I am, apparently, also getting an OpenGL error that causes CoH to crash. It shouldn't be the temperatures, they run high, but not abysmally so. 60C core temps and 80C gpu temps. I'll pull the graphics settings back a bit, and see what I can do about updating the sound drivers, maybe. I have NO idea how to downclock my RAM, and I haven't done a memtest. I guess the memtest is next, although I haven't had problems anywhere else or with any other game - and my wife plays some high end FPS games, so theoretically if something were to stress the card/ram, it would be Crysis.
-
It shouldn't be the power supply, I've got a Thermaltake 800w power supply in this thing, and I'm PRETTY sure it's not the temp, but I've got some more experiments to do with that.
-
I've recently decided to pick the game back up, and I have been having what seems to be two separate issues. I have no idea what triggers either one. I updated the graphics drivers (clean install to the newest ones), I cleaned the system, defragged, checked for viruses with pc tools spyware doctor and avg free, I ran ccleaner to check for registry issues and recovered 1.52 gigs of memory from temp files. BOTH problems still occur.
The first is a random "The video display drivers have stopped working, and been forced to recover" which drops me back to the desktop.
The second is a random hardlock with loud sound (possibly a sound loop, but it's so short it just sounds like nGnGnGnGnGnG).
No clue. I can't get either of them to repeat on a regular basis, either, they just dump.
It has just occured to me that maybe it's a temperature issue. I'll be checking that. Anyway, here's Hijack This's report.

Quote:(rant)Okay... This is a sore point with me. I get the impression that you don't play many blasters, since you're asking about combinations. Let me explain some things.I am not for the melee blasters. Blasters just dont do enough damage in melee in my opinion for them to even go there. Considering how defenseless they are compared to other range classes in other MMOs blasters are like light years behind. Is there a similar AoE monster combo that can do all of this but at range?
First off. Blaster melee damage tends to be higher than any other melee type SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE they don't have defenses.
Secondly, there's PLENTY of pool and IO setups that provide plenty of mitigation. I can't speak for other MMOs, but my Fire/Fire/Flame is NOT defenseless.
Thirdly, Staying at Range does not guarantee your survival, nor does it prevent damage. You only have ONE ranged powerset, the other is a combination of mitigation, utility, and melee. Only using your ranged powers as a blaster makes as much sense as the "Pure Empaths" that were running around, or making a tanker with no attacks or a scrapper with no armors.
Finally, your statement is making the assumption that you will recieve no outside buffs. No Mystic Fortune, No Secondary Mutation, no inspires, no teammates.
I've got two builds, one is balls-out recharge, and about half survivability. That's the teaming build. The second build is geared around softcapping Smash/Lethal/Melee, keeping moderate resistances, approaching the hp cap, and then secondarily boosting recharge.
Here's my first build. About half the defenses I could get, but he does fine for himself on teams.

To the OP: I think we all seem to be in agreement, that while AoE is good, and more options are good, that the Nightfall and Tentacles are probably overkill, since you should have plenty of AoE in your primary and secondary. If it were me, I would leverage PSW, Ball, Breath, and Scream with an in-and-out combat style. Leap in, PSW, leap out, Use a cone, Ball, Cone, leap in, PSW. It's all near-melee range, and should be enough AoE, even with moderate levels of recharge or just hasten, to do the job. -
It all depends on what fits into your attack chain. Miladys_Knight said it first, and I'll elaborate.
The point at which said AoE attack sits on your bar unused is the point at which it's too much. AoE vs. Single target, AoE has potential to do far more for less effort in any situation except vs. the single hard target. DPA and DPE are almost always better (when calculating for multiple targets), and at very high recharge, it's all about DPA and DPE.
With that said, my Fire/Fire blaster has about 170% global recharge and I dropped Combustion and Burn because I never used them. At high recharge, Breath/Ball/FSC did the trick for upwards of +2 minions, and by the time FSC finishes going off, Breath is ready to go again. -
The APPs offer opportunites for gameplay style changes. They tend to offer a hold, which lets you solo lock down problem mobs like the infamous Sapper, and some way to deal with catastrophic failure, along with some debuffs. Munitions mastery is considerably weaker as an APP because it's shield is almost worthless in spite of being an auto, but it makes up for it with MORE DAMAGE, which blasters already have plenty of, usually. Fire Epic is pretty "standard" (hold, Shield, RotP for Catastrophic Failure), but Ice is very Popular (hibernate, Heal, and Snowstorm), and so is Energy (Personal Force Field, and mini-Unstoppable).
