Oro Flashback + XP + Merits = Pure Win
Dr. Q using [walk] as only travel power
I would definitely agree with running a Posi for merits. I did that awhile back and it was just as fun as it was frustrating lol.
I used to run a WS / Emp / Kin trio, but the NegNrg resist of CoT was annoying the heck out of me. That was with my old PC too (verrrry slow load times), but I don't think I ever broke 3 hrs per run (even with all vet powers and Super Speed + stealth).
I plan on trying Posi again with a Fire-Ment / Emp duo. Once I respec my first Fire-MM build, yet again
Via the new exemp rule, the Posi TF will "see" my build at level 20, correct? And if I build Stamina in at level 20, would a level 50 PShifter +End proc work (a la the Stealth proc)?

Yes Posi lets you you the power taken at 20
Performace shifter is a proc, so if you have the power available it will work, barring some odd bug.

Ok...ok. I'll toss one out there.
Well, it's really just an agreement...someone else already mentioned it upthread.
Freaklympics is pretty in the time/reward department (keeping in mind my caveats upthread on dmg type vs. critter resistance)...but the first mission is painfully tedious!
After that, it goes pretty fast.
Also, Return to Vampyri Mountain is a good time/reward arc too.

I used my Kat/Regen for the freak one. The first mish is the longest cause u gotta lead hostages out. Other than that, you can go to the bosses, clear. Only 1 or 2 defeat alls. Like i said previously, 32 merits in 1.5 hours.
How many merits is Posi? How many people to start? I have access to 4 accounts, 3 are mine. I haven't done it but once and it was like 3 years ago.
Seriously though, I won't ever have much to say about that b/c if I find a good arc or three, I don't want a high-volume of speed/optimal runs bringing down the merit rewards. |

Can you say 'Negotiator'? I knew you could.

City of Heroes didn't fail, City of Heroes was killed. If a 747 dropped on your house, you'd say you were killed, not you failed to find a safer dwelling.

This was totally my first thought as well.
I know, right! ![]() Can you say 'Negotiator'? I knew you could. ![]() |
It didn't need a spotlight on it, and if you ask me they should never have gone live with the wards they had.
Before adjustments are locked in a critical look at the arc should be happening. Maybe it does happen now, but it clearly didn't initially.

Posi is 64.
Synapse is 57.
Think I'm gonna start a Posi tonight.
Got my eye on Sister also.
Rad / Emp / Fire-MM trio is worth a try.

In the days before the FEMA mission was a walkout I ran it under 60 mins once.
Since then I tend to hit about 1:30, on a highbie damage dealer when it is set for 2 mainly because the character I tend to you has fly not super speed and travel time adds up.

Thanks to the OP for posting this. I had not hit upon this idea yet, but I started running arcs from the previous tier, always keeping my powers - very efficient. Travel is easier, and you go straight to the merit-providing content. I set myself to even con, team of 4 - this is the only time the late 30's flew by for me.
Same. I'd glad this was started also. ty.
I was under the impression that the difficulty slider doesn't work in task/strike forces, and that flashback is flagged as those. Does the difficulty slider actually work for flashback? I know I should know this.

So... its already time to get rid of the normal contacts altogether?
Consider my mind blown. I was just pondering the late thirties grind on a few characters. Thanks for this, Noght.

I did the Freaklympics are with a 6 man pug last night. About 2 hours, but we could have done it in 1:30 if not for a couple nasty mapserver issues.
it was 34 merits for everyone and a very enjoyable 'Task Force' (And the winner is: HERO! Wait no!). Too bad I DCed about 5 minutes before the merits and didn't get my reward...
This is a brilliant idea.
I ran my last lot of heroes to 50 doing story arcs, and it was incredibly tedious at times trying to line pairs of them up with the same contact and work through the filler missions till they both had the story arc.
One contact (Gordon Stacy, but I dont hold a grudge ) flat out refused to give me the arc once, and I'm positive I didn't have any story arcs open at the time.
Ive got to say Villain side is much nicer. My villains are in their late teens and have around 30-50 merits each just from doing story arcs and levelling up naturally, with very little run around from the contacts. When I hit the higher levels I'll definitely grab an Ouro portal crystal for my base and do some of this.
Concur with the 'Speed' Posi for merits, especially if you have a 2nd account thatsis the logged off person.
I dotn even necessarily try to really speed them, but they go fast set for 2 even with a character in the 20s. I tend to do them over the course of a couple of nights, before the time teaming picks up in my coalition.
In terms of flashbacks, I really just pick one and run it, I haven't found a huge outlier since the rebalancing.
'To save a thousand worlds' probably close to the best merit/time due to the large number of glowie missions, but it has its share of defeat alls on large maps as well, no its not one for a non-damage dealer and speed.
The one I most often is probably Wincott, all in one zone, lowbie friendly and decent retrun for a quick hunt and 2 defeat alls.
