Is Virtue right for me?

Oh! Very important advice there. And don't be cheap and just toss raw fish. A nice fried or grilled battered bit of halibut with a sprinkling of lemon goes over really well though.

That is.. possibly the most simple and accurate way that could possibly be put. Perfect!

Yeah, withn MRP you have the "fade to black" should your toon get into a sexual situation.
ERP = you write that jazz out.

Although I think we should include the straight up cyb0rz. People whoc have cyber-sex do it under the guise and false veil of ERP. I qualify the distinction as: If your character(s) have growth within the sexual experience, then writing it is no more than a writing exercise...however, if you are actively "participating" in real life whilst ERPing...that's a whole 'nother animal. Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.

Personally, a giant blue, glowy-eyed **** doesn't do it for me in real life.

Just sayin'.

What a negative individual!

And hey, grammar princess is striking again...it's "they know what I stand FOR."

Also, he said he wanted to try RP...hence the RPers responses. Not to mention he was saying something about elitism...reread what you posted right there...sounds pretty flipping elite to me. Just sayin'.

I'm not really picky about RPers. As long as you're not trying to be a direct knockoff trying to live out a crossover fantasy things are a-ok.

-Is Virtue full of elitist cliques? All of my main toons are on Freedom and I have had difficulty in the past trying to find an SG where I thought I fit in. Freedom is sometimes too crowded and all the competent players stick to themselves leaving PuGs (what i find myself in most of the time) to be wrought with frustration.
-There are a lot of RPers here. However there are also a lot of people that just have fun in whatever hero/villian persona they are running. Most people on Virtue would be too imaginative to have a chr named Darth Gokuverine.

-There are elitist cliques but Virtue is generally pretty laid back welcoming PUGs of all types.

((Very good, JJ! "Drinkin' an' cussin'." MRP.

Now, class, does anyone want to volunteer to show us an example of ERP?

Anybody?

I just watched that movie (well, the first half anyways) mostly as kindling for my nerd rage.

I feel like someone somewhere owes me an apology.

hrhmm...buncha thread hi-jackers around these here parts. Worse than horse thieves, or train robbers I say...

I reckun you'll find yerself a good place in Virtue.

*can't seem to develop a spit, so stands there awkwardly*

Well for a fistful of dollars, I'd tell you what I'd do with all these thread hi-jackers.

The good ones would get off light, I'd tell them to paint your wagon for ya.
The bad ones, I'd just hang em, and I'd hang em high. For a few dollars more I'd even build the gallows.
The ugly ones, I'd slap them in rawhide and drive em off Coogan's Bluff.

Well think about it and I'll be back, got to go drop off these two mules for my sister Sara.

But on a serious note, RP is to be had on Virtue just don't expect to find gold at first...I know I still haven't. With AE rampant nowadays it is actually kind of hard to find RPers in the first place let alone get into, point two, their group. That is not to say that it is impossible but expect to work at it. Or get lucky and find a good group almost instantly, in which case I would hate you in a non-hateful way.

No relation to Arachnos!

Part Pack: Now the majority of players know how we, PvPers, have felt for years now. Don't want to be so "civil" now that you have been completly ignored, do you?

Hmmm...good point, I hadn't thought about the lust for PLing detracting from what appears to be an entertaining server.

Just to help nudge this back on topic, about 2 1/2 years ago, I was in your shoes figuratively. I'd heard a lot of good stuff about the rp on Virtue and some of the scary stuff and my main SG on Infinity had become kinda quiet as folks were very busy with RL, so I decided to take a field trip. Started a character in Atlas and after running with a PuG for awhile, I took a shortcut to KR through the D. Holy smokes! At the time Infinity's D was almost always empty and Virtue's was chock full of people actually using the space. I ended up wandering over to the upstairs blue side bar and people watching for awhile until someone approached me, struck up a conversation and was patient enough with me to not laugh and scream "NOOOOOB!" in broadcast as I clumsily rp'd. (Thank you HM!) I rarely visit the blue side bar much anymore (got tired of getting propositioned every 5 minutes), prefering the center platform or Monkey Fight Club/Arena area and other areas out in the city, but for the most part, people are welcoming and open.

Couple of things to keep in mind, just from my own personal experience:
• Some characters are complete jerks, it doesn't mean that their players are.
• Spelling counts, or at least coherent basic grammar. It's difficult to rp with someone who constantly text-speaks.
• There are elitist cliques. It's pretty easy to tell who they are and just like in high school, 99% of what's actually happening doesn't involve them. (Also not everyone that is involved in one of these groups is a jerk either, sometimes it's just one very obnoxious player.)

Welcome to the server! I think you're gonna like it here! Feel free to swing by my show with Cape Radio on Wednesday nights and say hi...I'd be happy to make some introductions for you.