Blapping just means hanging out in melee, for the most part. That involves using secondaries since the melee powers at blapper damage scale are more powerful than a ranged equivalent, for the most part.
As far as the rest: If you're not taking the fire swords, then you might consider another secondary. The thing /Fire does best is pump out melee damage, and it offers very little else. Personally, I say embrace the melee, and the catastrophic failure that sometimes results. Then punish people for killing you a la Rise of the Phoenix.
Finally, you REALLY NEED to focus on something when you start to IO a toon out. Do you want to be tough and survivable? softcap your defenses. Do you want to be the top damage on a team? crank your regen. Either way, pick something and stick with it, general overall effectiveness is better served by specialization. -
It comes down to efficiency and playstyle, I guess. I hate people running out of the aura, even if I can kill them before they exit the slow, if I can't do it IN MY INTIAL ATTACK STRING I don't want the power. Its the control aspects that you value that makes the power worthless to me.
You can hit a group of, say, Warriors from a distance and then, if you're running BA over HF, then they all run into melee range and die to Fire Sword Circle. If you're running HF over BA, they slow at the edge of the radius, try to run out of the radius, think the better of closing, and start shooting again. I don't want that.
Also, if you're going to frankenslot Hot Feet, remember to slot Microfilaments. -
I think you're going to be better off picking a different set and/or AT, personally.
You've stated the desire to play a char that's somewhat tough, and chosen a blaster. You hate swap ammo, which is a specific strength of Dual Pistols, the ability to change away from a resisted damage type. You could only possibly consider Munitions and only body armor / Surviellance, for concept reasons, but your char's got a Fire secondary... leave it colored orange and pick up the fire App. (Any other APP is better than Munitions without LRM.), and your IO build is all over the place without focusing on increasing any survival.
As for the build:
Quote:This is wrong. Damage per Endurance, Blazing Aura is pretty darn good. Hotfeet's horrible in that department, I admit, but both of them obscure your character less than Burn, which your took.I don't want my character's appearance obscured by toggles, so I'm trying to avoid those in Fire. They also have a very high cost anyway and would hinder an active play-style.
Fire Sword Circle over combustion, always.
Aid Self is a power that's not useful to a Blapper. Either stuff's killing you so fast you don't have a chance to use it, or they're dead and you're moving on. There's no middle ground, which is why I very much prefer Rise of the Phoenix.
Here's what I would run in DP/Fire, using my Fire/Fire/Flame as a base. After accolades, any blaster comes close to HP cap, so that's not something to build for. Dual Pistols shares the "weapon" blaster set benefit of not having an end crash for the tier nine, so I made sure to pick up hasten and build for some recharge. One small purple, or a use of Hail of Bullets will soft-cap you to both smash/lethal and melee, and you've got 10 points of -kb. For further tweaking, you could drop Executioner's Shot or Piercing Shot, they feel redundant to me.
I would NOT drop swap ammo, since Pistols has lackluster damage at it's base, which is only compensated for by the ability to hit the weakness of an enemy. Fighting Robots? Swap away from smash/lethal. Fighting Demons? Swap away from fire.
For a blapper, it's better to build for Smash/Lethal/Melee than almost any other kind of defense, and defense is the easiest IO set bonus to stack well, so:

Anything can be softcapped to one position and/or damage type. If those are paired on the bonuses (Smash/Lethal/Melee, Fire/Cold/Aoe, Energy/NegEnergy/Ranged), you can probably softcap all three.
...sometimes, however, it's REALLY not worth it on characters that don't have some modicum of defense on their own. This is because sometimes it's necessary to pick specific powers over others that would be more useful for their IO slotting possibilities. -
This.

And to throw in my two cents on the OT:
Blazing Aura is wonderful, it is animationless damage, and in terms of damage per endurance, is actually pretty decent.
Hot Feet, in those terms, blows. It's not the Damage per end that makes me dislike the power though, it's the fact that it causes an avoid-scatter effect. Some people say that running enemies aren't shooting, and while true, running enemies ruin MY shooting. I like tightly packed little mobs where it's Breath/Ball/Circle, Next!
That's the same reason I didn't take Rain of Fire.
