That way, anytime you try to move forward, practiced brawler will try to fire.
That's an awesome tip that I'm going to try out on my Shield/SS tank with Rage and Active Defense. Thanks, Dechs!

Will that also get rid of the error "bonk" sound that plays every time you try to use a power that isn't recharged? If not, even with the message disabled, you could eventually reach the point where that "bonk" is what you believe in-game movement should sound like.

Such a long thread for someone that's too lazy to click 3 powers every 2-4 minutes or so...

God I hope you never play a Kinetics Defender.

You can also do something along the lines of :

/bind w "+forward$$powexecauto Practiced Brawler"
/bind s "+backward$$powexecauto Hasten"

That will change it to auto PB on the forward key, and Hasten on the backward key.

You could get "tricky" and work it so hitting forward also loads a new bind, causing it (W for Forward) to cycle between having forward be auto for Practiced Brawler, then Hasten, and back, etc.

Not to be greedy, but two or even three powers would be nice. No auto-ing here except to make sure things like haste and a few perma click powers are constantly up. As it is, I have to keep an eye on it while doing everything else.

There's a single-player RPG that automates a lot of the boring travel/selling/combat grind. It's been out for a few years now, actually. You can download it from http://progressquest.com/.

Hell I'd be happy if hasten did autofire instead of getting "stuck" and waiting for me to click it.

This will happen if you have an NPC or object targetted that isn't defeatable - market employees, trainers, contacts, etc.

I know!!! I want two, having energize and hasten on auto for my elec armor brute would be freakin prime.

Just in case you don't know, that's a Dev-confirmed bug. It happens when you target an un-attackable object or NPC, such as a Wentworth employee. Hitting Escape clears the target window and your auto-power will start working again.

Actually, I consider this a feature. Everyone with Healing Aura on auto and who rock the aura at the Market now have it automatically paused.

My main is a Fire/Kin so there have been times where I wished I was able to have more then one skill on auto. It be a burden of sorts!

ai. Would have worked wonders on one particular server where everybody and their pets stood with aura's full on at the WW in Talos.

Nope, not missing it, that's the rule. Prevents botting.

My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.

Agreed - or just about any flavor of Defender at all. Or anything that has to "actively" manage anything besides attacks, because apparently it's not that big a deal to have to constantly click attacks, but clicking any mitigation is a really huge deal.

Seriously.

I see nothing wrong with not perferring "high click" ATs.

There are no non-"high click" ATs. There are "high click" and non-"high click" power-sets though. Some power-sets require the player to pay more attention to whats happening with the character than others. You just happened to choose one of them.

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"

I have "played" Progress Quest, and I assure you, it automates a lot of the tasks we waste time and brainpower over in other, less user-friendly MMOs.

Someone else said, before me, "Welcome to City of Heroes, where we expect you to play the game!"

The general trade-off is that the more power something has, the more attention it requires. The defense boost from the Maneuvers toggle is smaller than the defense boost from the click-apply from Force Field. Any passive defense booster would either be self-only, or correspondingly smaller.

Better go petition for your big red "I WIN!" button, too.

This nonsense is right up there with "OMG! I have to actually take the train to another zone for this next mission??"
