Aw... Fossilize Animation Changed.

I was dusting off my Stone / Sonic troller and found that the animation has changed. It used to be that the mob would freeze in place with its arms in the air and the blank stare facing the sky. Now when I use Fossilize, they stand there and bob around like they're stunned.

That makes me sad.

Was there a patch today?

I swore last night my Earth/Psi dom was still seeing the looking-at-sky-trapped-in-rock animation.

Yup. They took the servers down this morning 4am pdt and when they came back up, viola, stun emote now playing. It was just fine a few days ago from what I remember. Today is a totally different story.

All holds seem to be doing this..Tried with my Fire Dom Char hits with the initial cloud then disappears..No more choking animation..My Earth Controller target do the stun animation and bobble around in the stone trap..I think its a bug as no rednames have mentioned it but it was around before today's update as I started noticing the lack of char choking Sunday?

Yup - I just used Gravity Distortion on my Grav troller and bam! Stun emote.

It is. Apparently it's affecting all Holds, or perhaps all Holds which use the "arms in air" animation. I caught it last week and informed Castle (who informed BAB).

hmm, I haven't had that problem, mine is still the red crystal I set it to. Is he set to color tinted or lava?

He was using a lava theme. Other powers he had were still using the lava theme correctly (Stalagmites and the single target immob).

I think it's the "frozen in stone with your arms in the air" emote that's busted. I have Lockdown +2 hold in Fossilize, and the proc is an electric hold, for whatever reason. Anyway, if the proc doesn't fire, the mob stands there doing the "stunned" animation (which looks really weird when they're encased in stone). When the proc lands, the mob shakes from the electricity in the +hold proc.

I think many/most of the "Hold" animations are broken. I was playing one of my Plant controllers, and noticed the same thing - Held = stunned animation.

I don't know. It couldn't have anything to do with releasing a patch that makes code changes to the vast majority of powers in the game. (16 Issues worth of big changes, five years worth of incremental patches and hotfixes. If the game engine had a physical form, it would probably look like a cross between a Delorean and a subway train, held together with duct tape, string, and gummi bears.)

I PM'ed someone going to Hero Con to ask the Devs if this bug is going to be fixed. I don't like my held foes looking like they are stunned. I haven't heard back, though.

Possibly a branch subversion from the main trunk of cox.

If it's anything like web development then it's a branch from the main codebase that is worked on and then put back into the main codebase after.

I could be wrong, it does happen a lot.
