Falling out of love

???? Are your hearts not big enough to encompass all your toons??? Sure some toons become stepping stones to others, but is that reason to fall out of love with them??? There are many different types of love.
There is (1) the fierce passion type of toon, ala I have to play this toon everyday, (2) there is the comforting love of a chicken soup type of toon..ala I am not feeling well today, I think I will play so and so because I knew he will perform great. There are more examples but I am in sort of a rush. I saw this and squeeled to a stop. Relax, and don't feel bad if some of your "Fierce Passion" inspiring toons are now "Chicken Soup" type of toons. Fierce passion is not long lived, but Chicken Soup toons...they stay with you. Sort of like real life relationships ![]() Anyways, have to scoot my boots to work. Lisa. |

Hi, my names Ollie, and I'm an altaholic...
Sadly I rarely fall in love with my characters, purely because I have to have a good back story behind the character as well as him being an absolute wrecking ball. I only have 2 level 50s, my Katana/SR scrapper and SS/SD tank, both of whom are fun to play but currently, all of my love is being poured into my new Spines/DA scrapper, who is only level 26 at the moment but already feels like a small condensed ball of pure, unadulterated energy :P |
Although its not as bad as some cases I've seen. I don't have a love for "one". "I love alts alts alts alts. All my alts a do adore..." I don't have a main. I have a first, a global name sake, a forum name sake, a badge collector, and/or what ever I feel like playing or rolling at the time. Have plans on IOing all of them. Getting the major badges on all of them. If I don't love it, I delete it. Virtue is about to run out of space due to the no love lost situation.
"All problems can be solved by throwing enough scrappers at it."
@Riez on Virtue, Protector, Champion, and Exalted server.
I spent about 6-7 months with Shred Monkey at 50. However the day I started my DM/Shield he retired completely. He has done nothing except respec out IOs from his build since my DM/Shield hit 50. I did bring him out for a few 5th anniversery badges, but that's it.
Now, with my Fire/MM blaster at 50, my DM/Shield doesn't see much playtime anymore. If a TF starts up I go to the blaster (sick sick damage, no scrapper can touch that... especially with the buffers/debuffers I usually TF with). If I'm solo, I work on leveling up new projects.
To be honest... I'm not sure I love any of my toons right now.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
I've fallen in love with quite a few characters as I was levelling them up, and watching them steadily get more awesome. Then they get to 50, I vow I will get those last few purples I need to finish them, get one or two, and move on to a new project.
Then a few months later I log them in for a task force or something, remember why I loved the character in the first place, tweak their build a bit and set out to actually finish it. Right now I'm back in love with my DB/SR.

Well I fell out of love with my BS/Sr when they buffed Siphon Life and my DM/SR became an old trsuted friend again
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.

I didn't realize Power Forge's Scrappers name was similar to mine up until my scrapper was at 45 lol. At least we're on different servers lol.

Edit: And further more if you do have a problem with me why don't you PM me instead of hiding behind reputation.

I have a Love/Indifference problem with my toons as well.
I:
1) build a toon,
2) roll him,
3) rough it out till he's like the build,
4) fall in love with it,
5) play play play play, gosh tthis is so bbqawseomesauce, play play play
6) think "hmm I wonder if X/X with a,b,c and this slotting would bea ble to..."
7) goto 1
Basically too many 50's to count, but I'm generally a brute/scrapper/tank kind of guy.