Inferno, however, should be a staple for large-group play. See, in small groups, you want your toggles running and to be as survivable as possible, since you don't likely have any support to back you up, you have to be in the "do it all yourself" mentality. In Large Group Play, however, not only will you likely have enough extra defense to kick you over into soft-caps without toggling your stuff on (ten percent is fairly common through fort, FF, Cold, a single purple, a shieldie teammate, a VEAT, etc, etc.) but you'll also never run out of enemies to kill, and kill quickly. Boiling it down, your attack chain moves from Breath/Ball/Circle to Breath/Ball/Circle/Inferno/CatchaBreath/Consume, Continue.
Ideally, for the farming, you're in small group mode, and you're farming enemies that A) don't debuff defense and B) don't have any inherent mez. That almost requires an AE Ticket-style farm, the demon farm, or the family farm, but I'll leave where and what up to you. Farming is one of those things that a blaster can do, and do well, but you really have to be careful WHAT you farm. -
Why is everyone acting like it's an "either or" situation with Typed and Melee defense?
My Fire Tank went with both. All of the sets that give one of those also give half that to the other. I slotted 6x Obliteration in Blazing Aura, Consume, Fire Sword Circle, Rise of the Phoenix, and Combustion. I slotted 4x Kinetic Combat in Scorch, Fire Sword, Boxing, Brawl, and Greater Fire Sword.
That's 28% defense to S/M/L, combined with slotted Combat Jumping, Weave, Steadfast +3%, and Maneuvers (the only leadership toggle I took), I find I don't get hit much.
When I do get hit, I have enough recharge that my Healing Flames is up in about 17 seconds. (Obliteration has the 5% rech in it, and Combat Jumping, Weave, and Maneuvers all take LotG +Rech)
The other consideration for basic survivability on a Fire Tank is actually recharge. You're more scrapper than tanker, Fire Armor's the most offensively oriented set, and getting that heal up quicker does more to boost your survivability than any other power in Fire Armor. (50% heal every 20 seconds equates to a lot of resistance/defense but I'll leave other more math oriented forumites to prove or disprove the point.) Getting Footstomp up faster can only help you, too.
If you can get both S/L and M to 38% cheaply, then I wouldn't sweat it too much past that. I, personally, would not favor one over the other, if it's a choice between EITHER S/L OR M, then I'm going Recharge. -
Couple of things I notice.
1) You've slotted Phalanx Fighting. Unless I miss my guess, the passive bonus is unable to be enhanced. As you stated you were a farmer, I am assuming that you aren't teamed, and there's no point in slotting Phalanx Fighting further than 1 slot. (Luck of the Gambler: Def/+Rech)
2) You've six slotted True Grit (a good thing) with Harmonized Healing (a bad thing). Harmonized healing is a cheap set, I know, and it's good at what it does in powers that are primarily heals. You'll get more mileage out of this particular passive power with 3x Aegis (keeping a 1.56% bonus to AoE defense from the three slot bonus) and 3x Miracle (For the extra hps and recovery)
3) You've also six slotted Deflection (a good thing) with Red Fortune. I'm a fan of Red Fortune, so I can't really say that that's a BAD thing, but the power's also a resist smash/lethal.
4) You've got a -KB proc in tough. Not that big a deal, but if you're going to do just one, slot Blessing of the Zephyr -KB in Super Speed, and save the slot. Better yet, see if you can free up some slots for 3x Aegis or some Reactive Armor in tough as well.
5) You've taken taunt but neglected one of the most awesome sets ever. Mocking Beratement. With four out of five set bonuses being VERY useful to our build, it's almost a crime not to include them!
Now, that's without changing powersets around. I know a lot of people are very attached to what they run, and they run it for a reason. My Elec/SD build is a bit different from yours, but that's because I went a slightly different way with it. You have built on a budget for a defense capped farmer, but I went a step further and my farmer also built for +recharge. Here's what I run.
