IIRC, Gordon Stacy was bugged in the past. I don't know if it was fixed though, haven't try him for long time.

Seconded. Consequently, don't be surprised if the rewards are scaled down as a result (assuming more people are running arcs at the lower settings).

I've had no problems with him on a couple of characters recently. Not saying he's fixed as I don't know the specifics of the bug, but at least for my Peacebringer and Warshade I had no trouble getting missions from him at the appropriate level.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

He would give 1st mission of the arc and would refuse to give next mission after 1st mission was completed. He would also be moved to inactive contact tab. It was bugged for both as ouro and as regular contact.

Edit: At one point, 2 contacts in Brickstown were bugged the same way: Gordon Stacy and Steven Sheridan. One of them was fixed, while another remained bugged. I don't remember which one though. And it is possible that second contact was fixed as well.

Gordon Stacy worked for three of my characters at least in that group - I had two who duo'ed him concurrently and both got merits, and a second duo where he refused to give the mission to one of the characters, despite working through every single non-arc mission on offer.

Funnily enough, the guy who didn't get the story missions was my dodgy streetwise compulsive-liar shapechanging mutant who had registered as a Kheldian for a laugh. It sort of made some internal sense when Gordon Stacy with his military haircut and bristly little moustache said he wanted nothing more to do with him

This was really jsut old style contact behaviour taken to extremes - getting the story arc for two characters at once was often an exercise in frustration (or at leats patience), barring newer content like Faultline and Croatoa.

That said, Villains has been an absolute dream. Sit down for a session, finish a story arc in a couple of hours or so, and get 10 merits or more for each character.

I can't imagine much that would be more mind-numbing than running at -1/1 as fast as I could; it's far easier to get rich running AE missions (still) than it is speed-running almost anything that gives merits, and I'd rather spend time on my 50s pounding a ton of stuff into the dirt to get purples and boss-dropped Pool Cs than beating up blue minions.

If you're right, though, I'm doing my best to counteract that effect. I've found that Ouro on +1/4 is a ton of fun for leveling when I can't be bothered to find a team.

I have been running a fair number at +1/3 on Cat, and +1/2 on a lower scrapper.

Very lucrative and mixes things up beautifully. I get bored doing the same old same old each time.

Yup, I agree with both of you. My assumption may not be a good one...trying to predict human behavior and all.

I guess there are folks that...
1.) wish to level as fast as possible
2.) wish to gain merits as fast as possible
3.) wish to strike a balance between 1 and 2

Right now, my Main-of-the-Month's goal (45 Fire/MM blaster) is to earn at least 200 merits per week via Ouro.

However, my 41 scrapper and 45 controller are interested in getting to 50 asap (well, 47 actually...for set IOs). My Fire/Dark corruptor (once I get back to playing her) will go with a balanced approach.

Better yet:
ITF: 26
LGTF: 37
5TF: 20

83 merits x 7 days = 581 merits

Off topic. Kitteh, how do you like the Fire/Dark Corruptor? I made a Fire/Cold and a Fire/Dark but have yet to play them due to not knowing anyone to team with redside.
Both look on paper to be awesome toons but i hate, hate, hate solo'ing. I figure if imma solo, i may as well farm and get paid. lol.

That's pretty good. Speeders, I assume?

Essentially, I do two arcs back-to-back that get me about 60 merits in two hours (depending upon where the mish doors are), which I'm happy with, but I'm always looking for better numbers, of course.

My challenge is that other than weekends, I can only put in 1.5 - 2.5 hours per session these days.

Fire/Dark is pretty darn good...even in the 20s: you got your cone fear, To Hit and Damage debuffs, teh H34ls and a bit of stealth.

I highly recommend it!

Edited for clarity

Yeah, mostly. You also can throw in Hess 19 merits. For total 4 TFs in under 2 hours.

this looks like a nice way to level up a few new scrappers.

what do u think would be best arcs for a fire/fire scrapper (or fire/shield)?

See the beauty of this method is that you could "build" your toon any way (stealth or not) or any when (which level drops/favorite mobs) you want.

Let's say you want magic drops and your an Invulnerable Scrapper, run the Arcs with Warriors.

I think fire is good against pretty much anything so burn away.

I recommend stealth/superspeed if you want to complete arcs fast for merit completion, otherwise find arcs you like. I ran everyone from 16-29 and the Croatoa ones are golden.

Noght 50 Scrapper Broadsword/Invulnerability
Fire Umbra 50 Brute Dark Melee/Fire Aura
Impulse Cry 50 Blaster Sonic/Energy
Internist 50 Mastermind Poison/Thugs
Ice Omega 50 Corrupter Ice/Radiation
Prickly Heat 50 Dominator Plant/Fire
Champion Server

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if ninja run counts as one of the travel powers when you select travel powers disabled option on the flashbacks? Also due to ninja run I was thinking of respecing a few builds to push travel powers back further in my build. I wonder would it help a ton on the lower level tfs or arcs.

Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller
Legendary Sannin Ninja/Pain Mastermind
Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind
Ninja Ryukenden Kat/WP Scrapper
Hellish Thoughts Fire/PSI Dominator

Thank You Devs for Merits!!!!

Well, it's listed under Inherent Powers IIRC, and not in a Travel Pool - so I'd think (& hope) it wouldn't be greyed-out in those 'No travel powers' flashbacks.

But... I'm pretty sure one of the "In my day - we walked up-hill, in the snow, both ways folks" will object.
