It's possible I'll be dropping quite a few on this thing. I've done some retweaking in mids and go it up to 101.7 hp per sec regen with no toggles active. But the cost is crazy, several numinas sets, some luck of the gambler, a steadfast protection, lots of fun expensive things. My WP/Fire tank runs at 90 hp/sec regen and capped HPs, with capped F/C/E/N def, 70% S/L resists, and 25% S/L def.

For 99.9% of anything in the game you might want to do, it is unkillable.

Buffed recluse in STF might be able to outdamage the regen/resist, but I havent run it since my last respec, so not sure.

But basically I can go afk while standing in a pile of 5-6 monsters on monster Isle and come back 30 mins later and still be alive on this tank (actually done this).

I do this sort of thing all the time. On another server i have a different regen build thats not as good but I'll find a few nice huge mobs, herd as many as I can together, and set my AoE to auto and go make lunch, when I get back most or all are dead, lol.

I´ve been playing for 4 years, but this'll be my very first post here.

I have a lvl 50 WP/Nrg tank "Crash Induction" who is very tough. He currently has 734% regen (97.6 hp/sec) with one opponent in range of RttC, capped HP, as well as 43.3% S/L def, 40.3% E/NE def and 34.7% F/C def.

My first goal while geting him slotted up with IOs was getting his HP capped and getting as much regen as possible without gimping his build. As expected it did make a huge difference to his survivability. His biggest weakness is probably vulnerability to energy draining attacks which lead to his toggles dropping.

After playing two SR scrappers to lvl 50, both soft-capped, I started to really appreciate defense sets. Not only do you avoid a ton of damage, which is especially valuble for avoiding the alpha strike for WP tanks, but you also avoid secondary effects such as the afore-mentioned energy drain.

Is your aim is to maximize regen because you have a concept build planned, or are you looking for maximum survivability? I'd personally recomend the latter. WP offers a terrific foundation on which to build some truly survivable builds with layers and layers of mitigation.

Which ever you're going for, have fun with your tank.

Here's the build I'm using for Crash Induction at the moment. I was fortunate in that I bought the 5 sets of Kinetic Combats before the price went through the roof. If and when I'm rich enough I'll seriously consider buying the PvP def unique which will bump his S/L def up to above the softcap.

How are ya'll getting numbers like these? I mean sure I get 859% regen, but for HP/sec shows up in mids as well below 100.9hp. . . more like 86.2 or something like that in mids. I have a build that is 855% regen and it shows his Hp/Sec are 86...no where close to 100, so again where are these HP/Sec numbers coming from?

There are two factors that effect how many hp/sec your regain. +Regen increases the frequency you get regen ticks. +MaxHP increases the size of each regen tick (5% of your max). If you want it in terms of a formula:

hp/sec = (MaxHP * Regen) / 240

So, for your build with 859% regen and only 86.2 hp/sec:

86.2 = (MaxHP * 8.56) / 240
20,688 = MaxHP * 8.56
~2416.8 = MaxHP

That's ~+28.9% MaxHP over base, not nearly enough. You could considerably reduce your +regen bonuses and focus more on +MaxHP and get much stronger results. For example, if you had 3,000 MaxHP, you'd regen the same 86.2 hp/sec as you do now with only 689.6% regen.

This is my build, I guess ya'll have higher regen, b/c of the AT's being TANKS, I have a scrapper/Regen with 855% regen = 86 HP/sec...and maxed out HP. Although my Regen is 20 or more points lower than the tanks, Once IH kicks in I am well above most regen builds for HP/Sec gained, somewhere around 188 hp/sec. Oh and thanks for the explaination Serrate.

I think I finally finished tweaking the build in Mids.
Final tally at 50, with all the ridiculous expensive purples included is 962%, 115.2hp per sec, before I turn on RttC. I'm not sure what the RttC totals will be until I get him to that level, im only 29 now. And who knows, it may be a decade or two before i get the inf to actually finish the build in game, lol. How do I post the build? I've only had mids for a short time so I still don't know how to post builds from mids to forum.

Edit: I just found the slider in mids that lets me see totals with multiple enmies, with 10 foes in range 1418% regen, 169 hp per sec.

How long does the overstack last, b/c that could be game changeing...lol.

So then how often does it stack? Am I understanding what you are saying that every 1 sec it can stack, so every other second it is stacking?

You indeed are correct when it came to the double stacking of the RttC. However, I think it's around 166 or 167.xx hp/sec without the double stacking. I would have to check it again tonight.

Out of boredom I designed an "ultimate survivability" tank using WP. Soft-capped, HP capped, and as much regen as I could possibly cram in.

Regenerates 154 hp/second with saturated RttC, discounting double stacking.
Regenerates 96 hp/second with 1 mob in RttC.

If you want, you can break the 277 hp (14.8%) heal from Siphon Life down into regen capability as well. 4.26sec recharge, 1.93sec animation, is 14.8% hps per 6.19 seconds, averaging about another 44hps per second.

Assuming no misses, perfect saturation at all times, and your attack chain involving siphon life on auto, you're looking at 198 hp/sec, or a little under 17 seconds from 0% to full hps. Which is, of course, utterly ridiculous unless you're doing something absurd like solo tanking the 54 AVs in Recluse's Victory.

Being slightly unorthodox and making some sacrifices. For example no Speed Pool and going Leaping for CJ, Bringing in Maneuvers, Fighting Pool and spending a bunch of inf on IO's. Not ED capping most of my offensive (Around 86% or so) I also built in 45% Recharge to try and alleviate some of the loss from leaving hasten off. Overall I really do not notice the loss of offense, oddly enough I have 1 more attack then my old build did.

+26.1% Defense(Smashing)
+26.1% Defense(Lethal)
+9.25% Defense(Fire)
+9.25% Defense(Cold)
+9.88% Defense(Energy)
+9.88% Defense(Negative)

Are from set bonuses.