Code:I went with maneuvers + tactics instead of combat jumping and Jacob's ladder for two reasons. I hate using tiny cones like Jacob's Ladder, if I'm going to use a cone, I want it to be full auto, fire breath, Fearsome gaze or something similarly huge; I also would rather get 6% global defense than 5% to melee and 2% to everything else.| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1410;690;1380;HEX;| |78DA9D93D95213511086CFC0C4109298C410D965272C3249141740CB2A052C2CB0B| |0289752CB548403199D0A5466B0E4CE07F0CA0BBDF2CEF515F40DDCF575146277FF| |27B9F1CEA9E4FF66FA74CFDFD33367E5F17C4CA927179415BDE4957CBF78B1BA1BE| |8F0D552B05B2D792AAC94EA915071457B5A3B0B9E5E0FAAEE7AC943C02CCEEB4D5D| |F1B5B35676B5B751BF4C2D55CABAAA2B81533F89AD6E6F7BCEA21B54B4EFC7CDC55| |639702B5B09B95AD6A50D5DF5CBEE4E4AAE972A8F5CDFBDEF7A6EB09759D871D71D| |D3CD6E71A5E407BABAD7412D8ED37F5FD58F5A483D241454D703418F2B1828035B8| |2A14DC1277A7A6599AA8CC5A1A636202938340DE4052D05C141BD88AA2C780DC16B| |085E53F0CAC12B07AFCFE4D50CAFA66678D9F0B2E1F5851242A699107C5BE0DB0AD| |FD6254256C516804581451A463376F87C13E71D3E07CC0992B3C08CE02B994490AE| |22353A5488AAA3B055518984291247C48ADF10EB812B62F68DAA13EC48B909C9E52| |74A19FBD4A4581C9900C6056D634056D042B74E9B21A45F48E8E873E099C0A2848C| |E92F03078AB4A3C46EE7935ED581E974603AFD984EE144B30C93D23B4DF39D18731| |7C69CA2956EB3D28D951EACA4C37C574CBEF7BDF471EC1DF0167823E87F0DBC12F0| |BBEA33557D4ACC876BB232FC1BF82318DD17640F043F698483A66A10E9591467513| |581AA09544DA1EA17558D98AA113CFD289E7E144F9FC3B751C0B751B82C28D27DC7| |CCCB192BC88DC6F3400E70E035252851FAA4499F3C23A1E3A78153C0347A3A29F84| |E3D39E6C37130CF1F14CA9B50DE8CD86E6C4CFAF10B5DFE27B26A373694B224B268| |3736662D92A47D81D5FF3D3E34F679E45A2B9DAD91A8EB2C37F9F216CB6D963B1CB| |BCB728FA5C852FB18AB379C38CB7DCDB0CCB2CCB164A83FF59433C35192284B8C25| |CE729825C1926449B374B1BC64A9FD05BEE5079E| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
I also didn't take Hasten and Superspeed in favor of Mu Lightning and Ball Lightning, again for two reasons. I get by just fine on near-ubiquitous temp travel powers, ninja run, and the double jump rocket pack; I also would rather have some range and these two powers fill out my attack chain without hasten. They also mule purple sets quite nicely, and since I didn't take taunt, Ball Lightning serves as a Ghetto Taunt on farming maps where there's no-one but me to get the aggro, so an ACTUAL taunt isn't necessary.
I didn't take Taunt, and I DID take One with the Shield. That, I think, is the core of your survivability issue. One with the Shield isn't a one-stop fix-all like Unstoppable or GremlinForm. What it is, though, is a massive +res and +hp boost. It will take the biting edge off incoming fire, and give you an extra 500 hps to deal with it. Pop it before you jump into a big mob, and even though the RNG is a naughty boy, you can still survive it.
If you were to do something similar, but remove the ranged attacks in favor of Hasten and/or taunt or something similar, then those slots could be made to finagle the extra 3% of DEF that I'm currently getting out of Gladiator's Shield (which not many folks can get hold of.) Something like this, maybe.

Hope this helps -
I can, and have, done both at the same time without damaging a build too much. One's WP/Fire, and I've got a theoretical WP/Dark that is actually a couple of threads over in "What's your Regen?"
The thing to remember is that you end up shorting your melee set in order to make it work. On a Fire, that's really not a problem, Combustion and Fire Sword Circle get the job done all day long, and on Dark, there's several situational powers that I didn't take. On a WM, you could probably go with about four of your favorites and make it workable.
The other thing to remember is that it's easy to slot things like Obliteration and Luck of the Gambler to pick up +recharge in the mix, too. The builds work because those four attacks make a contiguous attack chain and any more are unneccessary. -
Out of boredom I designed an "ultimate survivability" tank using WP. Soft-capped, HP capped, and as much regen as I could possibly cram in.
Regenerates 154 hp/second with saturated RttC, discounting double stacking.
Regenerates 96 hp/second with 1 mob in RttC.
