there aren't a lot of tollers can disrupt high end builds, pump out dmg, and survive a 6 man spike. My troller is dedicated to doing just that and im already with u guys. So I'd ask for tanks, scrappers, and rads on hero side if your looking to round off the edges (cept for the rad, those 2 are quite easy to play moderately well). And like you said, With the "good" players gone, You're not gonna find those real disruption players anymore when players can just say "hey if i make a dmg toon, I can own on a team, look like the MVP, and still pwn bishes in duels"

Yeah, I was talking more from a zone perspective since that's what many people who transfer come to Freedom to do. I won't disagree on any of your points about the arena, though. Seems like most arena is Blasters and Doms with some Therms, Emps, and Paindoms mixed in, and the occasional Stalker. Few more Stormies or TAs might be nice...

I can add my Rad/Psi to the list as well, haven't really PvP'ed on him in what seems like forever so I'll likely be awful. Is it time for us to get free transfer tokens yet so I don't have to blow 50 or 60 bucks extra just to find some PvP?

Edit * Oh yeah, Arena FTW!

it really is worth it to come to freedom. i think alot of people fret about the $10 mostly on principle, but if you actually enjoy pvp with more than the same 5-10 people most servers can accomodate freedom is the place to be.

ps: bring a support/debuff toon over and people will love you.

I know it's costly, but bring one of each over. I hate it when one side runs RV.

If things don't pan out for me on Champion, then I may be doing a server transfer in the not so distant future.
I've been busting my *** trying to help people get into pvp, with builds, and advice, but If your server isnt a pvp server, then it just isnt.

Would try to bring my Vg mates along with me, if not I'll roll solo. We'll see. Been on Champion since dec 04..maybe I need to go sight seeing.

I'll start being able to play alot more starting next week. (wife went back to TX for the holidays). I'll try using some of my other toons for this instead of just my stalker.

Im one of those i12 guys who left and am currently enjoying my time with unsupressed. They have a good thing going that seems to be a rare oddity in terms of PvP.

Transferring to freedom is totally worth it for any big pvper. I recommend transferring a farming toon if you like having a bunch of pvp toons. I transferred my fire/kin and my main pvper.

KB is fun and I hope it continues. Upressed is good business.

That's exactly why we need more dedicated disruption and support.

The simple fact is: 1 healer + 6 blasters + 1 cold is not an efficient team by any stretch.
We need people to step up and start playing emps, bubblers, TAs, and even kins (yes, that's right, kins).

I am currently in the process of rolling a Grav/FF. I have been encouraging others to roll Grav/FFs, Grav/TAs, Grav/Colds, and Grav/Kins... among other things.

I should really acco my pd and emp, but I am far to lazy and emo for that to ever happen.

It is really nice to see someone trying to get pvp up and running and this seems like a great time with all the people moving to freedom. If we keep getting bodies you may even be able to get a ladder or league going. And about the time its in full swing the next set of pvp 'tweaks' should be coming. Man they have made me a pessimist.

I wish you guys well and if you need anything that I can offer, which I am aware is not much, just ask.

Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.

Whoever was bringing that 5 second stun in the last KB match, I love you and you need to come back and play more.

I support Silit in this push, more action now please.

This is where I'd usually make some bitter comment about PvPing being dead and that you should give up...

Wish you guys the best of luck.

Dexington is a beast.

Once we establish a player base we can start looking at the possibility of set matches in addition to the random KBs. Personally I think a good goal would be to get 6v6s going.

Why 6v6? Not just because of the lower population - but also because of the reduced effectiveness of disruption and resistance buffs. 8v8 could be a bit hectic, that's not to say that we shouldn't plan on doing them, though.

Thoughts?

Sounds much better, I have never liked large fights with i13 PvP... It was one of the reasons I was hesitant about transferring to freedom.. 5v5s and 6v6s are good

Last night, for the first time since i12, we had balanced kickball matches.

People showed up not only on offensive roles, but also in no shortage of disruption and support.

For the first time in a while I saw scores that looked like 14-3 and 17-6, rather than crap like 26-22. These scores say that team coordination is making a come back, and random uncoordinated damage spams may soon be a thing of the past.

We are making real progress here for the first time in a while. Keep it up. I advise anyone who has even the slightest interest in arena PvP to come to Freedom and participate.
