Someone told me that Independence Port is spawning a new type of critter, but I can't log on to verify, and I don't see anything on a forum search.

Is this true?

Yes.

5th Column spawn outside now, fighting the Council. This is occuring outside of IP as well.

Acutally, the 5th aren't new...they were there first. They're back.

And they pwn the Council in every possible way.

They're better fighters, they look cooler, and they're Nazis.

If I walked up to someone on the street and asked "Who would you rather beat the tar out of: Benito Mussolini or Adolf Hitler?" what would their answer be?

Nazis are great for kicking!

I'd go through Mussolini to get Hitler.

(Even though that didn't work so well in real life [the campaign got bogged down in Italy]).

Do not go gentle into that good night.

I was having a moral dilemma last night on whether or not its okay to cheer for a Nazi resurgence

My main character's bio (written in I1 or I2) was tied to the fight against 5th Col. as her reason for being in Paragon City. It felt very lame to have to append it with "...and Council too, I guess."

Posted

Heh, I also have a long-standing character whose story tied into the 5th. I added some mumbling at the end about how the Council are basically the same, but it was, like you say, a lame add-on.

'cause Hitler threw his cronies at the allies. So they had to go through Mussolini, then through Hitler's armies...to get to hitler.

Fur Die Column!

The Council were rather lame, IMO. Hope the 5th make more and more of a comeback...even if it's so we can pound on em XD

I'd say "I'll use Benito Mussolini to beat the tar out of Adolf Hitler."

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

They're in Steel too, and not a moment too soon. After doing the Peacebringer missions for the first time, I am officially sick to death of the Council.

Am I the only one who has been using my villain to help the 5th take over the Sharkhead Isle Council base? It makes me feel very evil, like playing a short Westin Phipps arc without all that annoying dialogue.

That might have something to do with the fact that all the battles are set up with twice as many 5th as Council

Is it the Council's fault that the 5th have snazzier uniforms and attract more recruits?
Well, yes it is actually. Fascist fashion flair fail.

It really is like that.

Like déjà vu, all over again

Isn't it like that?

So far I've seen 5th and Council slugging it out in Boomtown, Steel, and Sharkhead. And in all three locations, even when the numbers are evenly matched, the 5th Column are pretty much presenting the Council their a**es on a tray.

I have a character (a couple, actually) that are former Nazi agents (they're villains, obviously). I'd love to be able to align villain characters with existing villain groups. It makes no sense for Die Grausigkeit to be battling the 5th Column, he should be working with them!

Wait, wait, wait...

People still go to Independence Port? O.o

Hamidon could've taken over and turned all the mobs in IP into quivering jellies for all I know.
