Yes, my first 50 was my Spines/Regen Scrapper. I Played him almost every day, did just about everything with him.
Then I soft-capped my fire/sr and really haven't played my spines/regen except to move him to another day job location.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Happened to me with ATs. Soon as brutes were added to the game, scrappers haven't been the same for me.
I'd still rather pull Bill out for any big happenings or ITFs, but no other scrapper I've played grabs me like the same sets on a brute.
Apparently I'm addicted to fury.
Be well, people of CoH.

Somewhat for me
First it stated with my BS/SR I love him all the way to 50 and then at 50 he was really fun when I found out for the soft cap was. Then I made a Fire/Fire Scrapper and fell in love with him and really couldn't play my BS/SR anymore, I still get badges with him but that is about the only time I bring him out.
After playing my fire/fire to 50 and sometime later I made a DM/SD and started to play with Him a lot and couldn't go back and play my Fire/Fire. Then I started to play my DB/Regen again and fell in love with her and can't play my DM/SD Scrapper anymore because it is not as fun as my DB/Regen.
I'm sad to say, my BS/Regen doesn't make my heart flutter since I created my Fire/Shield.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
Well lets see here...
My very first character is my BS/Inv (Guin). Loved him, played him to 50 and then came...
A Katana/Regen (Iggy Kamakaze). Loved him, played him to 50 and then came out WP...
A Claws/WP (Devine Will). Loved him, played him to 40 and then...
A Claws/Regen (Perfect Weapon). Loved him, my fastest to 50 to this day and then...
A Claws/SR (Patrick Fury). Loved him, played him to 50 and then...
A Fire/SR (Burnt Vengeance). Loved him, played him to 40 and then...
A Claws/Inv (MW88). Loved him, played him to 50 and then came out Shields...
A Fire/Shielder (Back Hand of Doom). Loved him, played him to 50 and then...
A Katana/Fire (Iggy Wasabi). Loved him, played him to 50 and now...
Guin, Patrick Fury, MW88, Back Hand of Doom and Iggy Wasabi splits my playing time... ;-)
And Iggy Kamakaze is waiting for his new outfit so he could join in, It is my forum name after all...
The real question is, why did you rip off P-Forge's name
Any character of mine that cannot contribute to the overall damage and mitigation (and not just by killing things, although that way is still the best) of at least a duo has fallen out of favor with me. I have invested far more in IOs in my DM/Regen Scrapper and he pretty much just watches my DM/Shield and Fire/Kin. The price of getting what I wanted the latter two to do being much lower probably had something to do with it, too.
I am sure I will get back to him someday just for grins. Just do not see it happening anytime soon.
11 months of all-nighters, messy feeding sessions, bath fighting and realizing just how good my son's lungs work, and I am still convinced he is the crowning accomplishment in my life. What in the blue HFIL is wrong with me?
I think, of all my top level characters, the only one I really don't ever feel like playing is my first 50, my axe/fire tanker. It's just... eh. Probably because of burn, I guess, but /fire was never a great defensive set, but burn more than made up for that... and I know it could be a very good character if I respec'd and use IOs but I probably never will.
I'm kind of at the same point with my 41 Peacebringer. Too late I realized that I really like Warshades better, and then I got several blasters up to 40 and one of them to 50 and... my PB feels like a weak blaster/blapper most of the time. I just like specialists more I guess.
I do want to get my PB to 50, but I really need to figure out a good IO build first I guess.
Still love playing my fire/fire blaster. Having recently IO'd my illusion/rad troller, she is extra fun to play now. My brute and MM are fun, my SoA's are fun. My other tanks (four of them at 32+, one at 50) are fun. Even my dark/arrow defender is a ton of fun. And scrappers... well, I'm at level 48 on Shinobu Dragonheart, she'll be my 4th level 50 scrapper. Then I need to make a shield scrapper, or play up one of my other 4 MA scrappers, or finally get my original scrapper Organica to 50. ^_^

???? Are your hearts not big enough to encompass all your toons??? Sure some toons become stepping stones to others, but is that reason to fall out of love with them??? There are many different types of love.
There is (1) the fierce passion type of toon, ala I have to play this toon everyday, (2) there is the comforting love of a chicken soup type of toon..ala I am not feeling well today, I think I will play so and so because I knew he will perform great.
There are more examples but I am in sort of a rush. I saw this and squeeled to a stop.
Relax, and don't feel bad if some of your "Fierce Passion" inspiring toons are now "Chicken Soup" type of toons. Fierce passion is not long lived, but Chicken Soup toons...they stay with you.
Sort of like real life relationships
Anyways, have to scoot my boots to work.

