An observation on teams
I said it earlier, everyone was "oooohhh...great" but now the gimps STILL need people to carry them, but now the hardcore players don't need them. It won't be long now before the gimps,RPers, and costume horses are gonna start complaining and try to get the Devs to force those dirty powergamers to invite them back to teams, and I'm gonna sit back and laugh.

Team Potential: Much more fun
Condition: Team will not contain people like you
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Or the devs will realize that those same powergamers are the ones complaining that the game is too easy. And that the reason for this is they are purpled out optimized toons. Answer: nerf purple sets and scrappers in general. if you can run +4 team of 8 missions solo you are OP. When they see the same builds are soloing content made for teams of 8, they can easily look at where that power level comes from.

Nerf: Un-necessary
Purples: Engaging -shrug-

I play on infinity.... I pick-up team 100% of the time i'm teaming, although I solo quite a bit, too.
I'd suggest you join these global channels:
AE Anonymous, Infinity Badges, Infinity Hamidon.
There's a few others out there, but those 3 get the most use.
AE Anonymous is a fairly new channel that has a lot of constant chatter and team forming. (and there's a sticky about it on the infinity forum) I think that's probably your best bet right now for joining a pick-up team on Infinity. Although you might not get the exact content you want if you're not forming the team yourself. The active members are a pretty diverse spectrum of newer players and vets.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
If anything, maybe now the people who wanted to read every little mission-text and NPC dialog will have the time to do so and actually enjoy a slower pace without "powergamers" rushing them all the time.
This can go both ways you see...

I actually did it for one post, and found it was fun to type, and that people found it amusing. Sure, some people -rep me for it (anonymously, as normal) but I find that more people get a smirk out of it then go 'OMG lrn 3 speek!!1'

I didn't think you used to talk like that, but it's generally amusing and never annoying.

total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
As I have been working through my alts, switching Day Jobs and updating power looks, I have been getting a steady stream of team invites. On all the servers. I logged onto a controller on Pinnacle the other day and got 2 invites in less then 6 minutes. The first one before I finished logging in.
I haven't received 100s, or even 10s of invites a night, but I have been getting them and that is without looking at all.

Jerry - dunno what to tell you. Since I16 came out, with supersidekick, I have been invited to PUGs pretty much as soon as I put up an lft on my team tab, or broadcast it. The changes to reputation/difficulty DO seem to be working in that I no longer get asked to fill, not once since release. But filling was not a social occasion.
I am working a new character on Liberty, which is middlin' busy most of the time. Got him to 20 last night. I solo him a good deal, because I like soloing, and it lets me get the hang of a new combination (radiation/energy blaster). The pick ups have been profitable and pleasant, whether the team is a steam roller or gets wiped three times per mission.
So my take is that the changes have largely been positive (no AE spammage, no fill invites, more teaming without fidding with SKs and level ranges, just invite and go).
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
The problem with being a thinking animal though, is that our logic "circuits" as it were, evolved on top of our more primitive Fight-or-Flight "circuitry". OK, I'm oversimplifying things here, but I bet most people who -rep people for Rikti-speak in a CoH forum (Heaven's forbid there'd be some Forum RP because we all know Forum PvP is so much more fun) are the same people who need a TL;DR section for a one sentence post.

NJ Miss.
I play on Triumph nightly. I never have a problem finding a team to run, I even ran into a problem this weekend with multiple TF requests hitting at the same time.
The new ssk, tf +5, and exemped xp till 50 features are balanced with the scaling features. It gives players new options on both ends.
If people can neg me for, and I quote, "not being helpful", then they'll neg for any reason. I didn't know that every post on these boards were supposed to be "helpful".

Posting exclusively in
The form of haiku.
Years ago, and I can't even remember why now - I think it started in an argument I was having with somebody (Perfect_Pain maybe?) over posts being too verbose. It was surprisingly diverting, and reactions to it split roughly along the lines you mention, with some people liking it and others PMing me saying "Whats wrong with u? U should quit game." (Which was as close as you could get to -rep in those days.)
