You might be weird, don't know you well enough to say otherwise.
But your not the only one.
I was about to make a thread about this very subject. Thankfully I used search 1st!
Yeah, I just thought with all the hub-bub about Issue 16 and GR that we might not get the event this year.

Nope it's not just you. I love the holiday events as well. And now that level restrictions have been removed from certain zones, trick-or-treating might be a lot more entertaining this year.

I heard that there will be some improvements this holiday season. No specifics, so we'll just have to wait and see

So, fun event, pretty badges and needed salvage mean that I am also anticipating Halloween.
Now the Winter event leaves me cold, pun intended. I detest Snaptooth, and here we have yet ANOTHER mission in another cave; color me unimpressed. I don't use the unlocked costume-parts on anyone, so for me its a "meh." Same for the Valentine's event.
But Halloween.... I'm so there. Can't wait till it starts.... this event should run for 3-4 weeks IMO. ALL of October. Thirty days of night...! Bring it... er, make that 31 days of night.

In the Arena of Logic, I fight unarmed.
Thankfully we don't run any Halloween missions, so Snappy is unlikely to be haunting us.
I'd really love a special mission or two in the Halloween event, if they didn't have Snappy in them. Most overused NPC ever!
It'd be cool to have special Halloween stuff in Dark Astoria where we hunted zombies through a haunted office building or something. I'd pay a dollar to see that! But Snappy... er.... no thanks
Yeah, Halloween is the best. I wish there was a zone where it never ended. Croatoa maybe. Or, maybe it'd be cool if Halloween in Croatoa DID last all month, or all year but only at night. Man I love it so much. The new zombie invasion aspect was sweet. I loved getting like 3 or 4 earth controllers to just stand by a couple of doors and hang out and chat, killing everything as it emerged from ground and door alike, with always a VG waiting to choke the arrivals.
Good times.
When is the next event of any kind coming? 2x EXP? Halloween? What? What's next?

The Ski Chalet has such a wonderful vibe to it, it was really designed well. I always look forward to December's CoH gaming just for it.
I'm glad it is only around once a year though so that it remains something special to look forward to in game.

I think it would be cute if, during the winter ski event, a sniper (like the ones from PI or Founders Falls) would get up high and start tagging people. Not all the time but maybe once every 5-10 minutes.

New Christmas Events:
- Snaptooth-skeet-shooting off the top of the Ski Chalet.
- Timed Mission #1: Iinject Baby New Year with a super serum that gives him a HUGE body, then lead him to a cage match with Snaptooth. Cutscene ensues.
- The 2009 Paragon City Winter Olympics... speed skating, ice dancing, and curling on the Winter Croatoa map.
- Timed Mission #2: Deliver 200 presents within 30 minutes. Finally, a use for all those drive-by Speed Boostings.
- New Outdoor Base Construction: SNOW FORT.
- Timed Mission #3: Vernon von Grun, in an attempt to match Dr. Aeon's brilliance, has decided to bring snow to the Rogue Isles. Only it doesn't quite work as expected, because he figured that the demon under the PTS was keeping the temperature too warm...

Its so much fun trying non stop to get that extra 1/10th of a second off your time to get the badge! Plus its a great community gathering event! I love the holiday events. The chalet, zombies, trick-or-treating, even Snaptooth( he's so wonderfully vulnerable to knockback ).
Y'know, the ski chalet is in the Shadow Shard. Wonder what Rularuu thinks of it?
Imagine, Observer snipers on the new Xtreme! ski course, periodic invasions to assassinate Father Time, a new GM to join the Winter Lord, and much more. It would be awesome.

Seriously though, I'm hoping that we get lots of great improvements this year. Like i said in my original post, I want some snow in other zones!
I have 3 toons that have their entire Inspiration box filled with Winter event Presents, and most of my toons have 3 to 100 candy canes in their possession. Don't know why I kept them, maybe I'll sell them just before the event this year when prices go crazy.

Also looking forward to the reopening of the Ski Chalet. I love sliding around on the snow and ice.

Maybe I'm just kind of a freak, but it's only September and I'm thinking that the Halloween and Winter events can't come fast enough. My favorite is the Winter Event; we doesn't get much snow in Phoenix, so it's lots of fun getting to play around in it without having to worry about frostbite. Plus, we get the holiday jetpack, arguably one of the best jetpacks in the game. I hope that next time the event rolls around, we get to see snow in more zones.