If you want, you can break the 277 hp (14.8%) heal from Siphon Life down into regen capability as well. 4.26sec recharge, 1.93sec animation, is 14.8% hps per 6.19 seconds, averaging about another 44hps per second.
Assuming no misses, perfect saturation at all times, and your attack chain involving siphon life on auto, you're looking at 198 hp/sec, or a little under 17 seconds from 0% to full hps. Which is, of course, utterly ridiculous unless you're doing something absurd like solo tanking the 54 AVs in Recluse's Victory.

Quote:...show me a fire tank with a confuse, though. I like the set, personally, and I use it whenever I can, but seriously, that's not going to help the OP.Coercive persuasion 5% ranged 2.5 energy 2.5 neg a very nice set much under appreciated.
With that said, my Fire/Fire/Pyre tank has a "tanking build" which is setted out to softcap defense to Smash/Lethal/Melee. He is TOUGH. He doesn't get hit by much, a lot of range and aoe attacks have smashing or lethal components, so those three defenses soft-cap him to about 75% of the mobs he faces. This build only uses two purple sets. It's not CHEAP, at all, but it's mostly wrapped up in specific pricey IOs that aren't Purple.
It's also got a 6s recharge on Combustion, an 8s recharge on Fire Sword Circle, 12s recharge on Fireball, and 17s recharge on Healing Flames. Damage galore, no Build Up, no Fiery Embrace, and I'm quite satisfied with it's overall performance. He's a crowd pleaser in just about any situation.
If it were me, I wouldn't worry about the purples, I would adjust the slotting to focus on one of the elements that have been mentioned previously. Whenever you're IO slotting, you WANT to build for a SPECIFIC purpose, instead of pushing a "balanced" overall strategy. If you want to build for AoE damage, concentrate on recharge, recovery, and secondarily push some HP (a little goes a long way, and it's easy to slot for in the shields). If you want to build for survivability, concentrate on either Melee/Smash/Lethal Defense, or concentrate on HP, Regen, and Recharge. A little can go a long way here, too, since an HP capped tanker is at 3200 hps, or thereabouts. Base is something like 2400, and that's a LOT of extra health to soak extra damage.
Ideally, you can come up with a build that allows you to do what you want... but you're almost certain to have to change some of your power choices to build a truly great fire tank. If you're happy with what you've got, then that's fine, but realize that your adamant refusal to swap out a power or two here and there is what's causing your problem, not your lack of phat lewt.
Use Mid's. It's a simple tool that does ALL the math for you. Look at Paragon wiki, look for "sets that increase X" and substitute things like "lethal defense" "smashing resistance" "recovery" or "Max HP" for X. Use those sets that look good.
You've already stated you like the powers you have, and will ignore advice that asks you to change them.
That being the case, you should probably figure out what you want to do on your own using the readily availible, free, and simple tools availible, instead of asking for help and then ignoring it.

So, I thought I would throw my two cents in. When farming, as a blaster, you need to be able to kill things very, very quickly. Hot Feet is better damage for an animationless damage source, BUT, A) It's VERY expensive, and B) it's avoid mechanic, quite frankly, annoyed me. I would very much rather have the warriors I'm fighting rushing forward to get into melee with me, and staying in my Blazing Aura for tick after tick of damage, than trying to get away. Here's the build I use to farm. I farm demons and warriors, although I'm still experimenting with settings.