My namesake (which I reroll a lot, and will reroll again come I16) is still my favorite toon despite having much more powerful alts.
I've had similar issues with a couple toons.
My first 50 was an Inv/EM tank and I loved playing her. Even after all GDN/ED I loved playing her. Then Issue 13 came out and my friend and I made new toons. He made a BS/Shield scrapper, I made a Shield/Ice tanker. A couple weeks later we were 50 and my Inv/EM tank just didn't seem that interesting to me anymore. I still bring her out from time to time, but usually it's day job moving or just a mission.
I also have a MA/EA stalker. Coincidentally my first lvl 50 villain. At times it's been a chore leveling her, but I have enjoyed the stalker style and the butt kicking I can do. I then made an Elec/SR stalker. It only took a few play sessions before I realized how awesome it was. My other stalker only moves around for day jobs now. Nothing else. I'd delete her if I didn't have a sentimental attachment for my first 50 villain. Especially after it took almost two years to get her there.
My Claws / WP scrapper. Created him first. About level 25 I created a Dark/WP Brute and he just took over from the Scrapper. I love Claws as a set but the Dark/WP just gelled better.
Then, when the Dark/WP Brute was around level 35 I decided a change was needed so made a Stone/Fire Brute who basically took over from the Dark/WP a lot. But now he's level 35 or so I've been splitting my playtime between the two (so the Claws/WP scrapper is really forgotten now).
I'm making a Claws/Elec to replace the Claws/WP in i16. Still unsure if he should be a Brute or a Scrapper, but I'm now leaning more towards Scrapper since I've been running a lot of Villains content (mostly solo) recently and am getting bored of it.
I've a feeling the cool visuals of the Claws/Elec mean the poor level 41 Dark/WP will end up on hiatus now though.
Love? I don't do love. I have quick, dirty moments with all my characters.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Always.
I have a Love/Indifference problem with my toons as well.
I:
1) build a toon,
2) roll him,
3) rough it out till he's like the build,
4) fall in love with it,
5) play play play play, gosh tthis is so bbqawseomesauce, play play play
6) think "hmm I wonder if X/X with a,b,c and this slotting would bea ble to..."
7) goto 1

Damn you 6 & 7. Why won't you just let me finish a character before rearing your ugly heads.
I have a hard time rolling scrappers after getting my DM/Invul brute to 50
Both of my 50 scrappers are still my favorite toons to play. Claws (my main and namesake) is in semi-retirement simply because there is nothing left for him to do, when Going Rogue comes out he will come out of retirement to run all the new content, on both sides.
Chris Dawnslayer, my BS/DA has a new lease on life since I softcapped him, he's become my favorite character to play by far, and the only character I've ever built to pull off a RWZ Challenge (1st try after softcapping)
The only 50 I've fallen out of love with is my fire/fire blaster. He's only even level 50 because I got tired of looking at him sitting at 48 on my character select screen. He is almost never played anymore.
My 50 Sonic/Devices is another story. He's my PvP toon (on the very rare occasions when I'm in the mood for it) and will be soloing AVs as soon as I feel like finishing his build (the BS/DA is taking up all my time and money currently)
My Rad/Sonic will be 50 soon, he's sitting at 49 1/2 and just needs a TF to hit 50 pretty much.
There have been a number of scrappers that have come and gone, but if I get them to 50 I'm with em for the long haul. I only have 4 50s at the moment (soon to be 5) so my play time gets split fairly evenly.

Hi, my names Ollie, and I'm an altaholic...
Sadly I rarely fall in love with my characters, purely because I have to have a good back story behind the character as well as him being an absolute wrecking ball. I only have 2 level 50s, my Katana/SR scrapper and SS/SD tank, both of whom are fun to play but currently, all of my love is being poured into my new Spines/DA scrapper, who is only level 26 at the moment but already feels like a small condensed ball of pure, unadulterated energy :P
I don't necessarilly fall out of love with my Scrappers, I just get the itch for a new concept/backstory and fall in love with that a bit more for a while!
I have my 6 year Vet Badge and only ever levelled one character to 50!
So clearly I need to get a stronger Alt Itis medication!
I vowed to get one of my Scrappers to lvl 50, and I think I'm doing pretty well with Captain Midnight, my Dark/Willpower, He is curretly at 41.
I started IOing him after a really frustrating Abandoned Sewer Trial that went south from the get go.
I didn't feel like the awesome weilder of dark power that I thought I should have by level 38.
His primary powers are now IO'd and I'm starting on his secondary, he won't be as pure awesome as some builds at 50 are but he should hopefully be able to take on the AVs he is going to start seeing in his missions If I do it right!
So I'm actively focusing on him at the moment, but then I needed to get my Claws SR his Tals so he got played this weekend (67 vanguard merits 33 to go)....
Feel The Burn
Did you ever fall in love with one of your scrappers then make a new one and then fall completely out of love with it? This is my case I LOVED my fire/regeneration, Wifry, he is bloody awesome but I rolled a dark/shield, Saint November, and it's been love ever since, he is simply amazing and just completely astounds me. Today I went back to playing my fire/regeneration and it was fun but just wasn't great... Two different play styles, two different animals, but it makes me sad
.
Has this ever happened to you?