Code:Blazing Aura has a purple Dam/End in it, and I've got macros to convert anything that drops to breakfrees or purples. One midpurple will softcap this build. and I Breath/Ball/FSC and then repeat, because there's so much recharge in this that the cycle is easily repeatable. When the demons end up spreading out, I step back a couple of yards, long enough for them to clump up as they give chase to max range, and then set up another breath. Warriors all charge in eventually as you kill off the ones directly in melee with you, meaning you have less problems with setting them up for AoEs, but they tend to hurt you a little more with the stun-action they can have.| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1395;680;1360;HEX;| |78DAA5934953135114855F271D63484202611EC430254C21519C6061C98C10A5D06| |2A5522D7685AE8A9D541254D4853FC0950B7128F7EAD6A92C7F84D34EFD270EF1DE| |7B5EB04A9776C1F93AF79D3EEFF67DD5D91BB321A5EE9C544678266F95CB1BD3A41| |5BBE4CB5A396753F99552EDBAB4B166B939FB4A6ADE29D9B0C56B2BE7B68BC542A9| |82A5ACE53AC5EDBC55710A6EC392BB65976CB792AADD84560B853C192BAE5D2E07F| |123EFE4B62A61BD40B78E9B836DC5B68AF4A371AEE86C92CDBACAE9BCE34E1B3536| |44FFA754EDAA9A6A9790509EC7C02381F9107820B8F6C74E7F74A969BA37748071C| |CA35446ED3B0A1C11EC9F000E0BAE93D1ABEDDE1129D50D034382501248087C3440| |9F81FD7CB2DF2CDDFB7580FF8D6253F485A0ED25F04AD0F15AB0431A80DD17F82E9| |91D3F045D3F815F820355809BCBA800ED10C4B666B0D990952F6238F815F8064C91| |C5F4AA20F9C3D8C51386B11EC67A18FD648820D088AC4B60F4B4C1139DA75A837E9| |F868C981BD3C0B8A025058C618C1414439027B62BA5A6FBC03DC14D5A6AD627D43C| |89F60C7AA855D75A658A5EAAB423C6DB7E88DEB95BF54D485BFD692023B84D8E4E3| |9DFAAAF13E38B637C718C2F8EF1F5617C7D189F49E9DDBAC96E8CAFBF493018152C| |D2528F3E951EC426109B406C02B1C3881D46EC02F97BF5A87A3FCBF18EBD073E001| |F05994F8216EA6240BFE3000E6570598206712819B4F6946A491D9B5C9295A14560| |01984717738267641FD1B123AD068F6E14A31BC5E84631BAE7E44BE9D8D4597974F| |C0C900556D0C5B2E01619D3FA8CD272465DE6DFDFDACA3F955573EFEB538654E266| |ED83ACFED7F53654DB2BB056477A9E6595659DE502CB45964B2C16CB65964D96EAB| |BBDA723C7B9A1132C932C532C77D9E40F920459422C61967A96084B9425C6D2C2D2| |C1F284A5FA1BD7570EBA| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
I don't like Hot Feet, but it's a personal preference. I find that in practical situations, the enemy positions are more easily controlled through YOUR positioning and knowledge of their default battle tactics (close to max range and shoot, prefer melee) WITHOUT something that makes them run around randomly. (This is the same argument people use against stuns. I don't dislike stuns, but every char I have that has a permastun also has an aoe immob that it uses first.)
Your best and smoothest results are going to be when you can keep your enemies clumped tightly, and you should avoid any powers that don't take advantage of tightly clumped enemies or that cause problems with the groupings.
I also typically leave the stragglers in a mob. They'll follow and I'll kill them with the biggest bunch of the next group, or they won't and I'll save time resetting for more big mobs than chasing every straggler down for elimination. (I have this problem mostly with demons and family and rikti, who all like to play at range) -
I managed to soft-cap my Fire/Fire/Flame blaster to Melee and Smash/Lethal, but it was at the cost of almost all my single target efficacy. Here's my personal build. This toon is my main, and I too am a TF *****. With that said, though, I'm a suicide blapper.
When on a team, I am perfectly capable of standing back, being buffed, and holding my aggro down to manageable levels so that the overall damage is steady and insane.
...I just don't. I don't expect heals or buffs, I Breath / Ball / FSC all at point-blank range, eventually, I die. It happens. I stock purples, keep popping them regularly, and have a grand old time till it's time to Rise (of the Phoenix) to the next occasion. With this build, a few purples soft-caps your defense for 30 seconds, and if you haven't killed the mob off before then, then something's wrong...
Bear in mind, though, that A) I haven't played since I14 and B) My playstyle is insane. I am tolerated by my friends, who have gotten used to me, but I am LOOKING for my next opportunity to hit Rise of the Phoenix. This may or may not be for you. While buffed with some +DEF from teammates, though, this is a murder machine. (And all it takes to softcap is 20% from teammates, which isn't TERRIBLY hard to get.)

Here's my Invuln/Fire build based on the same principles... I wanted to be as hard a target as Invuln could possibly be, while at the same time doing what I love doing most, AoE damage all day, all the time.
This concentrates First on building recharge, and second building the defense numbers. I chose to not take Resist Physical Damage (although I've got a banked respec, I might take it in place of Resist Elements), and uses Fireball instead of Taunt to achieve a similar effect...
